I like the almost mysterious feeling to this one.

Yes, there really seems to be something disturbing in the air here. This is probably caused by the minor scale and several alterations. I'm glad you like it! Have a happy day!

This tremolo version of the etude op. 45 Nr. 19 in Wohlfahrt is really very beautiful. I really appreciate your control of the keyboard and your ability to "sing" the melodic line that develops through the technical process. Dear Toomas, I wish you a wonderful weekend :-) Antonio

Yes, although each etude usually focuses on some technical element in different situations, there are also plenty of opportunities to work on phrasing. I'm glad you like it! Have a happy day!

I starting practicing mandolin regularly and my favorite is Jakob Dont op 37. Violin exercises apply well to mandolin

Yes, 24 Preparatory Exercices to the Studies of Kreutzer and Rode, great material. I know from my experience playing Kreutzer and Rode really needs preparation and Dont seems to be very helpful here. Thank you! Nice to meet!

@@ToomasRannu I have the Kreutzer book from when I had violin lessons decades ago and I play that as well. I just got Rode but it's a bit much for me now. I am also getting Dont op 35. With mandolin, as opposed to violin, I find I can spend less time worrying about bow technique and intonation and more time appreciating the music itself, which is more enjoyable to me.

Years ago, I came across a Mazas Op.36. Then I discovered the etudes of 19th century violinists. I recorded some on this channel as well. As one friend aptly says here, that nineteenth-century instrumental studies combine technical problems with pleasant and interesting melodic lines. That's it. I wish you success!
