I'm happy and kind of sad that the actor had to remind them of that. It's sad that young teenage girls have been conditioned to think someone like Joe stalking a girl for love is somehow romantic.

Pals C I just read the article. Why’d it take her till the end of the season to see that was a creepy stalker? In the first episode he looked her up on the internet, found out where she lived, masturbated outside her window, broke into her house, stole her phone to stalk her even harder, must I go on? I know Millie’s young but girl come on now.

@@AJ-cq5pw Exactly. This isn't love or anything similar to it. He did so many bad things in first episode itself. Millie is a really young but she needs to understand the difference between stalking and love. I wonder if she did the same in her real life.

Agreed, Penn Badgley finds it pretty disturbing that so many people started to sympathize with and even condone his actions. This stems from the fact that the show is framed from his perspective, and he justifies his actions to the viewer. Even Millie Bobby Brown sent out some tweets on Twitter expressing her sympathy for Joe, as he was clearly doing everything out of love for Beck. However, after they received backlash, she retracted her statements, as she had only watched the first two episodes at the time.

If You don't still watch the show you have NO room to talk. Just because it has a lot of seasons in no way makes it a bad show, you just use that as an excuse to criticize it. Yes it's a long time for a show but so what? It's a damn good show. I've been watching since the beginning and I still am and it's still really good. So fr don't be so quick to judge.

Those Tumblr fan girls killed that show. It was great before actors like Mischa Collins started interacting with them, ugh. It just needs to end and should’ve ended after season 5.

CelciaSnow *Misha. And no one said you have to pay any attention to the fandom, you can still simply watch the show. Long doesn't always mean bad. Every single show has crazy fandoms and it's your choice to interact with with that or not. The show is still very intriguing and fun to watch, the plot is still very interesting and as long as it continues to do so then they can continue as long as they want. Just don't be so quick to judge a show if you don't keep up with it.

Sarah Michelle Gellar actually loved being Buffy and is constantly open about how thankful she was to be given the opportunity to play that part. She looks at Buffy as a great role model for girls. yes, she said that season 6 is her least favorite because of some of the writing decisions that season when Joss wasn't there but that doesn't mean she hates the character as a whole.

Paige Giffon Yeah... I didn’t understand that pick either. I never got the impression that SMG didn’t like Buffy. Her disliking the character’s direction in season 6 is completely fair. It’s a decent season, but it’s extremely cruel to her character.

Exactly right... and the reason she decided to stop playing Buffy a season later was because of how physically demanding the role was. She was just exhausted and Joss agreed that they should end it on a high.

@@kgjames3603 Personally, I wish the show had ended with 6. It's actually my favorite season, whereas 7 is my LEAST favorite. I only ever watched S7 when it first aired, because I AM a fan...but have never watched a single S7 rerun, except for the last episode. I have the entire rest of the series on DVD.

It's one thing to say they hate their character but it's completely different when it's pointed at one season. For me, I never liked season 6 except for a few episodes (the musical and finale as examples) Buffy just didn't feel like herself and I wasn't fond with many of the choices they did.

Exactly, both just wanted something different, whether that be on the show or a different role altogether. Just because they don't gush over every aspect of everything, doesn't mean they don't love the work they have done.

I agree about Sarah, I get why she was not happy with season 6 as it's also the only one I didn't like except for the first few episodes and the last 4 or 5. They could have added James Marsters who played Spike who was ready to leave the show after a certain scene with Spike and Buffy.

If Penn liked his character, Joe from YOU, I’d be concerned. He played it really amazingly well but that made his character even more creepy and messed up

Choukobo - I mean liking him as a person or thinking he is a good person. People who like the joker don’t like him as a person, they know he is evil and twisted, they like him as a villainous character and the one to carry a plot line and story. I personally like Joker and the Birds of Prey for that, they make the storylines interesting. Penn’s character Joe is a character that a lot of people don’t know how to feel about, because he can act like a great guy but then he is obsessed and stalking a girl, and he kills anyone who gets in the way. He isn’t a good person

Maybe but it’s definitely not the case with You. Joe isn’t supposed to be some likable character he’s supposed to be the nasty, dangerous, creepy stalker that he is. So Penn Badgely is definitely right on this one. Joe isn’t meant to be humanized or sympathize with.

