I love how the American version is literally about dress up and guessing the celebrity, when the original Korean version was more or so giving talented singers a chance to show off their vocals, because the K-Pop industry is so focused on visuals to the point half the industry doesn’t sing live anymore. Also, it sounds like most these performances having auto tune, even with it live. Like she’s should have singers, not just anyone.

One thing that I felt Masked Singer did well, or rather, a panelist, was when Firefly was clearly starting to have issues and needing medical assistance, Ken was out of his seat and heading towards the stage. Show be darned, someone needed help and he was going to give it. The backstage crew came out and he was stopped, but the fact remains that he was ready to throw the competition aside when a performer needed help.

The most scandal was a Muppet inside a snail costume and no one of the judges got it 😅

Ken walking off was controversial in itself but Rudy being revealed was just as controversial, because it left the audience as speechless as mimes

In my country we had a scandal after an episode.( I am from Latvia). A rap group was masked and one of the judges was from the group. They got bigger than ever and then suddenly an ex girlfriend of one of the guys came out with abuse accusations so all of their music was taken off the radio.

Hughes guessing Thornton was a result of his kids recognising her voice. Wouldn’t really call that a scandal. What I WOULD call a scandal however is that when (spoiler alert) Macy Gray was eliminated, she refused to unmask. She had to be talked into taking it off

Someone's head fell off in the Australian version as well. But they also managed to keep their identity a secret and came third in season 3

As far as leaks on the show the 1st one I saw was for Michelle Williams the butterfly. The person that leaked it was the man that was held responsible for electricly shocking her. He was fired and he spilled the beans as revenge. It was up a couple days as a comment. The 2nd time it was Rudy Juliani And people were trying to guess which costume he was in. Ken didn't walk out because of politics, he walked out because Juliani had made racist remarks against Asians. Robin followed him because he was worried about Ken.

I actually came up with the theory that Rudy wasn’t supposed to be on the show initially but he was cast at the last minute because the real Team Bad singer Thingamabob was moved to Team Cuddly to replace the singer who dropped out. I even supported my theory with how they did the performance first instead of the clue package first like they usually would as well as the knowledge that how many of ratings stunts have been confirmed as last minute additions.(For example, after his unmasking episode aired,Dr.Elvis/Serpent confirmed that Mickey Rourk was cast at the last minute due to the uncertainty of whether or not Lorenzo Ball/Whatchamacallit was going to be able to do the show due to the NBA restart)

In Australia, we use voice modifiers so you can’t tell immediately. Rita Ora I believe was a panellist sometime in the series, someone also lost their head at one point and Julia Morris did it with a broken back

saras unmasking stuned me like she is hated by alot so her being on there was the biggest shock but she can sing and thats 100% surprising

I personally believe that anyone that is controversial (for whatever reason) or is known to make hateful comments about a group of people shouldn't be allowed on this show. I realize that would eliminate a large number of people, but if this is supposed to be a "family" show, then FOX needs to keep those things in mind,

Best incidents on the Australian version was either when the "wildcard" was revealed to be frickin VINNIE JONES, or the time the mask of one of the singers fell off and the host practically did a "take a bullet for the president" dive to block the performers identity

I hope Rudy Giuliani as the Jack in the Box makes this list for sure and when they did the Road to the Masked Singer before the finale, he got omitted from there and its like the producers were trying to forget about him

I’m actually not surprised that Rudy Giuliani was on there. The show has not been very thoughtful about some of the casting. The show is on Fox after all. I think they were hoping that it would be a distraction from the horrible things he has done and try to make him look more relatable. I think they thought it was going to be great publicity because there’s no such thing as bad publicity they say. They were very wrong about that.

What the crew behind the show should do to prevent this from happening again is that the crew should ban political figures and controversial celebrities like singers, actors actresses and social media influencers etc.

I did catch the end of the Rudy Giuliani episode while waiting for LEGO Masters. My whole family was in shock, and I was shocked to see Ken leave

This show feels like the kind of dystopic nonsense you'd see playing on a TV in a post apocalyptic movie.

