This group really swings!!!!! 5 part sax writing, fully memorized, with a lot of flair and vivacity!! I love the curved soprano and bass sax!!A lot of hard work went into that performance! Five brothers!!
@jazzbo4814 жыл бұрын
Outstanding!!! Unless you're a musician, you have no idea how hard this chart is. Definitely professional level stuff. And from memory, too.

when I went to Disney years back these guys were who I looked for every day. I bought a bass sax after hearing them and to this day still perform with it. They were always fantastic. The sound of that vintage bass is unmistakable.

My dear departed Dad played trumpet semi-professionally with Alan Ayres Jazz Band for 27 years (1941-68) in Birmingham UK. He whistled this all the time, (along with the jazz riffs he played on his trumpet). Dad you rocked! XX.

Disney hired professional (Union) musicians at Disneyland and Disney World from the very beginning to entertain guests. Groups were organized around one of the movies' characters and costumes fit that theme. A great arrangement of the original 1947 Woody Herman big band song - four brothers plus a bass sax to provide backing rhythm. The original sax section called for three tenors and a bari.

Oh my! These guys are just great. My saxquintet (SaxKompaniet) also plays this tune, but can`t ever dream of doing the tune like this! Makes me wanna go to "Disney World?" just to go hear & see these guys!

That is so awesome, I love it, next time I meet 4 other brothers, I am going to ask them if they want to go busk downtown man! Why did'nt I think of it sooner!!! You guys are great, I hope disneyland is paying you guys 'real' money!

If you think that the people in the background are nuts, dig this. One night, when Woody was ailing and Frank Tiberi was temporarily fronting the Herd, Stan Getz and his 4tette were the "warm up act". This took place in a reception hall in Oak Brook, IL The diners sat and talk while Getz and his group played. Shame on them.
@pickinstone13 жыл бұрын
who woulda thought you could actually have this much fun with Disney characters? I love this tune (is it Guiffre?) and the whole get-up with costumes adds to the humor. Great playing here!
@saxhaggis15 жыл бұрын
Disney World this may be but this group are definitely not Mickey Mouse! Four Brothers is very difficult to play even with the music in front of you, so to play it as they did from memory is good going!!

The overalls are just thier costumes, they are dressed a bit like the firememn on the Steam Trains that stop at the station right nearby, i imagine there is some sort of back story that ties them to the trains somehow, they do have another set of costumes however....so, if you look for Cinderealls Royal saxaphonists you may be able to see some pictures of them in those Fantasyland costumes.

the saxophone is the instrament i think with the most tones like saprano, alto, tenor, baritone, bass, contra bass, thats a lot of tones

Hey there! I’m not sure if this is Dave playing the bass sax in this video. It looks more like Scott Devlin and sounds more like Scott Devlin’s voice to me. I took lessons with him for years.
