I love John's story of Julian bringing home a drawing. John asked "What is it?" Julian replied "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds." John said "That's beautiful." So he wrote about it which is the point of the song. He discusses it on The Dick Cavett Show which can be found on You Tube. Too bad the young singer left out the best lines.
