I can confirm as a former ice skater that this stuff is hard! You might land the jump thousands of times in practice and then you go to compete or perform in a show and the lighting throws you off a little or the ice is a little choppy or your blade just catches in the ice. The tiniest thing can sometimes throw off your jump and cause you to fall. There's a lot of factors at work there, and it's not always in the skater's control. Even the understudies for these shows are insanely talented, and sometimes they just have a rough night or a rough patch of ice.

I was about to say, I remember watching videos and hearing from others that the ice being smooth is really important for figure skaters to nail jumps/landings, so I had a huge feeling that was in play. I bet you still did really awesome at the show

I saw Disney on ice once. There was a lift in the Rapunzel part. Rapunzel must have forgotten the choreography and Flynn kinda stood there with his arms out for a couple counts. It was pretty funny.

Everybody has mistakes...these videos point out how good the Disney crew, either backstage or on-stage are at *recovering* from them smoothly. That takes a lot of skill and talent.

Those toy soldiers went on flawlessly. Dodnt even care what had happened. And the guy who dropped his drum flawlessly stayed and acted in character, still acting like a toy trying to pick up his drum and acting almost as if it was part of the act. Disney parks dont lack on their cast members. these people are legit entertainers and have some levels of stage acting experience.

Honestly i think how well an ice skater recovers is a great way to see how talented they are (i did figure skating for years and honestly it takes me a solid minute to get up bc id rather lay in pain) they recover so fast and go right back into their routine its super impressive!

My little sister is an ice skater. I never realized how incredibly complex it is. Each jump and turn has so many factors. Your direction, your speed, acceleration, which side of the blade your leaning on, which way you spin, how you land, even changes you make mid-jump all change the type of jump or spin. Not to mention they have to be very careful; that ice is hard, and those blades are very sharp. It's not difficult to accidentally cut yourself or end up with a concussion... I don't care if they fall sometimes, I will always be amazed by what professional ice skaters are capable of, and happy when they're able to get back up! Even if their tumbles can be funny sometimes.

I’m sad they’re entirely redoing Spaceship Earth, I grew up on that when I was really little. I remember that I’d be really happy with the digital utopia that we “lived” in at the end, it would be green and sleek and I just loved it so much that I did it every time. Ah, good days when I wasn’t playing hours on end of video games and spending money on worthless items that don’t have much value to everyone else.

I didn't record this, but I can at least say what happened. So when me and my family went to Disney Land Paris we went to this little part of the theme park called Sitch live where an animated stich would appear on a screen and someone in the back voiced him (Im still shocked on how it works to this day) but anyway stich told a staff member to go over to people he wanted to talk to and ask them some questions, after a few people he got to this man and asked him some questions. After talking stich said "wait... I think I know you... WAIT I KNOW YOU, YOU'RE GALACTICS MOST WANTED!!!" and pulled up a fake most wanted badge on the screen which was pretty funny... Then he called up me. Stich asked me for my name and where I lived, surprisingly I lived in the same place as this man, ill call him Bob. When I said where I was from he asked if I know bob and I said "yea...Hes my dad." The whole crowd couldn't stop laughing and stich couldn't stop screaming, "SAM STAY AWAY FROM HIM HES A VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY BAD MAN!" Then he took a picture of me and ate the camera. Still one of my best moments to this day!

Last time I was in Disney we went on the seven dwarves mine train. When we were going through the cave the ride stopped by sleepy sleeping on the chest and grumpy grunting trying to haul it up. When I worked for Magic Kingdom, Henry @ The Country Bear Jamboree's arm separated and hydraulic fluid was spraying on the guest, I had to do an emergency shut down. Luckily I was there and it only lasted for maybe 4 minutes before the show ended. Maintenance came and we were back up and running within the hour.

I remembered this one time in my life when I was TERFIED OF ROLLICOSTERS (still am today) and we were in the line for the Snow White ride because it’s one of the only rollicosters I like then I see people on the ride and the ride was BREAKING DOWN some times the ride would break done at a DROP Sorry for the bad grammar 😂

Also about the Elsa falling thing, those kind of outfits are going to be heavy and really weird on the ice compared to what skaters are used to. It looks light like it would be fine, but even the normal costumes you see for skaters are pretty heavy, or tight in some places making it hard to complete a turn or jump. Even the slightest turn of your head or torso can quickly change the direction of how you spin!

I remember Disney land California..... My dad took me for my birthday and I will never forget how many times I rode the little mermaid ride... we waited in line for hours together and it was amazing because I barely ever get to see him. On my last trip to Disney World there was a malfunction on Carousel of Progress. We had to watch the 1920s 4th of July scene four (maybe five?) times in a row. By the third time, people were shouting dialogue from the scene (like: “we’re going as George and Martha Washington, dear”) and trying to get out of the ride but the Cast Members were on the speakers telling us we'd never get out of the Carousel unless we all sat in our seats. A very memorable experience!

As a guy who designs robots, I know a thing or two about animatronic technology (I know I’m a 🤓). This animatronic runs on hydraulic pressure. Most of these wires are not actually wires. They are tubes, flowing with hydraulic fluid, which goes to hydraulic cylinders, which are basically motors that don’t run on electricity. A electric compressor is connected to a SVF system, which stands for Solenoid Valve Flow. A SVF Controls the flow of the hydraulic pressure allowing it to flow or not. Basically controlling the hydraulic cylinders. If the tubes snap, the pressurized hydraulic fluid would shoot out, causing everyone to get wet with oil, and causing a lot of money to be down the drain. If these guys are smart they would have a electronic flow meter, which would measure the flow of the hydraulic fluid (AKA oil). If the tubes snap the pressure would be released causing some very fast moving oil, causing the flow measure and pressure Measures to alert a computer hooked up to the ride control system, essentially stopping the ride, and alerting the cast members. I am actually quite surprised they didn’t spend fifteen dollars on a tactile sensor hooked up to the head, to alert the cast members of the head being dangling by a few tubes. But noooo... of course they didn’t did they? Nope 🤨
