Well, since you're asking, the list is way wrong. How can The Knack be a one hit wonder when their follow up ("Good Girls Don't") peaked at #11??? And, their second album also had a top 40 hit with "Baby Talks Dirty". They are, at worst, a 3 hit wonder. Redbone had two top 40 hits. You need to clarify what you consider a hit then.

Johnny Rivers was not in the list but only the introduction, which I’ll admit was a bit misleading but they may have been using him only to represent the 70s.

@@aronkelley8634 Andy Kim had several Top 40 and Hot 100 Hits, but most of them were before "Rock Me Gently": he hit #9 with "Baby, I Love You" in 1969 and #17 with "Be My Baby" (cover of the Ronettes' classic) in 1970. Nothing very memorable, for sure. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Kim_(singer) However, Terry Jacks and First Class never broke the Top 40 any other time, although both had a couple of tracks make the Hot 100.

In 1976 Boston; The Ramones; and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers all released their first album. The Grammy for Best New Artist went to Starland Vocal Band, which was never heard from again.

Brandy has been one of my favourites ever since I first heard it up in a park in Norther Ontario, dragging logs to the wood yard as a Junior Ranger. And who couldn't like Afternoon Delight? Same with Hooked on a Feeling or Nights the lights went out in Georgia. Back when music was worth listening to.

Looking Glass was not a one-hit wonder. In 1974, they hit #33 with “Jimmy Loves Mary-Anne”. The Knack hit #11 with “Good Girls Don’t”. Blue Swede hit #7 with “Never My Love”. This video is all wrong!

Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit In The Sky" is a one-hit wonder, an avenue he chose himself. He said that Spirit has made him enough money to live comfortably the rest of his life. However find a copy of his album "Petaluma" and you won't be disappointed in his laid back songs of life on a dairy farm.

The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia was written by Bobby Russell, who was married to Vicki Lawrence at the time. He originally wrote it with Cher in mind. The demo was sent to Sonny who turned it down (the original story was that Cher turned it down because she thought the lyrics were too negative about the South). Cher said she didn't know until years later that Sonny had turned it down.

Craig Kilbourne used the Wild Cherry song on and off his Late Late Show With Craig Kilbourne as his walk-in music . He had some royalties issues with the band for awhile . The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia song was an inspiration for a movie with the name . It starred Kristy McNichol , Dennis Quaid and Mark Hammill . It obviously bombed because so few people even know about the movie .

At the time when Come And Get Your Love by Redbone and Hooked On A Feeling (an original by BJ Thomas) was playing on the radio, I thought those performers were black. Redbone had a top-40 song in early 1972 called The Witch Queen Of New Orleans. That song is quite intriguing to hear. Give that one a listen!

None of these songs are bad. The problem was that, in the 1970's, Top 40 AM radio was where you heard these songs. Out cruising around you'd hear these hits 4 to 5 times an hour. They shoved these songs down our throats! Afternoon Delight 4 to 5 times an hour?

Mungo Jerry is NO one-hit wonder!!! Several hits world wide after "In the Summertime", like "Baby Jump", "Lady Rose", "Alright Alright Alright", "Open up", "Feels like I´m in Love", "Hello Nadine", "You don´t have to be in the army", "Long legged Woman dressed in black" etc.

There is something about the song dancing in the Moonlight most don’t know. He took a tragedy in his life and turned it into something good. Please look that up. You will be amazed.
