Hugo's Amazing tape, that's what you need to look for. It sticks to itself and nothing else. And the best part, you don't have to tell your friends and family to buy you "bondage" tape, YIKES!!!!

That's what it was called, I knew there was an official brand as well although I have heard that bondage tape is sometimes cheaper?

It’s finally regularly available on Amazon so it’s pretty cheap now. Used to be like $20 a roll but is now $10, so not cheap but it’s a big roll and works great.

Great video as always! Not many Christmas but guides for Board game adjacent stuff so loved see things like clothes and board game bags that I haven’t seen before!

@@DrFrankenolly I always thought a board game bag was a bit silly but it's one of the best gifts I've gotten - brings me a lot of joy that it can hold so many and I have a designated thing for traveling to other people's houses.

I have a different experience with that tape. Be careful with the non sticking tape, they dehydrate plastic. When I started in the hobby I used it a lot and now, years later, I open an older box once in a while and discover the front and back cards in a deck are shriveled. Luckily the cards inside the sleeves are ok...but yeah beware bondage tape/Hugo's and sleeves. It may not happen in a month or even two but it will happen, if you have a large enough collection and you do not rotate games, you may get a scary surprise one day.

A manual battery-powered label printer with a good supply of tape tapes to label all those baggies :)

Small, flat tackle boxes for storing small pieces, splurge a little and get them a set of Plano branded ones with removable lids 😍

Other ideas: Nice beverage something (thermal wine glass, thermal Yeti cooler, or something), especially if it has some kind of off-table clip so the beverage can not be on the surface. Dice rolling or component trays that collapse down flat (helps with storage!) Something that holds rolled maps (for playmat storage). Component organizers (like button trays and things). Note: deluxe game trays are admittedly better... Worst case scenario...a gift card to a board game store :).

These are all fantastic ideas. I can't find your other comment but I LOVE glass as a meeple earring. I was looking for a picture of something like that because I feel like there are some potentially really elegant ones out there.

9:40 Well, if you thought far enough ahead to back that Wyrmwood Gaming Table in October of 2020, and you felt lucky that you managed to get the wave that was set to deliver in March of 2021, then well... you'd be out of luck, cause that table ain't delivering before January of 2022!

Fantastic idea for a video! I would direct my wife to watch this one but then she might see how much I comment and most often that has something to do with my interest level in so many games when we probably already have enough…. I’m so conflicted! 😆

Very nice and helpful list. I learned that the small elastics that girls use to make a pony tail work well in binding a deck of cards without damaging the sides of the cards.

Haha, it's served me well. It's a little tight when I want to play something with a 6 section board like Rising Sun, but still room (just) on each of the sides to house some faction pieces. The drawers in the middle make nice impromptu cup holders too if you don't have much in it, but it is decently heavy to move just fyi (my girlfriend can't move it by herself, although I find it easier to move by myself than with someone just based on how the legs stick in)

I just bought a LudoCherry shirt and an art poster of Gloomhaven for my boyfriend. I have a few more things to grab before his birthday, but this video was soooo helpful!!! Thank you!!!

Oh amazing! Great choices :) my parents got me a Ludo Cherry shirt for my birthday actually and I'm quite happy with it. I'm usually a Medium, but took an Australian large (it says US Medium on the tag as well) and I'm happy with the fit, I wouldn't have gone smaller just fyi for the sizing. I'm 6 feet and about 190lbs, and it's a good fit when it's tucked in, a tiiiiiny bit big when it's untucked, but I'm happy with it.

Where did you get the shirt? My kid watched to get some ideas and now that shirt is on his wishlist. :) For those who store games vertically. the elastic headbands at the dollar tree are perfect. Or the fabric headbands if you need something a little wider. The children's 30 piece elastic holders are better for cards than regular rubber bands. They don't crumble and meld with the cards over time or suddenly snap. The crafter's mini storage containers are great for small pieces. The crafter's small bags or the surefresh snack bags are great for components. They even have dice - from minuscule to large foam. And, if you are on a budget but want to bling the game, crafter's glass accent gems and the assorted jewels and gems make great replacements for things like the jade in Gugong or pearls in Everdell.

Haha I wish I could tell you, I picked it up at Value Village for an ugly Christmas sweater party so I feel like it's pretty one of a kind at this point. The very faded tag says something like A La Carte, but if you can track it down I'd suggest starting up your own private investigator business because you're clearly a better sleuth than Jessica Jones.

is a box of bags on here, a box of bags starting out is amazing... later on though.. oof. big ticket item.. get them a 3d printer. if you know their favorite games, get them a playmat.

lol, if my friend got me a table I would pledge immediate allegiance to their House ;p Kidding aside, wow, that Gateleg table is calling to me. How is the sitting situation when fully extended? Can 4 players sit comfortably? (I can't tell if the triangle leg thingies will get in the way of adult knees)

Yeah 4 is pretty good. It gets a little annoying with someone in the middle because the drawers are there (most of my videos I end up sitting splayed out because it's right in the middle haha) but 4 is solid

Idea -1 Lego. Yes those Lego. There are so many amazing Lego sets now geared toward adults that its hard not to find something that brings a smile. A gamer that wouldn't enjoy building a Lego set? Really? Also note that unlike the concern about board games holding their value, if you wait long enough you can always get your money back - oh wait its a gift anyway. ;) They may also hate you for starting them on a collectible that competes for the same board game storage space.
