I want mr karate to be in this game as a boss, but I'd like it to be Ryo. Not only it would be a nice reference to the first ever crossover in a fighting game, it also fits the art of fighting team canonically ending

I honestly think the whole challenge mode honestly sounds quite interesting. Also it gives the fans another chance to see these older kof villians or other snk villians which is quite cool in my opinion. They honestly shouldn’t have done like this but yet they did. As for people complaining this mode messing with the lore and stuff it’s a tad silly. Because it’s not canonical it’s just a challenge mode to see if you can beat the opponent. But then again, people have different opinions and we can agreed to disagree. I’m not going to pick up the game, but I’m happy for those who want to play this game. I would love to see Shion again, but even though 3d animation might do him justice nothing will top their XI animations. Those were probably among the greatest sprites at the time.

NGL, the #1 choice was one I honestly did not see coming. Also, Otoma=Raga in Boss challenge mode would be nuts to fight...yet it's gonna cause people to finally put some respek on her name!

I honestly would want to see already existing playable characters turn into bosses. Like Kyo and IOri would be like their 99 secret battle where you could unlock NESTS Kyo and Classic Iori outfit respectively, or Wild Ambition Ryo with the Mr. Karate II or even Goddess/Princess Athena for Athena.

With Geese coming to KOFXV, I'd love to have his Nightmare form for the Boss Mode.

I fought Kuroko many times back in the day….VERY HARD INDEED!(worked and managed at one of my local arcades for a bit) The fact he had Ryo’s fireballs was scary. Seeing him and Mizuki again would be great! Don’t forget their music for maximum effect.😊

13:00 - Many KOF players knew that the best way is to get up close and personal and whip her like a sack of potatoes, and don't go too far or she'll waste you. That's the beauty of the SNK Boss Syndrome today. :D. The same with the Omega Rugal from Hell. Make him think that you're hitting him and he'll try to block your punches and kicks with his face, but it's dangerous considering how competent Rugal can be if you give him a chance to get stylistic.

Saiki should come back, have a fight with his human form, maybe taking over Ash's body again (since he could've been revived within him) and fighting Dark Ash again maybe too.

Logically sound list! Thank you and I agree generally in this list, personally though I just wish top tier bosses like Orochi get the necessary OP buffs as they should have had in the beginning. Furthermore I would say all the canon main bosses from your honorable mention list as well as Adelheid with buffs should be in the top 10 somehow, perhaps replacing some already in the top 10.

If Maki ends up in a Boss Challenge mode, yeah... that would be hell. But it would also bring up one interesting thing. You did a What if with Andy Bogard so why not with Maki... What if Chizuru died instead of Maki? Knowing Maki and her strength, she would make sure to tame Kyo and Iori and their rivalry.

Characters with variations are the strongest bets that will make an appearance in the Boss Rush mode. Nightmare Geese, Kusanagi, Maki and Mr. Karate 2 immediately come to mind. You only need to add new skins and buffs to base Geese, Kyo, Chizuru and Ryo.

About the number 1 spot actually, I actually wanted a character similar to Mokujin from Tekken where he can copy another fighter entirely or use the same idea Rugal had before KoF was implemented (one famous move of an SNK character), because I'm mostly a lore nerd Plus, it would be funny if Kuroko takes the Mokujin route and have some... adjustments/references to old characters (a.k.a. using the flesh arm and Rasen from old K9999 and Nameless as opposed to entirely copying Krohnen's bionic arm and/or copying the stance and idle animations of both of them, and a new climax on the air that combines both pre-Krohnen characters) A man can dream, but it's fun because I have that kind of OC perfect for KoF lol

I'd kill for more bosses added to this boss challenge that are added as free DLC. Imagine a playable Goenitz and a boss rush mode of him with his destroyed stadium in 96

As much BS he had as a boss, Serious Mr. Karate in SvC Chaos was one of the dopest SNK bosses IMO, and I was glad his theme was literally the only standout of the game's OST. I would really, REALLY love to see that version as a boss in XV or some future game. Honestly though, knowing Kuroko now thanks to this, he definitely is a runner up for me. Just seeing him mimicking the Haoh Shoukou Ken and the Maiden Masher (in a non canon game, but still) sold me in.

It would be really cool if when you would fight orochi Iori/Leona that the background would turn red like it used to.

Geese, Orochi team, goenitz, Mr Karate, Adelheid, Samurai Shodown boss Mizuki or Zankuro. Those are the main ones who I think will be the bosses but if it end up being someone like Shion, Original Zero or Krizalid than I'll actually be surprise.

So happy SNK implementing this challenge mode considering their SNK Boss Syndrome has been lacking since XI. Aside from the usual Goentiz, young Geese, and Krizalid my hope is that Mr Karate, Krauser, and Mr. Big get one.

I think if the game is considered successful by SNK's measure, we'll end up getting more unique bosses. As of right now, I can see Riot of the Blood Iori and Leona being easy adds due to being more or less reusable assets. Same with Nightmare Geese and maybe Classic Billy Kane and Yamazaki. I do feel like next KoF will bring back Krauser with Hein and Luong on a team.

