Daddy's little girls and Sometimes in April belong on this list too. Idris Elba is one of my favorite actors he is so diverse in his roles and gives his all in each role. I think the best performance of his career thus far is Beasts of no Nation he was absolutely phenomenal in that role. He deserved the Oscar for best actor in that role. This was a solid list.

I met him and took a photo with him a few years back, he's a really nice guy and you can sense he's different, you can feel a star quality aura around him.

As the commandant Idris deserved at least an Oscar nomination, on of the greatest roles i have ever seen. Very convincing!!

Elba was superb in Luther...cunning, ruthless, cold...he is extremely convincing and honestly fits the role perfectly. Anyone who doesn't think Luther should have been no. 1 doesn't quite appreciate just how well his performance has been in that role.

Yes, please to that. Even though he turned down the rumors. He is a handsome British man and his acting range. He could even play the Doctor (doctor Who). One of the few actors I think could pull it off. But after the disaster that was Series 11, Jodie and Chibnall, I wouldn't touch that with a 39 and a half foot pole. Still imagine Idris as the Doctor saying that line, "Nothing lasts forever" just gave me chills for real.

Finally, he is too qualified to be the next james bond. I mean he did a Ridley Scott film, Prometheus, " The wire" is one of the the top 5 serie in history. He is an incredible actor on "Luther". Danile Craig was nobody before James Bond.

Danstarr69 Thats why i included waterloo cause i loved it so much and even though jack was only in the one episode his lerformance was stand out. He was scared, embarrassed and angry and thankfully he eventually he was happy. Like you said each episode can feel like a movie. I have actually seen harry brown and thouroghly enjoyed it but jack just didnt play the biggest part in that film so i didnt include it. But he torture scene in that film is definetley enough to include him here so i can see why you did.
