Drove to Denver from Chicago 9 years ago and stopped in Nebraska that night and was completely amazed at how I seen the night sky. I was 18 and that was my first time seeing that many stars, they looked so close there and in such a dark area. Unfortunately I’ve never seen anything like it since but the memory is there!

Accidentally discovered a dark sky park in Black Mesa. Hopped out the truck to piss and was like dam I can see the rocks and were wet. I started looking around like why is it so bright? Then I looked up

Yes, they have 2 star gazing events a year. I went to one a few years ago.