Funny thing about him is I saw his picture and clicked on the linking to find out if his dislike was of his Gossip Girl character -- that's one I couldn't stand him. I thought he was creepy on that show and he was supposed to be a "good" guy so maybe the actor is just creepy in general.

I loved Katherine since the early 90s when I was a kid, but I got so tired of her in the late 2000s. Grey's Anatomy was a huge opportunity for her & she let it go to her head. She started bad mouthing that show & almost every other project she was in. Like why would you talk shit about it something you signed up for? You knew what it was about before you signed up. Everyone got sick of her attitude & stopped offering her roles & fans stopped supporting her. She's mentions that frequently. I don't feel sorry for her in the slightest. She is the reason for her own demise. Motherhood & age has softened her heart & she's become a better person because of her three children. I'm glad that happened for her. I hope she has a career resurgence but it won't be the same as it was before. Katherine's acted since she was a teenager if not before & she really took a hard hit in her 30s with those stupid comments & actions.

Sarah worked sooo hard on Buffy. All of the actors have said so. She had the most material and a lot of her scenes required night shoots. She has said numerous times she didn't like the sixth season, but it's understandable due to the scenes she had to portray with Buffy being so depressed and having such a dark and twisted relationship with Spike. Furthermore, Sarah has said she felt the seventh season was good and, in her opinion, back to what she thought was in-character for Buffy. She didn't hate being Buffy. Sure, like almost 90% of television actors, she may have felt she grew out of the role toward the end, but if you look at any of her social media accounts she embraces the role and often posts many references to it. She knows how important Buffy was not only to her career but to fans all over the world. Saying she "HATED" Buffy is a bit of a stretch.

I heard the same. As for scenes she hated doing I know of two: the rape scene in the episode 6x19 "seeing red."(which James hated doing that one too) and the balcony scene in the episode 6x13 "dead things."

@@rwwilson21 Seeing Red is such an amazing episode imo, down to the way the sound is engineered to make that rape scene even more real and uncomfortable. I tense up with stress every time I watch it. I thought it was brave and truthful of them to play it out that way.

I think all of the Gossip Girl cast hate or have hated their characters/ the show. After the show Penn Badgley ripped on it regularly, Leighton Meester doesn't seem to like talking about it and Ed Westwick two or three years after the show ended couldn't remember who GG was.

It's interesting how videos like these don't even mention how the actors or actresses feel about their characters now. Yes, Miley did hate Hannah Montana and sadly whether we like it or not (I'm a big Hannah Montana fan, by the way) she had every right to feel the way that she was feeling. However, Miley also has admitted that she can now look back and respect her days as Hannah Montana and that despite everything Hannah Montana is definitely inside of her heart. :)

This video is mislabeled. According to the video, Jason Segal didn't hate Marshall, but just wanted more challenges. Mandy Patinkin hated the show as a whole, not his character, Sarah Michelle Gellar didn't like the last season, Angus T. Jones hated the show (rightfully so), but probably also the character, Shailene Woodley hated the "morals" from Secret Life, but I certainly hope she hated her character. All the characters were terrible. Katherine Heigl hated the writing.

Sarah Michelle Gellar should NOT be on the list AT ALL. Hating a single season doesn't mean she has hated the whole series and her character. She has made it clear how much she loved the show and loved playing the character. "I felt that [S6] betrayed who she was," is her quoting passionately as if she cares, BECAUSE SHE DOES CARE!!! I am ashamed that the channel cannot seem to do the research to their own lists, if they ever did to begin with. How many others on this list or in the other videos are wrong?

No one should be on the list, since none of these people actually hated their characters. They just felt that at some point the direction/writing of their characters were a bit off which is probably the case with every single actor in tvseries at some point. This is just another clickbate videotitle, where the content doesn't match the title.