Solid list. I want to see White from Fatal Fury Real Bout Special Dominated Mind, Jivatma from KOF MI2, and Mukai from KOF 2003.

Man, I know he's not dead or is remotely as cheap as many of the bosses mentioned here but I really want to see Kain or Grant from Garou We never got a sequel, at least make possible for players to kick his face with Rock, Terry and Geese in the same team

Man I been asking to see over igniz, zero and krizalid (and Rugal but dream came through) since 2002um. Love those bosses. They're so dope. And krauser and Mr big. I was saying what if they brought the all bosses team but instead of geese (since he's already confirmed) Rugal was the leader of the boss team. Well now we have Rugal coming lol. I still would love to see krauser make a return man. His mightier than thou attitude and grappler mixed zoner wrestler style was crazy. I want Mukai and Shion back in the boss challenge mode. Shion was only in one game, and Mukai was killed by Saiki (who will probably not be coming back, because he got "erased" rather than killed) for no reason. I also want to see Nameless be brought back, as well as having Botan as a boss for the first time.

Leona though, they'll pretty much be Copy Pasted from their Original Counterparts like with the same Moves and reused Animations with slightly New Tweaks etc, While being as Bosses might be the Good Solution, but the real Question is will they're Orochi Forms be part as their "EX's" or a Wasted Character Slot, that's the Problem right there I'm talking about.

Well I sure as hell don't give a f"ck what people think because as much as I love the KOF series in general and that I somehow were able to beat the old KOF bosses despite SNK boss syndrome, the modern KOF games are far more enjoyable to me than the older ones thanks to it's easier difficulty imho.

I love the ideas, although I'm "pessimist" about the boss challenge mode not because it's not amazing that it exists, but about the idea of having many characters and bosses. For the moment I only can see Maki and Orochi Leona/Iori (maybe New faces?) being part of it, and the main reason it's simple that they already exist in the game in one way or another, they don't have to make new characters from 0, and for me that's always going to be the priority. And Otoma=raga of course, I actually would love that because she kicks my ass lmao, so it'd be nice to see others experience that .

I'd love it if Shingo was added to the Boss Challenge Mode, as a nod to his original outing where interrupts the tournament as a single entry. However, make him actually ridiculous. Give his rekas full armour, give his DP priority over supers, make meterless Shingo Kick do a ground bounce like Rock's EX TOP attack, and if you wanna go CRAZY, give him flame effects. He would also work well with the format of Ω Rugal's inclusion; Beat Graduate Shingo and you get a new arrangement of Still Green, and make his alternate outfits either his classic outfit or the tracksuit from the end of the Sacred Treasures Ending. Gimmegimmegimme.

Yes I already empathized how I’d want Wolfgang Krauser back also I agree on Ron coming back to be more expanded on if all these bosses are not single entries Wolfgang Krauser Team should consist of Laurence Blood and Axel Hawk whilst Ron is in NESTS Boss Team with Igniz the Leader and Krizalid. Also I have thought them bringing Mizuki Rashojin to KOF even if Nakoruru is absent in this game and yes Mizuki is real cheap I rage quitted just couldn’t find a way to defeat her an classic and one of the most difficult SNK bosses also if not her how about Gaoh? He is really cheap too from SamSho V and even VI!! Also being a fan of the underrated and forgotten World Heroes we should get Neo Dio. Also I’d like to see another Nostalgia Karnov from Fighter’s History originally a series by Data East now owned by and rights of SNK. The biggest boss though is exclusive to the Neo Geo Battle Coliseum witch has nothing but cheap bosses is Goodman this guy was a nightmare he was basically that game’s version of Igniz on the topic of Neo Geo Battle Coliseum yes I remember King Lion very well as someone who left me salty and raging and I haven’t played the Savage Reign games where he originates from and Mizuchi whom I had a theory would appear in KOF15’s story as part of why the Sacred Treasures Team got together even after resealing Orochi during the end of KOF14 making him clearly out of the picture of KOF15 unless somehow they found a way for Mizuchi a Force similar to the already dead/sealed/out of commission Orochi to enter the plot thus giving the Sacred Treasures Team some validity to get together again against a presence similar to Orochi and yes give Mizuchi the same busted up AI in Neo Geo Battle Coliseum. I also thought Shion wouldn’t be bad he never died just kinda disappeared after getting back at and killing Magaki so I thought that be interesting!! Lastly you are rite we need Orochi Iori and Leona no doubt with their Power and Speed amps while having weaker defense or damage input on them as they were in KOF97 and KOF98 UM!!! Great topic like many other fans I can’t wait to see what they do with this mode the possibilities are endless!!!

I think some good picks for this would be Orochi(either normal or Mizuchi), Goenitz(obviously), Otama=Raga just to give her some legitimacy, Wolfgang Krauser, and Orochi Leona and Iori as a two Phase Boss duo. I will say though, I would like the final team pack to be Team Outsiders: Verse, Re_Verse, and Otama=Raga. I think it would be interesting to play as balanced versions of these bosses, especially with their designs.

I think with how this game seems like a celebration of KOF (bringing back older characters, DJ station with all the music) having more bosses to challenge makes sense. Really hope they add more even if they don’t make them fully playable
