I disagree. They were different. And the overall theme of Easy A, being about sex and whatnot, may be trashy. But her performance was incredible. She did her job as good as she could have done it.

The ensemble cast for Easy A was unbeatable and the writing was great, but she was fantastic. I will always giggle when I think of or hear "Pocket Full of Sunshine." I also confess to rewatching the scene in CSL where she asks Gosling to remove his shirt and loses her mind briefly in response. It never fails to make me laugh.

Her characters are always so real, weird, sometimes fucked up, socially awkward, sarcastic and yet so cool and smart which makes me want to be like her. She's unconventionally beautiful and cute. I think I have a girl crush on her now. :D

Birdman was truly her best performance. It's just not as popular and viewed as Easy A which is why it wasn't #1. but it was her only nominated performance and she was nominated for a reason. I think there will be many more nominations to come for such a young, but sure talent

the oscars doesn't at all define the popularity of a movie. there are a lot of "popular" movies that got horribly negative reviews but are more well known than oscar-winning movies. Birdman is obviously a better movie and one of the coolest i've ever seen but surprisingly and unfortunately a lot of people haven't seen it or even heard of it. ,

Julia Witmer Are I missing something? She was ok in Birdman, I don't think anybody would say her performance was particularly noteworthy in that role, especially compared to Keaton and Norton who seemed to have meatier roles anyway. Truth be told, she got nominated because the supporting actress category was so limp last year. I am a pretty big Emma Stone fan and even I thought the performance was pretty ok. Now I do agree with Easy A as number one, not only did it cement her as a star to watch, she was just perfectly cast. It's literally a role that suited her to the ground and she nailed it. It's also the first time we got a taste of her quick, sassy, sarcastic, no bullshit humour.

I was lucky enough to meet Emma on the set of Aloha while we were filming on Hickam AFB. She is as sweet and spontaneous off screen as she is on. I've been in love with her ever since! :)

I became a big fan of Emma Stone when I saw her hold her own with Michael Keaton in "Birdman" (2014). She is beautiful and ultra talented. I was glad to see her win an Academy Award for Best Actress for her work in "La, La, Land" (2016). She definitely deserved it very much so. She has a bright future ahead in her ongoing career and I can't wait to see what's up next for her.

Because that was the idea. They were two ordinary people, not expert musicians. Mia was an actress and Sebastian was a pianist, none of them were expected to be extraordinarily good. The movie wanted to get a realistic vibe showing them as two orinary people that can ordinarily sing. Even the director (Damien Chazelle) said so.

I'd say her best performances are Easy A, La La Land and THe Help. I haven't seen all the movies you show, but her role in Crazy, Stupid Love also got stuck in my head. I can't believe my memory had erased that the actor who performed that wonderful scene with her was Ryan Gosling! It's crazy how many times they've performed together and they look great! On another note, she is the most versatile actresses on screen nowadays and she has quite a unique voice speaking, which is completely lost at Spanish dubbing, unfortunately.

I love The Rocker, it's a funny film, has a great soundtrack and Emma's costumes are the outifts I would wear all the time if I could get that kind of clothing
