It turns into kind of an obsession and I can see it pretty well the more I spend. Between the Harley, race car stuff, and guns. I could have easily bought a new Harley with what I've spent over the years. I end up buying every special tool I end up needing at 1 time or another lol. I could probably do a lot more if I spent more on parts and less on tools. Guys at work are all starting out. I was explaining several tools I have to make things so much easier. Their eyes glass over like Im showing them makeup or something. Guess where everything ends up to be worked on. I try to live my life in the "buy once cry once" frame of mind. Tools especially. You don't need a $1000 snap-on socket set. BUT that $10 off brand might just end up costing you $1000 when you break something off important.
@sikbaggers
@sikbaggers Ай бұрын
couldn't agree more on the cheap stuff...been there..i try to just stay right down the middle..this master torx/hex set I got seemed expensive until my buddy got me a price off the snap on truck and was nearly 650 bucks for the same set...I opted for this one and its been great for 2 years now using it everyday...i still get glassy eyed when shopping for tools lol I've rolled the dice on some liquid shit tools before also..its frustrating

hey Steve, Thanks for tour of your tool box. Love it. I'm always added tool as I tackle new projects on the bike. Quick question, your wheel chock on your table, does that come with your table or can it be added? the one that came with my table sucks... I almost lost my bike when lifting the back wheel and left side ratchet strap slipped, bike took a hard lean to the right. i need an upgrade.... Let me know what you recommend.
@sikbaggers
@sikbaggers Ай бұрын
Hey David..yes it came with the table but you can buy them from just about any lift table company...I highly recommend this style as i can crank that front tire down and it will hold the bike while i get the center jack under it. Now that being said when I put the rear wheel up I do strap it back so it doesn't roll forward...also grab a zip tie and tie off your front hand brake ..here is one from Dereck Weaver Lifts thats a good price.. www.derekweaver.com/bikers-garage/motorcycle-lift-parts-accessories/w-vise-motorcycle-vise-tire-clamp/?gad_source=1

@edwardsmith7409 Ай бұрын
I bought the Icon T handle torx,hex etc from Harbor freight. They have held up well. The rest of the Harbor freight stuff I’ll pass. The Pittsburg tool line is garbage. Just my opinion. Milwaukee makes great shit lol. My wife hates it when I’m on Home Depot’s site. I do believe I’m gonna try out the master torx set you have. The craftsman ones I have are wore out. They are soft. Great video Steve. Ride safe.

G'day Regarding the torque wrenches, in one of your older videos you had ep tools, small (2.26-22.6 nm) and larger (13.6-203.5 nm). In this one you've got the lexivon small (1.1-16.9 nm) and larger (33.9-338.9 nm). With ep auto, between the two covered 2.26-203.5 nm with a small overlap between 13.6 and 22.6 nm however with the lexivon there is a gap of 17 nm between the high of the small one (16.9 nm) and the low of the larger one (33.9 nm). What do you do for the settings in between the two? Cheers Shane

Tool car is just one of those things you don’t realize how badly you needed it until you have it. It’s an absolute game changer, especially because most of the shit you do you move from one side to the other and you gotta move all your shit my hand this way it’s all on the cart you push it around to the other side game on.
@sikbaggers
@sikbaggers Ай бұрын
yes sir,...changed my every day routine for sure..." ok i got this side done, now I have to gather everything up and shove it under the bike to the other side and then forget 2 things and have to walk my ass back around and get it" LOL I did a lot of research on the carts before ordering..I like gearwrench but they are kind if pricey but this piece is pretty spot on compared to the others and the leg is offset pretty far and not right down the middle so it allows me to really get it up next to me under the lift.
