Love this list! If I may, I'd like to add the reboot of Battlestar Galactica (2004). It's among the best riffs on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein that I've ever seen.

I like science fiction. I also like post-apocalyptic sci-fi. But this does not change the fact that we live in a society controlled "from the top down" and even if no one orders us, for example, to drink more alcohol or be intolerant, we can be led to do so indirectly and in a very effective way. We are controlled. This is nothing new or special. . Film is one of the very important drivers. Post-apocalyptic movie, zombie movie. Super fun. The fact is that the subconscious does not distinguish between reality and film. So when we then see footage of, for example, an executed man on TV (Like what happened with Gaddafi), the subconscious reacts "yes, I already know that, I've already dealt with that, it's not a problem". The film should be beautiful and communicate something essential, something that touches the soul and the meaning of life. Demanding attention from someone was considered very rude in some cultures unless there was a very good reason for it. How many movies these days could be considered "decent" movies. And how many are just "brainwashing"?
