I've always loved Jib Jig. Not sure why, but it just sticks in my head. It was a perfect start to an awesome adventure.

I almost feel like Stickerbush Symphony has to be excluded from all lists because its usually ALWAYS #1 ( which is it should be ) but it would open lists up to some other variety. There are actually alot of songs from DKC 3 that I really enjoy ( Water World, Hot Pursuit, Rocket Run, Big Boss Blues is SO good ). Two needed Bayou Boogie in there somewhere. Maybe even Rattle Battle's remix of Gangplank Galleon.

That "horn" sounds more like an electric guitar. You can ever hear the snares as they're being played.

The number one was a given I guess... I never learned to appreciate it in-game, only after I heard that people like it a lot I listened to it more and got to like it too. Snakey Chantey, that's my personal number one! Every time I would play the game I couldn't wait to get to Rattle Battle just to hear that great song! It is such a lovely ray of light in the middle of the quite depressing swamp world. On this list I really like Forest Interlude and Mining Melancholy, others never stood out for me as much when I play the game. But great video, I really enjoyed watching it!

Interesting list, with an obvious final choice, though, considering how many people love that track. It's cool to see some of Novakovic's compositions end up on here, since people seem to hate her work. I have to say though that some aspects of the DKC soundtracks have always felt pretty cheesy to me, namely in 2, where I swear some of the tracks sound like Enigma and Vangelus's new age synth love child (Stickerbush is a prime example).

Would have been really mad if Stickerbush Symphony wasn't number one. Knew it from the beginning this song is just beyond awesome. Always thought it's called Bramble Blast but thats the level where it plays. :D

It's hard for me to not have Jungle Hijinx up there. Maybe because it's that first level, but it always gets me pumped up.

Oh man, you really can't go wrong with the DKC soundtrack, it's almost cliche at this point, but I still never ever get tired of listening to it. You're making me want to play through the series again. Thanks for the video. I liked most of the bottom 5 picks you chose, and I mostly agree. The top 5 of course were no brainers. My fave that didn't make it was Bayou Boogie. Yet another one that used background level sounds as part of the music. Amazing how well DKC2 especially executed that to integrate the music and the level perfectly. You should, at some point, feature the GBA DKC3 soundtrack in some way. The water track there is a remix of Aquatic Ambience that is quite good!

Music is one of my favorite parts of all games! Couldn't disagree with this list at all

My four favorites from each game, from worst to best: DKC1: Bad Boss Boogie (29/8 time signature and absolutely frantic), Northern Hemispheres (perfectly captures the feeling of being in a blizzard), Aquatic Ambiance (one of the most relaxing pieces of music I've ever heard), Fear Factory (pressure and the choral bit halfway through). DK Land (the only DK Land game with original tunes): Chimpanzee Clouds (makes you feel like you're in the sky), K. Rool's Acid Punk (pretty awesome boss theme), Ancient Beaver Bop (a catchier and better Voices of the Temple), Great Girder Grapple (it just feels so epic and cathartic, and most of it is in the weird key A-flat minor). DKC2: Bayou Boogie (incredibly calm), Forest Interlude (it feels so peaceful), Krook's March (the build-up in the tune and to the final boss is amazing), Mining Melancholy (I love unconventional percussion--this is pickaxe percussion). DKC3 SNES: Northern Kremisphere (tense and foreboding, sounds like the Canadian wilderness), Rockface Rumble (took inspiration from Mining Melancholy and awesome electric guitar), Cascade Capers (feels like a dangerous waterfall, and nice note progression), Water World (suitably creepy for the underwater stages, plus, it's a waltz, and part of it is in the weird key of A-flat minor). DKC3 GBA: Cavern Caprice (makes for a great, quiet, cave atmosphere), Cascade Capers (sounds beautiful for waterfalls and weaker sound chip), Mill Fever (industrial, but interesting effects and great rhythm), Stilt Village (just beautiful, and an awesome first level tune). DKCR: Muncher Marathon (despite its short length, a great, frantic chase tune), Feather Fiend (one of the only decent boss themes in the game is tense, industrial-ish, and great), Mole Patrol (alternate Rocket Barrel theme, and pretty exciting), Mine Menace (main Rocket Barrel theme, jazzy, and made me love Rocket Barrels because I wanted to hear more). DKCTF: Seashore War (David Wise's new favorite tune he composed, and absolutely beautiful), Irate Eight (amazing chase music for an amazing chase--those drums and horns are epic), Frozen Frenzy (metallic percussion and elements from Fear Factory, Krook's March, and Mining Melancholy to create the best factory tune in the series), Stickerbush Symphony Returns (the quiet savannah feel and the real-sounding instruments make it beautiful, calm, relaxing, and my favorite tune in the entire series).

