2001 was an interesting year. Miss Universe (an American-owned pageant) was hosted by the Brits, while Miss World (a British-owned pageant) was hosted by an American.

I may be in the minority, but I absolutely loved the two years (1997 and 2001) where they had the contestants in their own clothing for the top 10, rather than the usual sponsored dresses.

In my opinion the pageant was FAIRLY judge. She had home advantage but she won fairly.

This is the most obvious cooking show in pageantry. USA is even stronger in Q and A than the winner. And Greece is is stronger in all aspects than the winner - beauty, poise, q and a.

Yes she seemed to be green eyed and have received her beauty from her Afghan Hindu mum which seems to be similar to Aishwarya Rai who too had blue green grey eyes and sharp features.

@@NareshKumar-pc8yb Now I know why she's so blessed with beauty inside out.She resembles her mother,her hair,her complexion is similar to that of her mother.Her height she got both from her father and mother who were both tall and of medium height and had a lovely figure like her mum too.However it seemed that both of her parents had brown eyes so now I know from where she's gotten the beautiful eye color which is a mix of green,grey,blue.Who knew there might be someone of foreign descent in the family ancestry with great looks and thus she inherited this.Her daughter Aaradhya on the other hand looks great but didn't get her lovely eye color and the family's good looks entirely

Miss Russia actually wasn't the main winner, it was supposed to be Oxana Federova who appeared but because she was busy she was sent the following year

Agree. Puerto Rico's only reason for standing out is because she's from the host country. They even gave her the special awards to back her up and make it seem she's deserving when it's all on video and the universe can see that she's obviously not.

Naomi Campbell and Elle Mcpherson as the presenter, OMG what more could the fans ask for? They boost so much edge and excitement to the pageant, what an iconic moment in the history! Please get rid of Steve Harvey who keep bringing back his annoying notorious scandal each and every single year! His joke is not funny but cringey and full of himself! Nobody cares if he has redeem his failure or not, NOBODY except himself.

Hallo meine liebe, ich bin gerade auf die Idee gekommen dich mal nach Fotos aus 2002 zu fragen. Warst du zufällig auf der Miss Germany Vorwahl in der Halle Münsterland in Münster? Ich war auch dabei aber habe kurze Zeit später einen schweren Autounfall erlebt den ich nur knapp überlebt habe. Daher ist meine Hoffnung, dass du eventuell noch ein Foto von mir hast. No southeast asian countries? Things sure have changed in recent years with so many of the top 15 are from Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia. Not too many Europeans make it to the top 15 anymore.
