My front end runs 8 channels of Ward Beck 441E (circa 1972), 2 channels of Warm 273, and 2 channels, of focusrite green. All of this is running into Lucid 88192 converters, and a Lynx AES16e. This is coupled with matching m406B compressors, a 76kt, matching dbx 903s, 163Xs. One thing I'd suggest everyone add to a setup up is a rack tuner. My Fender RT1000 tracks extremely fast, and accurately, which is great while I'm recording, both as a point of reference for the chord and note progressions, but also so the guitarist can tune on the fly, and it operates as a splitter so I can feed 1 signal direct to a 273 as DI for editing and modeling, and the other to amps.

Andrew, this was excellent. My goal is tracking focused as well with similar multi tracking but maybe about half the scale. Your setup is really not ostentatious to me either, and it seems you have found good value sweet spots for your studio. I have a good setup but my holes are (1) power conditioning, (2) interface (somewhat), (3) mic pres particularly. That Revv G20 is a great option. I A/B’d it with the Synergy head and Morgan AC module which is what I went with which is also a fantastic option. Love those Supro’s too!

Hey man thanks for the vid, great stuff. As far as your monitoring do you feel like getting the the trio6 with a sub suit you better than getting the trio11 without a sub? I feel like a 19 x 19 room could get away with the 11’s and no sub. I’m asking because my room is roughly 17 x 17 w 12’ ceilings. I was looking at the trio11 w no sub. Do you think that may be overkill for my size room. Thanks.

Hey Drew, Curious! why the CLA-10’s logos are taped over and no mention of them? Are you starting to have sponsorship issues?
@AndrewMasters
@AndrewMasters Жыл бұрын
Hey Bert, not at all I’ve made videos on these speakers. I love them. The logo looks really ugly and tacky. So the tape is a nice upgrade. The speakers are avantone cla10s and I’m using the amp that comes with them. Absolutely love them. Sweetwater sent me them when I was in a super tough pinch. Sweetwater is pretty much the only sponsor I’m willing to work with, they have no say on any gear I use or cover, and they don’t even know what videos I make until after they’re live.

Someone's going to have to explain the B32 summing mixer. Is it just a $2300 saturation device? What is the benefit of 32 individual inputs going in rather than a stereo mix?
@kennethmurray3452
@kennethmurray3452 Жыл бұрын
Summing mixers are designed to emulate the summation of tracks off of a console. Ideally, you’re converting audio very well OTB - and routing those busses or individual tracks through the summing mixer. You impart the multiple parts of your mix with their own individual stage of saturation (coupled by high end enhancement, clarity and weight from big ol’ input and output transformers) - and then convert really well back into your daw. There are several highly coveted ADC’s with their own fandoms if you haven’t fallen down that rabbit hole. Ultimately, you can gain stage as well through this process since you have the opportunity to drive and attenuate at multiple stages. In a lot of ways - the more weight and character (from a sonic perspective) each sound has - the less necessary a vast multiplicity of sounds is. A bass can be bassier in terms of perceived loudness alone. Now to answer your question more directly - with that information as the foundation, having your entire 2bus head out into a two channel unit and back in would just be a wash of color over the entire mix. A blanket that would lack nuance… but in effect, would create a uniformity that you would mix around.
