A summer solstice celebration on West African rhythms and melodies! On June 22, three neo-fanfares from Brussels and Charleroi, a percussion group from Leuven and a philharmonic orchestra from Jabbeke made the sun shine in les Marolles during the annual Fête de la Musique.
After several pop-up concerts throughout the neighbourhood, they performed together during a closing concert at Parc des Brigittines. Conducted by Ejaspapa Gnonlonfoun & Adrien Lambinet and accompanied by an open dance collectif led by Ilaria Orlandini, they invited everyone to dance and celebrate the start of the summer on refreshing Afropean sounds and typical West African polyrhythms.