Funny thing is if they'd of given the title 'Top 10 Actors Who Disliked the Direction Their Character's Story Went' then it wouldn't be clickbait. Although the Jason Gideon one could go under this title as well as the changed one I just created.

Her costars had mentioned she was unhappy with it by Season 3 because the intense scheduling made it hard for her to take on other projects (she was 21 at the time and it's understandable)

@@DeadLkeMe Many, if not all Buffy fans know that SMG was unhappy with the way her intense scheduling worked. Most actors have this problem and hate it. But there is a difference between hating a character (as the video says) and hating your schedule.

@@DeadLkeMe They were all "unhappy" with the intense schedule, because usually actors have 12h in a day as a MAX. With Buffy it was always 12h a day as MINIMUM. If Sarah was so unhappy with everything then surely she would have not made seven seasons of Buffy.

No Rose McGowan from Charmed? She only signed on for several seasons because she was replacing a main character. Her agent convinced her the show wouldn't last long after this change, and every year the show was renewed, Rose would cry. Also if you watch the bloopers, you can tell she was miserable. She's probably the most vocal out of any actor about hating their job.

She has a very rough relationship with several members of the cast and crew right now (you can find a semi recent interview of her on youtube talking about how she hates Alyssa Milano). Apparently people were under the impression she was a huge Charmed fan before being cast, but when being interviewed regarding the Charmed reboot, she said she never watched the original charmed (even her episodes), so she definitely won't watch the reboot.

Only me who thinks this is a pointless video, especially when most of the actors they listed doesn't hate their charachter just had some issues with the show. Like Jason Segel- he thought it got tedious to play the same role for 8 years- not that he hated his charachter. Just because you dont like everything that the show brought you or agrees with all of the decisions the writers made does not mean the actors hated their charachter!

Penn Badgley has said time and time again that he had fun playing the role, but he used it to educate people on what NOT to do, raising awareness for consent etc. and literally telling people not to fetishize or empathize with him. He doesn't hate his character, he simply realizes his flaws.

Just started watching it this year, I am on s 4 and hooked. Watched a bit of YOU, but had to leave it because it got way to screwed up for my taste. Was blown by seeing the same actor in gossip girl. Thought it might be that role he didn't like.. But yeah I understand why someone wouldn't like being Serina, she is just like stupid when it comes to making choices.. Like please when are you going to learn... That's the most painful part of the series.

To this day I'm kinda baffled by Mandy Patinkin's comments. I mean, the show always seemed pretty explicit about what it was right from the get go, so I have no idea what he expected. I can't help but wonder if there were issues behind the scenes and that was just a cover; especially considering how harsh he was about it in interviews, seemed like there was some bitterness there. Also, you quit because the violence and death troubled you, but then you go on to star in a show about terrorism and prisoners of war? Oh... well okay then.

Mandy is a primadonna who has a habit of leaving shows. He did it with Chicago Hope too. He should have known what he was getting into with a show called Criminal Minds. He probably thought the show would die without him. Fortunately his replacement ,Joe Montegna, understood his character and what the show was about. The show thrived for 12 years more. So much for Mandy's opinion.

I think his problem was more the gratuitous violence against women, like I loved the show but even I could see that the way they shot scenes of men being held hostage or tortured was very different from the way they shot the scenes where women were being raped, killed, or beaten.

Sarah Michalle didn't like how they turned Buffy in S6 but let's be honest, it was realistic. I mean, the girl was in heaven and was forced to came back from the dead . It was harsh for her. So i got why the characted ended up in a cycle of sadness and kinf of self-destruction. I liked it because it was a good risk to take and also because it made Buffy imperfect so it was a turn for the character. We saw her in every facets. I think that it made her evolve and hardened. And a true hero can fall in darkness or lost its way, but always get back even stronger. PS : And what i liked even more was a relationship with Spike in the way that in their twisted and dark relationship, she ended up having feelings for him. In all this mess, he succeded to slowly have a place in her heart. That's unbelievable.

