Darth sidious : disney will not embrace the darkside of the force.... only the lightside... such a petty.. the sith will be destroyed under disney... they are afraid of parents getting angry over turning their children to the darkside which would make them evil and do horrible things to please the darkside.... a petty indeed... they wont even touch the sith movie idea with a 10.5 inch lightsaber... it would have to be dark in nature from start to end... with ruthlessness so horrible and disgusting it would turn your stomach... farewell my fellow sith lords... we are soon to be long gone and forgotten...

I wish I worked as a Jedi cast member because if a kid said I want to join Vader (or whichever sith lord) I would just pull out a lightsaber and say: “You were the chosen one!” Then battle the kid, some people need to grow a sense of imagination instead of being jerks...

The problem is that Vader cannot speak. The Jedi Master is in charge of directing each child and keeping the show running because he is a face character. If the child turns on him then he cant truly direct the kid anymore and the show could get out of control. Not all of those masters handled it like jerks, it varies depending on the policy Disney has in place to dictate improv methods. Integrating child guests into a show is not easy and bound to be chaotic/imperfect.

Oh yeah, when I went as a kid, he was amazing. My little brother and I would train for hours before we went in order to be able to finally get past Vader’s block and defeat him. We never did. I swear we went so frequently, we had passes, that they knew who we were.

I absolutely love the improv at 5:18 Instead of just standing there letting the poor kid struggle, the Jedi master gives him his saber in a funny little moment. However, the ones that just scold the poor kids for not understanding directions in what is supposed to be a fun event p*ss me off. I'm looking at you 5:55

I agree strongly, the kids are having the funnest day of their lives and these staff members are angry because something thats bound to happen ends up happening, and they deal with it in a manner that only makes the situation far worse. They end up making a kid cry and ruining their day and pissing off their parents at the same time. And all because the kid wanted to throw a couple extra jabs at Vader. Truly a pity that they cannot just improvise and go along with it, As if it's some monumental task to let a child have fun.

The part where the jedi instructor tells you to use the force push, when I did that I actually used force confusion. And I told the stormtroopers "you will not attack me." And their reactions were pretty funny! They both looked at eachother and then said "I will not attack you." And then walked away.

I have actually participated in the Jedi Training before, but it was a few years ago. It was a fun experience for me and I enjoyed it but my little brother did NOT. He was super young and you could easily make him cry. So let me get to the main story. It was finally his turn to fight Darth Vader, but my little brother just started crying. I think he started crying because while the Jedi Trainer was telling him what to do, the trainer was super loud and my little brother apparently couldn’t handle it. If I remember correctly, I think my dad had to walk up and grab my little brother off the stage and it was very embarrassing. But the thing that I will always remember is that after the show, Darth Vader came to us or someone (I can’t remember) and gave my little brother his red lightsaber with Darth Vader’s signature on it.

I once saw a kid who tried deploying the lightsaber. The first time, nothing happened and the Jedi said “try again!” Second time, it went halfway, and the Jedi said “it’s the legendary light-dagger!” Then the kid got it on the 3rd try and it continued. I thought it was a great display of improv from the Jedi.

I was in the Jedi Trials one time. It was my 15th birthday and they still allowed me to go as long as I behaved. I put my immersive improv skills to the test and made it look like an actual Star Wars performance. I was just doing it for the feeling of being alive in the moment but the Jedi master came over when I was done and said, "Holy crap! that was amazing dude!" I never felt any happier on a birthday than that moment.

The “improv” method is much better than the ones where they try to keep the kid in line. I remember when I was a little kid and met the Ninja Turtles at Disney World, and I thought it was the REAL ninja turtles. These are just kids. A lot of them probably think that’s REALLY Darth Vader, which could be acutely terrifying for a child, or if they think Vader is cool then they want to join him. You can’t expect little kids to “stay on script.” If there’s some silly legal liability reason behind this then anyone who works as Darth Vader or a stormtrooper at one of these parks should have to sign a waiver saying “I agree never to sue if a child hits me with a plastic lightsaber.” I would sign that waiver in a heartbeat.

I never got to do this when I was a kid (because my parents never let me and by the time they allowed me to I was a tad too old for it) but I got to watch my younger cousins do this when we went on a Disney Cruise together. It was a Star Wars cruise (forgot the ship) and we’re all major geeks so I was ready to support them and have fun with them the whole time. It was taking place by the back of the ship (keep this in mind) and my aunt, uncle and myself were sitting in the front row (my parents and my little brother decided to stay in our room). Halfway through the show when Darth Vader and Kylo Ren came out to fight the kids, I started feeling weird in my stomach. Seasick. I had been on Disney cruises before and didn’t get seasick before, but that trip was making me get seasick A LOT. For some reason, the seasickness was worse in that moment because we were by the back of the ship. I decided to fight through it and wait til the show was over, because I knew my cousins wanted my aunt, uncle and I to watch them, especially me. They actually wanted me to go with them but I explained that I was too old for the Jedi training, but I wanted to stay so that their experience wasn’t ruined and so I could cheer them on while they had fun. By the time the show ended, my cousins came to join their parents and I by our seats, but they still had to go and take pictures. At that point, I couldn’t take the seasickness anymore. I quickly told my aunt and uncle, and my aunt rushed me to the bathroom where I threw up my guts. When I came out, my cousins went from excited and happy about the Jedi training to worried for their older cousin 😅😂 And no matter how many times I told them I was ok they would refuse and wanted to make sure I had something to eat. It was honestly really cute and I was so proud of my little Jedi’s 😂😊 Idk why I just wanted to share that
