Watching Giles put his glasses on to kill Ben is truly terrifying. The glasses were his way in many regards to separate himself from Ripper, from violence. Him putting the glasses on, to see his soon to be victim die slowly at his own hands is powerful statement of just how far he will go for Buffy. As well as reminding everyone himself included that something more dangerous even than Ripper is only a heartbeat away when his child is at risk.

Missed the good one with Buffy telling Giles that she had been sleeping with Spike and how everything had been going and Anthony broke into laughter and rather then cutting out that blooper they used it such a memorable scene for me.

Thank you for including the scene where the Mayer visits the Scooby gang in the library and when he threatens Buffy, Giles picks up a sword from the table and plunges it in the Mayer’s chest. Badass Good Guy!

The relationship between Buffy and Giles is one of the greats father daughter portrayals ever put on screen. It was built slowly over time, and was not without its rocky periods, however what came out of all of this was something beautiful and memorable.

The most terrifying moment of Giles killing Ben was that the first thing he did was ask Ben if he could move. That was cold, calculated, and dark as hell. He already decided what he was going to do and wanted to know how much of a fight there was going to be.
