XFA-27 is actually Phoenix's signature fighter. It might as well be called XFA-27 Phoenix/Scarface.

Man, it is so hard to get night raven in Ace combat 3, although as it is the last OP aircraft to unlock, but so worth it, the lasers alone makes the entire game easy.

For me, the fenrir takes the top spot. Its design is large and imposing. The lswm is just monstrous. And its named after the giant wolf from norse mythology. Incredible

you forgot to mention that the X-49 nightraven has an AEON engine (the green particles it leaves behind) in adition to its 8 normal engines,(in fact the Geopelia uses it too) using nanoparticles designed to clean the atmosphere of polution to give it much more maneuverability. it was so maneuverable in fact that it was because of its maneuverability that the ONSI was installed and mandatory for the pilot to use the plane (the nerve cable surgery). and the only thing that killed it in 3, was the AEON generators arround the area that it was being destroyed, hindering its maneuverability. but even without the AEON, it maneuvers like a beast. also... it uses the TLS like the Guns in Ace combat with the pilot capable of controling its intensity with the AEON particle Input. it is so powerfull that it managed to sink an artificial island.

The CFA 44 Nosferatu was called the Nosferatu because the lead pilot of Vampire Squadron used it. I don't doubt that it's creation was a big strain on Estovakia, but lore wise it was used by Vampire Squadron, hence the designation of "Nosferatu"

Fun fact: Out of all the superplanes in the franchise, not counting Electrosphere which was now put to the Space canon of Bandai Namco, the FENRIR is by far the most recent of the superplanes, the most powerful superplane, and is the largest superplane up to date.

On a list of most powerful superplanes, it would have to be: *#10 - X-02 Wyvern* - It doesn't really have any super unique weapons to it. It's very manueverable though, which is a plus. *#9 - ADFX-02 Morgan (Final Boss Version)* - Burst Missiles, Lasers and an ECM Pod. All at once. Strap a V2 into this fucker and Pixy would approve. *#8 - ADF-01 FALKEN (Modern)* - It was made to be superior to the Morgan, and it really shows with its performance. *#7 - X-02S Strike Wyvern* - Basically the original X-02 but comes packing extra heat with a goddamn railgun and added mobility! *#6 - XFA-27 (Scarface 1 Version)* - Phoenix's signature aircraft. Not only does it have the godsend that is the Scarface MBS, but it is *THE* most manueverable plane in the series, no questions asked. *#5 - ADF-011F Raven* - It's like Gründer Industries desperately wanted to make the most OP plane ever with default PLSL, TLS and UAV pods. It's not, but it's very close. *#4 - CFA-44 Nosferatu* - ADMM and EML. That's all I have to say. *#3 - ADF-01 Zone of Endless (Legacy)* - The original FALKEN that not only has backwards attack capabilities and a radar jammer, but also has Cipher and Pixy's battle data! *#2 - XFA-33 Fenrir* - Two words: Shockwave Missiles. *#1 - X-49 Night Raven* - This thing sank a fucking island in one shot. *SANK! AN! ISLAND!*

Yus! Fenrir is my favourite plane. A little disappointed at not mentioning the LSWM that it carries

I liked the R-Series a bit more with the R-211 and R-103 being my favourites. The XFA-36A Game was also pretty neat, but somehow felt like a prototype to other models they created later on. But actually nothing beats the YF-23. Such a shame this aircraft gets almost no credit anymore...

dont forget the shock bombs on the fenrir in AC X, things were insta kill for anything in range. I remember clearing one mission in almost an instant with those equipped. And yeah those micro waves were pretty cool. As a kid back then, i remember thinking i could use the same microwaves in the last mission if i owned the plane, but to my dissapointment that wasnt the case. I even looked into the modules and cockpit systems thinking i might have had to equipp it, though no success in that either. Atleast the planes interior looked damn futuristic xD

Loving that Ace Combat X bgm, I still remember back I was a little kid I stuck at the mission 11 for hours, and that cool music is the only thing kept me going lol.

I really want the X-49 and XFA-33 to be in Ace Combat 7, but the only problem is that it takes place in 2019. So the XFA-33 was still in the drawing board and the X-49 wasn’t developed until the 2030s.

X-02S is the variant that carries an EML, X-02 itself has the standard special weapons. QAAM and the 4 missle lock on anti-air.

Man. I just realized that the Morgan is a pretty damn old aircraft now.

One would print these fictional fighters in 3D and test them in a small wind tunnel, I wouldn't be surprised if any of them had efficient aerodynamics. Except for the X-49 and XR-900, I don't know how those clumsy, boomerang-shaped (Although I think their design is pretty, I won't deny it) fighters can hold up in the air. Also, the only fictional fighter in the Ace Combat series that I find ugly is the GAF-1 Varcolac.

The Naspheratu is just too OP. But begrudgingly my favorite. If I'm having trouble with a mission, I use the Febrir to clear the sky. It almost feels like having a n Oppressor in GTA 😅 But the Wyvern is just a sight to behold in action.

On my own, I loved the R103 and the XFA36 in AC3 :) For the others... I didn't play that much with them

The Falken is also in Ace Combat 7 as a DLC as well as the ADFX-01 Morgan

me and my two brothers personal favorite planes are from the ADF series. my youngest brother, ADF-01 second youngest, ADFX-01, and finally for me, it's the ADF11F RAVEN.

Not an AC plane but the SP-34R is by far my favorite fictional aircraft, it's a flying gun platform for bloody hell's sake! You'd have 360° lead spewing capabilities if the game didn't nerf it. It also has a really nice design with the retractable wing tips, narrow engines and COFFIN Canopy.
