I think she's said that she had a lot of misdirected anger at Ariana. It wasn't that it was Ariana's fault, but Jennette was angry at her because she was watching Ariana do everything that she couldn't. I'm glad she's healed from that and figured out who was really accountable for those actions. I'm weirdly proud, even though I don't know her.

I feel like it's really common for teenagers to accidentally misdirect anger at their peers when they have problems going on. It's not surprising that it happened here. Any adult with any amount of maturity would be able to recognize what was actually happening in the past and not still harbor a grudge about it. Which, I'm assuming neither of them do in this case.

The biggest scandal to me was who Dan Schneider turned out to be and his weird fetish with feet and how they were always in his shows in such creepy and weird ways. Nickelodeon should’ve fired Dan Schneider a lot sooner especially when the allegations started to surface. Them not firing him right away showed that they supported him and what he was doing and didn’t care about his child victims. And when Jennette left, they tried to keep her quiet by giving her hush money and a basket. It’s absolutely disgusting that they tried to keep what Dan did a secret. But Jennette didn’t care and spilled the tea anyway and made everyone aware of what kind of a man he was and how disgusting he was. She’s so brave and so strong for speaking her truth.

What parent gives the ok for their child to audition in someone's home? They can say they didnt know what we know now but it's common sense to not go to a strangers house. Imagine getting a job interview only for the person to tell you it's going to happen at their house. Anyone with an ounce of common sense and sense of safety wouldn't do that. Notably to their own kids. I auditioned for a lot of community theater roles and modelling jobs as a kid and teenager. There was an offer for an interview on the guys porch that he made sound amazing. Like he was going to put steaks on the grill to cook as we discussed my "career" in lawn furniture overlooking a lake in his backyard. Even said to bring my swimsuit and sandals for dip in the pool. My 12 year old self knew better and so did my mom....who reported him to the cops. Long story short, he's now in prison. Years after that invite, he committed statutory r**e on at least 2 young ladies who were "auditioning". If you think it's ok to send your kids to a strangers house, you shouldn't be a parent. Period.

Most parents saw nothing wrong with it, most people in general saw nothing wrong with it. Like, that was the most innocent panty raid scenario in probably any media has ever done. It was a talking crab and talking sponge stealing panties/bloomers to be mischievous, not to be sexual in any way. If anyone finds that sexual, they got to be crazy! Like, it's the least sexual reason for a panty raid. I'm a girl btw and I KNOW when something is sexual and that was NOT sexual!

I'm surprised that you didn't include two other instances. Such as a former Nickelodeon writer Micah Wright was blacklisted by Nickelodeon because he wanted to unionize their animation studio. Honestly, he should take it back just to spite the company and the former president Cyma Zarghani.

With the Jamie Lynn one you should've mentioned the speculation that Dan's the father of her daughter. In the side-by-side pictures they do look really similar. I'm not saying it's for sure true but it wouldn't shock me. He's such a creep.

Dan Schneider’s foot stuff never felt weird to me when I watched the shows as a kid, and I guess that’s the silver lining. Kids my age weren’t aware of the sexual undertones until later in life.

Schneider has flaws and issues, including how he sees people. His shows really wants you to never care for geek, nerd, or oddball. Characters like stacey, sinjin, craig and eric, robbie, and even freddie really get the shaft on how they're treated. You're either a total loser or just not worth any respect to anyone. Even power rangers has stereotypical characters but they're fleshed out.
@aaronnantz2289

Yea the one thing that really bothered me about icarly was how freddie was treated like im not judging jennette or anything i know she isnt anything like her character sam on the show. But lile how she abused freddie so bad like that one episode where freddie said he didnt like that one guy's fred videos and sam just like beats him up abuses him he gets mistreated in school and everything im just like this is going to far for a kids show like they put way to much bullying in this. They could have toned down some of the vilonce i just couldnt stand the character sam but i love jennette mccurdy though. But dan schneider is the one to blame for all the abuse he put them through i bet jennette was really letting her emotions out when she was doing those shows glad she is better now though just hope dan gets whats coming to him i just cant belive all this happend.

He also had scenes in iCarly making fun of "mental hospital" people and a scene in good burger that shows it too. He shouldn't have even been allowed to air that anywhere, let alone a "Kids" network. Funny how shows like CatDog and Invader Zim were the total opposite. Like, even tho they had some dark humor and dirty jokes at times, the character who was the weird kid was usually the main character or most likeable. Especially for CatDog, and how they showed CatDog as often being the ones who get bullied or seen as "different and weird' because they're conjoined. I'm not saying those were wonderful cartoons, there were much better cartoons out there but for Nickelodeon, they were definitely the best. Even Rugrats showed that kind of thing as well. There's a lot more I can think of, but for cartoons Nickelodeon actually knew what they were doing.
@jocelynecupcake
@jocelynecupcake Жыл бұрын
Also I have to say, I never really looked at Freddie and thought of him as a "nerd" when I was a kid. He looked just like an ordinary teen boy, but I did find it kind of funny when his mother always obsessed over him and treated him like a little baby doll. I always related to Cat from Victorious for some reason. We're both redheads (I was born as a redhead but my hair changed colors as I got older and now it's light brown) we're both super childish, we're both small girls who don't get a lot of attention, we also both have a weird person in our family, and if you heard my voice I don't sound anything like Cat but if I try to, I really do sound like her.

@ᴀꜱᴜᴋᴀ ᴀꜱᴜᴋᴀ yeah, tell me about it. Andre was fine, but characters like helen grinds my gears for just being written as a black loud stereotype and the fact that if I had a boss like her, i'd snap. Even raven's home had raven baxter deal with a boss who was a jerk and it reached a boiling point that she quits.

It took me a long time to figure out why the foot fetishes were notorious, but as I got older, many foot scenes on Dan Scheinder’s shows fully elaborated on why he’s considered a pervert. If it were the 2000s, no one would talk about it, but technology has advanced today, and many actors and actresses who were in the show that became victims don’t have to be afraid anymore. This man deserves to be behind bars.

I recall there was one time on Legends of the Hidden Temple where the show forgot to set the temple run to having its doors locked and it allowed the contestants to easily go through it and win the grand prize which they weren't supposed to give out more than a few. Pales in comparison to some of these on the lsit, but it was something I remember reading about and thought of upon seeing this video.
