Definitely. The whole ride is impressive but as soon as I looked down at his feet and saw the turn table, I could never see that animatronic the same. They should have either elevated him a bit so you can’t see the floor he is standing on, or put something in front of the feet.

I love the way the animatronics move now. When I saw hondo I thought he was real. I understand using the visual projection so facials are easier but I dont personally like it. Cause with the projection I can still see the blank face under it and it just looks weird

believe it or not they are working on this. With the advent of 8K its another step for realism.... yes, they have some 8k that would blow your mind. if you like, check out an illusion called " the wave ".... this 8k screen covers the whole building. My son (who is autistic) loves Lightening McQueen. When the Racing Academy first opened, I knew I had to take him to see it, but I was worried it would be too simulating for him. The staff was very accommodating in getting us seats so that if we had to leave abruptly, we wouldn't disturbed others. Let's just say, I've never seen my son in such awe of a show and when it was done, he wanted to see it again! Thanks to Disney!

This is just my opinion, I feel like Kylo Ren’s animatronic is a little bit to smooth, if that makes sense, his character doesn’t feel as aggressive as Adam Driver’s performance. The fluidity of the animatronic makes him look like Elsa

@@sundae_z We know. But if they could project the image onto their faces so perfectly even as they move, surely they could project the lighting in the rooms to not land on the faces, so as to make them dimmer and the room brighter?

Good lord. These audio-animatronics have come such a long way in a few short years.. I can’t imagine how much better they will become in another 10-15 years. The really new ones, like the Avatar shaman lady, have such fluid movements they almost look real. As cool as it is, it’s also extremely terrifying.

Actually, the other day I thought "What will be next for Disney World?" And realized that they could take all of Disney World and Land and process them into a VR headset, and make it so that anyone can go to Disney at any time, making there be no need for Disney theme parks! Buuut, the VR headsets cost more than park admission, only because you get to keep the headset forever.

She is really impressive. But one way to determine whether or not she is one...is if she malfunctions. I’ve never seen it in person, let alone been to Disney World, but I’ve seen it on some of TPM’s other vids, and sometimes it’s pretty obvious that she’s not a hologram when she breaks down.

honestly when i went on the pandora river ride, i was blown away with how big the Na'vi Shaman animatronic is! her arms are quite long and it really puts into perspective how tall a standing Avatar would be!

The first time I went to Disney World, at the end of the first day, my dad and I went on 'it's a small world'. At the very last part of the ride, the ride suddenly stopped, but the music and animatronics were still working. Might not be the most exciting, but it really gave me time to look closely at all the details!

Fun fact, when the first PIRATE OF THE CARIBBEAN movie open, Disney decided to not just update the ride but to humorously surprise fans by having Johnny Depp lose as Capt. Jack Sparrow sitting on the chair and then just spring to life and greet fans. A lovely surprise for guests, huh??

The Elsa animatronic is one of my favorites, minus the projection face. But considering the Belle animatronic being developed for Tokyo, and the inevitable refurb to add references to Frozen 2 (which I found VERY disappointing), they could easily upgrade her to have a convincing physical face.

In toy story mania we used a fast pass last time, mr. potato head had always been my favorite part of the ride, I didn’t know if they brought him back or not but when I heard the voice of don rickles I immediately shoved my face between the uno cards just to catch a glimpse of him

i remember when i was 7, i went to disney land in florida. i was so impressed by the animatronics facial movements, i asked a staff member how they got the animatronic to move like that, but to keep the magic alive for the rest of us, she told us the animatronic was really alive, but i wouldnt stop asking lol

Am I the only one who doesn’t love the way the look of the animatronics with projected faces? Something about the contrast of the face with the body throws me off!! I looovee the traditional ones and they’re just more impressive to me

I feel like the Lightning McQueen animatronic is maybe like the body or parts of what they used to use in the lights, motor, action show before it closed down. Like the year before the show closed they introduced Lightning McQueen and Mater to the show. I remember going and see them when I visited Hollywood Studios when I was little, but I was also apart of the generation of those Disney Channel Commercials. You know the really really good Disney Channel. 2005 to like 2014 was the best show era.

My favorite animatronic was always the buzz lightyear at astro blasters in California. I always thought the projected face was a really cool way of displaying his head inside the helmet. It also worked well on the dwarves, and I loved it on the rock trolls from frozen. The human characters from frozen, however, are not a good use of the technology in my opinion. When you have a character with visible skin on their arms and neck, the glowing face and the seam down the edge of the projection really looks off. Even if we got less movement out of them, I would've far preferred something similar to the animatronic faces from ariels undersea adventure. Those blew me away when I first saw them.

I remember when Mr. Potato head was being moved from the old Toy Story Mania ride. They had a sign on there was a reward of '10 bazillion dollars' if found.

Disney actually used projecting mapping long before Buzz. They first used it back in 1969 with Madame Leota

Just came on your latest video cause i wanted to make sure you'd see my comment and to share a story. I just wanted to thank you. I'm from Brazil and last month i left the country for the First time in a trip to orlando and the Disney parks. I always loved Disney and all it represents and my dream since i was little was to go to Magic kingdom and see that fireworks show at the closing and gosh as soon as It started i was Full in tears. I also went to epcot and animal kingdom and Hollywood Studios and they're all amazing, i Felt like i was in another world. Everything is Just so beautiful. So, we just had one day in each park, so i kinda accepted i wouldnt see everything, before the trip i would always watch your videos just that i would know what i wanted to see and walk in, and your videos are so complete and Well made that when i got on the parks i already knew what i would do, so It saved me a lot of time that i spent having more fun with my friends, and bragging about knowing whats the most advanced Disney animatronic. May be a silly story but i want to share It and thank you anyways. Never stop making these videos, and have yourself a "Olá" from Brazil.

I think this would be a great story to tell so here we go. I was about five years old when I went to Disney World for the first time. My family was in aware that sometimes on the rise the carts keep moving and you just have to hop on one. My mom my grandparents and I all went on the haunted mansion. My grandma was the last to board but she got in a tizzy trying to decide who she wanted to sit with between her husband a.k.a. my grandpa or my mom and I which I don’t know why she would sit with us if my grandpa was going to be alone but whatever, Anyways she got so stressed out with her decision that our cart was basically starting to go on the ride so then she started screaming for help even though there are about five cast members around that could’ve just stopped the carts behind us and our cart. For some reason this girl who is new there shut off the whole ride all the lights came on and everybody had to evacuate immediately all because my grandma couldn’t decide who to sit with.

The Shaman of Songs was one of the Most beautiful animatronics I have ever seen when I went to Disney last Summer. It was definitely the highlight of the Ride, I wanted to ride it again. (P.S. You should do a video about the longest wait times at the park)