It would take a LOT for Ken to walk off the stage. The show is on Fox, so we can't be totally surprised. Although I do think it's a low blow to do that just get to social media talking about it.

I think the thing that I had the hardest time with with the show and why I stopped watching. They all cheered for Mama and honey boo boo, Mama June allowing a sex offender to be part of her life, but walk out on Rudy G. It just makes me angry.

I remember a while ago some musicians on youtube came forward because one of the mask singer series used instrumentals from a cover of a song that were original to the cover. They got no credit for the instrumentals even though trying to get justice.

The fact that the only judges that had a problem with Giuliani having been part of the show, were Robin and Ken, that says a lot about the other two judges. Nick's comments, the horrible choices in contestants, and two of the judges having more air in their head than brains, this show shouldve been canceled awhile ago.

Masked singer AUS season 2 was rigged as hell Wizard, Cactus were both amazing voices, and yet they both lost to Kitten Goldfish somehow didn't outlast Dragonfly It definitely should've been Bushranger, Queen, Goldfish, Cactus, Frillneck, and Wizard in the top 6

It's interesting that you didn't give any mention at all to the Australian version of The Masked Singer actually stealing the music group Halocene's cover of Billie Eilish's song "Bad Guy" and not crediting them or reimbursing them for it - the group's lead singer even released a video comparing their version, which featured samples from songs of theirs which they hadn't even released yet, and the show's version which is a like-for-like replica.

The costumes on Germany's version are so much more lovingly and painstakingly put together.

I work at a family holiday park here in the UK and we have a little show called ‘masked DJ’ we dtand behind this prop DJ desk and pretend to DJ and dance around and the guests have to guess which member of the entertainment team it is, the kids always guess it by our shoes lol

The Australian version also had a case where one of the masks came off early. The host of the show has said that it was one of his favourite moments of the show. A bit disappointing how you guys had an entry about our version, but didn't include that moment alongside a similar moment in the US version.

It's sad that ppl can throw tantrums when things just don't go there way. It's life.

I was not expecting Rudy Giuliani to be on the Masked Singer, nor was I really happy about it. Don't know who thought having him on there was a good choice.

"The Show Is Rigged and/or Staged." Ya don't say. This has been pretty obvious since the beginning at least in the American version. There have been so many times that it's stupidly obvious who the singer is (ex. Lil Wayne) and they're like, "Uh idk is it (random person you've probably never heard of)?" Then on the flip side you're like who the heck is that singing and off the top with no warning they're just like, "Is that 13 time NBA All-Star Dwayne Wade?" or "Is that (Random Tik-Tok singer)?" and the guess is correct. I'm just like there's no way both ways that this show isn't rigged or staged (again I'm just speaking on the American version). Not to mention the couple times that the definite favorite in the runnings lost to someone else because that's how they wrote the finale.

The fact that some people opposed Bobby Brown's casting over some things he did 30+ years ago is dumb my opinion.

You think Rudy was bad? The Italian version had the granddaughter of Benito Mussolini take part. Yes, THAT Mussolini! There was also a politician in the Belgian version who proved controversial, but it was largely overshadowed by the fact that he was actually really good.

They had an opportunity present itself and they thought it would be fun. Yes, Palin said she did it to stick it to the other side but there was no politics involved with her performances. Same with Rudy. Idc who you vote for or what side you support. That’s your problem, not mine. I don’t support any politician so it’s not an issue or even given the tiniest bit of consideration when I’m deciding what I like to watch. If you can’t put the shit aside in order to have a good time, again-your problem, not mine. My family and I stopped watching the US version of The Masked Singer after season 9. We full heartedly thought thr Macaw would win and we guessed/knew who it was. And he was the better singer between the two. We had suspicions for years that the show was rigged especially when the Turtle lost to Night Angel. But season 9 was the last straw for us.
