Demon Copperhead was great but hard. I’m glad I listened to it because the performances made all the difference to keeping me going. It has sadness and happiness and realism. The characters are both heartbreaking and special. It stays with you. I loved The Last Devil to Die. My favorite of the series. So many special notes and quotes from that one. Another favorite was The Adventures of Amina Al-Sarafi. Others of note - Before the Coffee Gets Cold, Lady Tan's Circle of Women, The Ferryman, and Miss Benson's Beetle. So many great 😊reads out there!

Hello! I listened to Demon as well and it was such a great way to consume the story. I keep hearing the 4th in the Thursday Murder series is the best, I really need to get on with it. Thank you so much for watching 💕

Thank you for recommending Iona Iverson’s Rules For Commuting. No other Booktuber has mentioned this novel and I’m so glad I read it! It was wholesome and funny. Very enjoyable ❤

I read A Boy and His Dog on your recommendation! Wowza! I really explain how much I loved it! Those plot twists - I literally said Whoaaaa!!! Didn’t see either of them coming. So thank you, thank you! I may try another of Fletcher’s but I’m not sure he can top A Boy and His Dog!

Glad you loved Demon Copperhead, I hated it so much! Most despised book of 2023 for me. Loved Remarkably Bright Creatures and Marcelius so much. Favorite!! Loved Frozen River another favorite. Happy reading in the New Year.

You had a good year! I have read 4 of the books in your favorites - DC, Pod, Triptych and Remarkably Bright Creatures. Of those, I enjoyed Pod the most but Marcellus was my favorite character! At this point in my life, I read purely for entertainment and to escape reality. I want a book that grabs my attention, that I don't want to put down and want more of the story even when the book is finished. I had a good reading year in '23 - 123 books! A few of the best fiction were: The Snow Child by Ivey, The Quiet Game by Iles, The Terminal List by Carr and A Darkness Absolute by Armstrong (You need to read City Of The Lost first). Thank you for sharing your top reads! Hope '24 is another enjoyable year in your reading journey!!

Demon Copperhead was also on my favorites list ... honestly, I have been saying that for so many months that it is anticlimactic at this point lol. Also top of my list is Last Devil to Die (Book 4 of the Thursday Murder Club). I have never given a cozy mystery 5 stars-- this is the first. It broke my heart and put it back together again. So well done! Cheers to another great reading year! Mine has started out well-- yours too?

I’d say my favorites from this year in no order are: Station Eleven Dark Matter The Traveling Cat Chronicles The Martian Horse The Heart’s Invisible Furies Remarkably Bright Creatures Parable of the Sower Lancelot Indian Horse The World Played Chess The Island of Missing Trees The Island of Sea Women Harry’s Trees My sister lent me Demon Copperhead after she DNF’d it and it sits in my drawer. I’ve seen you talk about it more than once. Maybe I’m incentivized to read it now? Enjoyed your list!
