This movie really was dark AF. It didn't pull any punches. I'm glad they decided to show it. (I'm also still holding out hope Toonami does a Month Of Miyazaki again. At least one more day time.)

I remember this incredible month of movies Toonami was airing! It was so good, because it was one great film after another, 1st with Akira, then Summer Wars, and finally Trigun. That was all the way back when I was still in middle school, and it’s nostalgic to look back on it now. Edit: And OF COURSE, the week after trigun, we got to see the world premiere of Space Dandy!!

8th grade for me, good times. Akira became one of if not my all time favorite movie that night, Space Dandy was great too. I was a big Soul Eater fan around that time lmao

That’s insinuating other anime characters look white and no white person looks like any anime characters. White noses are too big. Only anime characters that do look white are the titans.

I was amazed to see that this animation was from 1988, and I definitely plan on watching it. Really excited for Toonami's premier movie. Now just looking for all the Naruto, DBZ, and the Cowboy Bebop movie to air (:

I just got this movie on blu ray and dvd and I gotta say, Adult Swim is completely right about it being one of the greatest animated films of all time. This movie has the same audience score as avengers endgame for god sakes it is amazing!!

I remember I was in college and my fraternity had one tv that worked. I went into that room at like 3 a.m. and this promo came on. I forgot about it until I was on break about a week later and just by chance it was when Toonami was showing the movie. I ended up watching it all the way through with no idea what it was about.

it was back in 3rd grade when i was first exposed to this landmark classic and anime as a whole, it’s truly timeless. traumatizing, yes, yet also an experience i wouldn’t take away for the world. now it’s time for my final december until responsibilities woooo
