I sang this song in the high school talent show and I had over 50 girls follow me out of the PAC. Mind you, I'm only 5'6" tall, but I have the voice of a man who is 6'11" tall.

I love the story behind this one. My wife and I met as children and became best friends before finally getting together later in life. Not only can Josh Turner drop into a beautiful bass tone, he’s also a great person. He’s a dedicated Christian man that doesn’t drink or use drugs, but anyone who plays with his band has to make that same commitment. He wants to set an example that his fans (especially young ones) can follow that won’t lead down dark paths. Yep, a GOOD man and role model.

4:45 "Is he playing the fiddle? What is that?" Mandolin. A fiddle isn't really an instrument. Fiddling is a way of playing a violin. It's drawing the bow across more than one string at the same time, making a chord instead of a clean note. It was made popular in Irish jigs and bluegrass and made its way into country and then on to southern rock and Americana.

So...a fiddle is a...verb?
@JamesWoodard1222
@JamesWoodard1222 4 жыл бұрын
@@conniekempf4050 In the context of playing a violin, to fiddle is a verb. It has, however, over time, been used colloquially as a noun to describe a violin upon which the player fiddles. I'm pretty sure it started as a result of "serious violinists" claiming something to the effect of, "You're not playing that violin right. You're just fiddling around with it." As if a fiddler isn't serious about his/her craft. Let's add to the confusion. A lip that extends above the surface of a table or shelf, to prevent items from falling off, typically found on a ship/yacht/boat, is a fiddle.

I fiddle isn’t an actual instrument it’s just used to describe the type of music being played when it sounds all fast and giddy like that, usually it’s on the violin

Congrats on your weight loss. I did the same thing a few years ago. Went from 245 to 165 lbs. I didn't stay there, but wanted to get to the weight I was the first time I got married. I gained a few back and I'm now at a comfortable 180 lbs. I had moved from Newport, RI to a place called Bulls Gap, TN. It's peaceful here and My anxiety levels have gone way down. No more nervous eating, or eating by the clock. It's amazing what one can accomplish, when one finds peace of mind. Love your reactions. Keep up the good work.

This song came out a couple years after I got married. My husband has a BEAUTIFUL baritone voice (even sings in the church choir) and he always sings it to me in the car.

Have you seen the one by Toby Keith the song " don't let the old man in". Toby and Clint Eastwood was golfing to gather last year and Clint said, he will be 88 years old, next week; And also directing a movie called the mule, toby ask how you keep doing it, Clint replied he tries to not let the old man in. So Toby went home and wote this song and sent to Clint. Clint replied I'm putting the song in the movie.: Now is 89 years old

Josh Turner's Long Black Train & Why Don't We Just Dance are two of my favorites! His voice is incredible - if I remember right, he had an illness that damaged his vocal cords and made his voice the deep!
