By listening to the radio? It is clearer in the cockpit than on youtube videos. Also, knowing what you are going to hear and transmit makes it easier to understand.

C&S Aviation not sure about jets but it sounds pretty much the same as you hear on youtube videos. atleast in a cessna 172R
@csaviation9013
@csaviation9013 7 жыл бұрын
It will depend on the aircraft radios too, I don't have much experience in Cessnas, but i've flow the Grob 115 and the radio is slightly clearer than in these videos. In gliders too, the sound is slightly clearer.

I would give second place to China Airlines "Dynasty." That just sounds so impressive. One former call sing that was funny was ValuJet's "Critter," which referred to the anthropomorphic airplane that was their logo. There is a movement among aviation fans to get Air Wisconsin to adopt the callsign, "Cheese Head," but there has been no success to date.

Capt. Joe, great lil' video, as always. I have a favorite. The Hawaiian Airlines daily non-stop from Honolulu to New York is flight 50. Pilots and controllers often ignore the official radio designation of “Hawaiian 50” and use the call sign “Hawaii Five-O” to pay homage to the classic (and reboot) TV police drama. It’s technically incorrect radio procedure, but how can they resist? Steve McGarrett would be proud. Book ’em, Danno!

Hey Captain Joe! I have a question: when working for an airline and transitioning from copilot to captain, how does the transition work in terms of what you fly? So say the airline has A320s, A330s, A350s, and A380s. Would one do copilot A320 to captain A320 to copilot A330 to captain A330 to copilot A350 to captain A350 etc.? Or would it be copilot A320 to copilot A330 to copilot A350 to copilot A380 to captain A320 to captain A330 to captain A350 etc.? One other question: how does the lottery for what routes a pilot flies work? Like I know an American Airlines 767 pilot who does only the JFK-MXP or maybe that and one other route. Especially how does to work for a shorthall plane that may do LHR-FRA-LHR-DUB-LHR-AMS-LHR-ZRH-LHR in one day? Do shortfall pilots get more roots so they can stay with one plane for more time in a day? Thank you so much! -Ben Kohl