Ohh man you guys listed all of my favorite songs! I still listen to the DKC trilogy's soundtrack often and love it to death. Your reasons for including each song in the top 10 were really good, too. My personal top five are Mining Melancholy, Rockface Rumble, Disco Train, Gang-Plank Galleon and Forest Interlude . I also really like Frosty Frolics and Stickerbush Symphony, even though the latter made me cry back then lol Also, Stronghold Showdown, even though really short, sounds really epic.

Excellent list, I love me some DKC tracks! It'd be some time before I could separate which ones I like the most though... I like them all so much I always have liked Frosty Frolics from DKC3, it sort of matches how those snow levels get gradually closer to a full blown blizzard I guess? :)

I just read an interview on a website called "Scarlet Moon Productions" with David Wise, and he refers to the song as "Sticker-brush Symphony" (hyphen included). So, personally, I think that is the actual title if that's what the composer calls it. Whatever it's called, though, I totally agree with it being at the top of the list. It is my favorite song, period. When I heard it for the first time, I actually just stopped, sat in one of the barrels and listened to it for a long time. That was the first time a video game song was actually good enough to make me stop playing. It was the Donkey Kong Country soundtracks that got me interested in video game music in general. I often run into people who tell me "video games are childish". One of my favorite ways of dealing with them is to send them to listen to "Stickerbrush Symphony". I don't think I've ever met someone who actively disliked it. :)

Great list and very nostalgic for me. I never got the soundtracks but when I saw the title of the video Stickerbush came to mind immediately. I might even be suspicious of any list that doesn't rank it first.

I remember Stickerbush Symphony mostly because I had to play through those levels so many times I eventually perfected it, and I was the only person around that could actually complete them so after a point I just started really liking the levels, and especially the music.

Surprised you didn't mention DKC3 GBA. There are some amazing tracks in the remake like Water World, Treetop tumble and Mill Fever.

My personaly favorites are Gankplank Galleon because its Gankplank Galleon and Lockjaw Saga. For real when I was a child, i played this level only for the music.

Dkc 3 gets overlook. Cavern caprice is my favourite from that game.

This is one hard top 10 list to make. DKC2 is by far my favorite game soundtrack and the game I come back to most often, And it's been over 20 years. But I agree with no. 1.

Some other songs I love not mentioned are Fear Factory, DK Island Swing, Bad Boss Boogie, Bayou Boogie, Run Rambi Run, Lost World Anthem, and Crocodile Cacophony.

K Rool Duel, Funky Flightdkc1, Life in the Mines, Fear Factory, Run Rambi Run, Lost World, Snakey Chantey, Flight of the Zinger are among my favorates.

Literally brought tears to me, I miss those days of my childhood where life was just easy and better. So Proud that Stuckerbush symphony got #1 I saw it coming

My favorites aren't too different from the ones in this list, though I'd also have to include Busted Bayou from Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. So glad to hear David Wise return, hopefully they'll bring him back for another future DK game.

One of my personal fav is Krooks March the Castle theme from DKC2 Followed by the battle against the pirate Captain KRool.

I knew that was going to be number one! Can´t disagree with that list, DKC music is second to none. It would be impossible for me to select only 10 favourites.

One track that wasn't on the list was the boss theme from DKC3. That music alway got me in mode for battle!

Primal Rave is the best one. It programs your mind to stay strong in the hardest levels. It's like giving commandos to your inner animalistic spirit.

I think the song from snow barrel blast is great for the danger of that level. Also the song for millstone mayhem is so trancy.
