Magneto is everything a supervillain needs to be. He is ruthless, incredibly powerful, has done horrible things, and can justify all of it. Magneto is a survivor of the Holocaust, but not without losing his family and his home, and witnessing first hand what truly horrible things human beings can do to each other. His power of magnetism and his back story earns him his number one spot.

The first scene of first class single handedly got me into comics. The realism of this boy forced to perform “magic tricks” to appease the nazis, and then when he’s unable for his mom to be killed. In front of him. It made me want more.

At 0:09 ,that is the reason why Rogue never ever flew in Bryan Singers X MEN movies,because Ms. Marvel wasn't apart of the deal and not a mutant...she could not have anything to do with Rogue stealing her powers in the movies.

Sammy Lane No. it would only be temporary. Ms. Marvel has cosmic celestial power. She's sort of like a living power gem. When Rogue absorbed her power... Rogue gained some powers that became apart of her mutant DNA.

Fun facts: -Toad is currently a XMan.....well sort of. He is the janitor at the "Jean Grey School for gifted youngers" (the school founded by Wolverine) -Sabertooth is currently an Avenger...the Uncanny Avengers (a team consisting of Avengers and Mutants). The reason why he is on a good guy team is during Axis a bunch of heroes and villians had their aliments switched mentally (good guys became bad guys and vice versa. Carnage became a spiderman wannabee, Iron Man made weapons for profit, Hogboblin became a self help guru, the xmen conquered Manhattan, etc). At the end it was undone except Sabertooth and Havok were protected (forgot how) from returning to normal. So Sabertooth remained good and Havok remained psycho. When a new uncanny avengers team formed. Sabertooth joined

Took me a while, too. BUT he recently like a year or so ago regained his original body and joined Daken’s (Wolverine’s son’s) newly formed Brotherhood.

If I remember correctly, the Maximoff twins didn't leave the Brotherhood, they were put to prison by the X-Men because of their terrorist act. The reason why they got out was because Cap talk to Cyclops to give them a second chance and then inlisted them on the Avengers.

I thought the list would exclude Magento since it would be a no brainer that he'd be number 1 since he's the leader. But since you guys included the movies, then the Phoenix should have been in there since she joined in X3 and was the most powerful.

I would have put Rogue on the list in place of Juggernaut, and given Juggernaut an honorable mention (for making the team w/o being a mutant)

I wouldn't downplay mystiques abilities as a shapeshifter. Being able to mimic and become almost anyone is an incredible power in its own right.

I don't think it works like that lol. It's not like everything slows down when he's moving fast. It's just that from his perspective, it seems like it.

Either because everything about him is fast, including his mind he modified his songs to play music 90x faster to make it seem normal to him or it was just background music and the headphones were accessories to show he's a teenager/college kid.

Dude, he's not slowing down the flow of time. That whole scene probably happened during the first second of the song. You could here the song playing because...it's a movie... "Does he like to listen to very slow music..." -> this makes no sense...Why would he listen to even slower music than normal when "normal" is already so slow for him?

Mystique deserves this place and in a top 10 greatest marvel villains PERIOD!! For the one who doesn't know she can regenerate quickly like Wolverine. Also in the comics, she can shapeshift into objects and animals. She's able to use any weapon and she's a pro assassin. Notice that she had a deadly fight with Wolverine and they both win/lose. I don't know a lot of characters who can have a physical fight against Logan and still alive.

X-men is my favorite superhero team but dang, the movies are so terrible. A huge load of dumps that had to be redone. High hopes for Apocalypse though. Also, funny all my favorite brotherhood members made it. QuickSilver, Toad, Sabretooth, Avalanche and most of all Magneto

I wonder if the MCU will bring him back if they use the Blob? They were a duo like Mystique and Destiny. I had stopped collecting comics by the time Unus was resurrected. I had the comic where he died the first time. The Genosha storyline was after my comic collecting days

Weirdly, at first I didn't think magneto to be my favourite mutant, but when fassbender played his role, he just clicked with me and I thought what a fucking awesome power to have, he is currently my favourite from the x men, I think between him and ronan the accuser from all of marvel. My opinion might change after witnessing apocalypse and the four horsemen.

In the context of the Brotherhood, I would've actually had Raven at number one instead of Erik. She stayed on and continued to revive and lead the Brotherhood, long after Magneto became an x-men.

kevindagame so was the original Batman and Robin, but that was no skin off the DC Universe's bones, if Marvel comics is no longer in control of the X-men, then they might as well be part of DC, therefore Avalanche along with Madame Rouge, Count Spankulot, Magneto, Mastermind, the Toad, Blob, Pyro, Mystique, Black Tom Cassidy, Juggernaut, Exodus, Sabretooth, and Mammomax would be excellent members of the Suicide Squad and just as well, you might even get to see Beast Boy get romantic with Rogue, Kitty Pryde A.K.A Shadowcat, and Jubilee
