It would screw up the edge for sure and that made me cringe, however it wouldn't be hot enough for long enough nor widespread enough to effect the heat treat. I always use the back of my knife (90 degree spine) to strike a ferro usually with the pullback method it uses bigger muscles than a factory striker (so you can do it even with cold fingers) and you get great hot sparks and fire in one trike if you prepare tinder correctly/

Titan, if your going to sell some gear get people who know how to use the gear. No one who has a clue how to use a feroceum rod would strike it like their chopping wood, not only is it not effective it's good way to loose a finger and to drastically shorten the life of your feroceum rod.

I always remember to pack my 20 pound cast iron survival skillet with me on my long backpacking trips. I am making a personal recommendation to everyone who has ever gone on long trips over steep and rocky terrain to never forget your cast iron skillet. These skillets double as cooking ware and a survival weapon. You never know when you will need to kill a bear and then cook it.

That "Titan Survival Gear" surely knows how to make it sound like an average product of theirs, that you can get the same but cheaper, somehow is super superior to anything. I mean, if you already are carrying a fishing hook like that around with you, you can carry some damn line as well. And you are already carrying paracord, there's no need to have it on your ignition steel as well.

Something you didn't mention is a good Merino wool blanket. When people are found dead, its mostly from lack of shelter. Frozen or roasted to death. Point is a good blanket can protect you from the elements so you can focus on finding help, water, and food.

Hi. Gute Auswahl an Gegenständen. Schönes Werbe Video. Es gibt aber auch wahnsinnig viele und sehr gute Ausrüstung außerhalb der USA. Manchmal lohnt es sich den Horizont zu erweitern.

I do not like paracord. I carry a 15ft climbing rope, a pair of 3 foot long climbing rope prussic loops, various pieces of cotton, or nylon clothes line, a bit of bank line, and always have my fishing kit, with its braided fishing line. I carry a Mora companion, and a Mora robust. a 20in wetterlings, a laplander folding saw. My fishing kit, thats always with me also has a pair of game sheers to make life easy, and a multitool. I also have a tool roll thats not always with me, That has a froe blade, a 1/2in and 1in auger, a draw knife, and a few chisels.

I never understand paracord, poeple where always so hyped about how great it was but when i actually tried using it for a while it sucked. Was a pain to cut since you always had to singe the ends immediately to stop it separating and it stretched alot and knots you tied in it were pretty well permanent.

Dang it must suuuuuuuck to be a marketer when a ferrocium rod comes across the board. "uh, like, I guess... I mean shit, it's a firesteel. They're all made of the same stuff, fuck it, uhhhh hey I got it! Put a whistle on the handle, that'll show our competitors!" Meanwhile, the guy in the factory that stamps out the rods that all different companies sell: 🤨