I also liked that they did that with buffy's character, so I'm not sure why sarah didn't as an actor. Like you said, it made so much sense, given that when buffy was brought back to life, she said the reason for her being unhappy about being bought back was how she was in a good place and at peace in death, which to her was in complete contrast to her life when she was alive, which was riddled with death and violence. Going from being in a peaceful place, only to be woken to find herself in a dark place where she had to literally dig herself out of her own grave is a traumatising experience, which made buffy seem more human. I loved that scene when she told the gang about how she felt about being bought back, the mixture of shock, confusion, disbelief and guilt willow felt at realising despite all their efforts to resurrect buffy, buffy in the end wasn't even happy about it, and I remember crying a little at that for some reason. For the first time I saw complete vulnerability in buffy, and I loved it. Willow not being able to understand whether she did the right or wrong thing in resurrecting buffy after buffy revealing to willow's shock that she was actually happy after dying made the scene even more emotional.

Agree with you guys. Season 6 was sometimes difficult to watch but I loved that it was one of the first show to portray depression and PTSD so realistically and accurately. And she did come out of it stronger, season 7 Buffy was absolute badass and unstoppable.

I actually feel pretty happy that Shailene Woodley feels that way about her show I heard somewhere that it wasn't till near the end that she began to not like it as much due to the content that was being showed while at the very beginning she didn't mind it at all. I once was a fan of that show and watched the first season yet didn't keep up with the seasons after that but honestly I'm relieved to hear her say that because what I saw through the commercials and some episodes that I may have saw here and there it was getting so very stupid and so very pathetic and so very unrealistic. I mean did everything and everyone have to have sex and wind up like Amy? It makes me respect Shailene in that way. :)

Evangeline Lilly never hated Kate!! She was just upset about what the writers did with her character in one episode where Kate got jealous of seeing Jack with Juliet so she slept with Sawyer. She felt that moment cheapened her character. Other than that I got to meet her last year and talk about Lost and she loved playing Kate and her time on that amazing show! Ugh...stupid.

Serena was annoying but at the same time she always tried to be nice to everyone, it seemed like she was always the victim of others, even when she tried to do the right thing. I just hated when she would stoop to the other character’s levels.. her niceness was kind of annoying though bc she was very easy to manipulate and she was too trusting.

The Penn Badgley one is a bit different - there's a distinction between disliking your character as badly written or having objections to the content of the show and disliking reactions to a character (and what those reactions say about society). The thing is with male villains, especially if they are played by somebody who looks like he does, it almost doesn't matter how they are written, somebody will romanticise them.

She got an Emmy in 2007 and then the next year didn't want the Grey's team to put her up FOR CONSIDERATION. Do you understand? Do you know the difference? Do you know what the word CONSIDERATION means? She had the right to do that, and thus she wasn't even up for a nomination in 2008, because she didn't want to be even considerated. Like Ellen Pompeo who plays Meredith has been put up FOR CONSIDERATION every single year since the show started, but she has never gotten a nomination for best lead actress.

For what she said it seems that she believed that other actresses had better material to work with and development so they deserved to be nominated. Grey's Anatomy's producers and writers took offence on that as if she was being ungrateful for what she was given. They could just actually nominate someone else instead of treat her like a "diva". I think it had something to do with diversity, that the show is good in it but at the awards they only suggested Ellen and her and she knew others did better jobs, or she said something like that.

It's things like this that makes me lose respect for celebrities. They get the life they dreamed of getting and then whine about it! You're portraying a fictional character, and apparently if your character or show had great ratings, then you succeeded... Stop crying about it and do the job you wanted to do, which was act! Now, I know some roles are more stressful than others, such as what, Heath Ledger went through while playing The Joker, or maybe even, Penn Badgley with Joe... But, there should be a way to shrug off that character's stress levels when you walk off set... And it's ONLY those who I do feel sorry for and are grateful for them putting their minds and bodies through so much stress in the name of entertainment.
