Best drummer and Rock drummer are 2 different terms. This is an incomplete list of drummers and based on personal opinion. So it is ok for him/them. One of the terms used here to judge is "Brutal drumming" !! No mention of how good they are in improvisation and how versatile they are, meaning they can match up & play with blues players and Jazz players etc. and come up with interesting propositions while making a composition. To be a rock drummer is quite easy compared to becoming a jazz drummer. As per my little knowledge, only three guys (who are not in this list) are having some level of basics in Jazz drumming (it's pretty tough, brutal and you will need your sense of improvisations to impress the other 2/3 major players to jam with you i.e. the lead guitarist, the Bass player, the keyboardist and lastly the Vocalist). These are Khaja Kamal Moinuddin of Miles (before Mahbub ur Rashid), Pilu Bhai of Renaissance and Turjo of Miles. From my personal connection, I know that before coming back to BD, Turjo got his basics started with Jazz drumming. If you are a jazz drummer you will able to play with any type of band or musician smoothly irrespective of genres because Jazz will teach you all the basics & versatility. If you think playing double bass and bpms are major criteria to be a good drummer then I would not engage into further discussion at all. Lastly, pure heavy metal in Bangladesh started with Rockstrata here in 1984-85 and you morons have omitted the name of Mahbub ur Rashid (Kana) ! This is nothing but a sheer stupidity as many of these drummers you have mentioned, are his followers like anything.

Considering this is his personal opinion of HIS top 10 drummers of Bangladesh i will go easy. I think somewhere someone said Turjo of miles is a pop drummer. Funny because he played double bass drums covering everything from Sepaltura to dream theater flawlessly back in the early 90 is. He could and still can play circles around some of these selections. Anyway, good list but some of them are not as good. They can play fast and some great studio drummers but they lack proper time management, originality and stage performance.

You have missed three legendary drummers of Bangladesh... 3) Rumi Rahman [(founder member of Aurthohin), Ark, Legend, Akhra, Dolchut]. 2)Ehsan Elahi Fanty ( founder member of Feelings and Nagar boul). 3) Milton Akbar ( founder member of LRB). And FYI zimi portnoy jst simply plays whatever was played by Ehsan Elahi Fanty. Nothing new , creative or innovative of his own..... Honorable mentions( turjo-miles) (Mahbub-rockstrata)
