I started 16/8 daily IF about a month ago (loving it!!) I’ve lost a few pounds according to the scale, but WOW do my clothes fit looser. Crazy Pounds lost approximately 6-10 Glucose levels normalizing (from day 1 of the start of fasting) Average resting heart rate down to 72 from 84 I feel MUCH better (physically and mentally) starting to sleep better. I bounce on my Cellerciser 3-5 times a week for 20-30 minutes Can’t recommend IF highly enough 🌿 I’ve found the LIFE IF app (free) to be very helpful I’m 57, female, with an aim to turn around a recent diabetes diagnosis. Med- free is my goal. Also to turn around a long-time autoimmune dysfunction ✅

I have been on keto for almost 3 months and have lost 30lbs. I am aiming to lose another 56lbs. Watching this video tells me that I have made a mistake along the way in the sense that I have been losing or not reaching autophagy due to my protein intake. I have been on OMAD for roughly 4 weeks eating 6pm each day fasting 24 hours. My fat intake is pretty high and has not had any problems with hunger in between meals. I now realize that I will need to lower my protein intake to reach better autophagy so that my body eats a higher level of its own fat. Dr. Ekberg. Thank you for taking the time to educate us, mear mortals.

Its crazy how information like this is so controversal to many people. I have lived like this (fasting avoiding carbs ) and felt very much alive. However when i used to eat several times a day i would be tired suffer from chronic tiredness unable to focus and be more negative. Thank you for life saving information
@Tamarocker88
@Tamarocker88 3 жыл бұрын
It's controversial because it is unhealthy for most people to cut food groups or specific macronutrients out of their diet entirely. Everything in moderation. Ya know, a well-balanced diet? People should still eat carbs, they should just eat them in moderation and favor unprocessed whole grains over refined sugars and flours.

This is my seventh day of OMAD and feeling wonderful. I take a green salad with kidney beans, olive oil etc and an avocado smoothie and half an hour later some chicken or fish with a little rice for my dinner. I have lost five lbs without any hunger headaches or any lethargy or weakness which was my greatest concern when I started. The difficult part is shopping for and the meal preparation. Making sure everything is on hand at meal time and whether that is sustainable in a household which thrives on carbohydrate rich meals.

When I was carnivore, I naturally fasted intermittently. It took a while to understand that each time I ate, I should eat to fullness. Initially, I tried to eat 3 times a day. Finally, I realized I just needed to eat till I was completely full (satiety). Hunger was ravenous and frequent in the beginning, but after a short while, the gaps between eating increased until it became about every 2 days. And oh, I healed my piles. Didn't have another flare up until almost 2 years after I went back to alcohol. Planning to get back on. And get treatment for my addictions.
@someguyO2W

Anyone wanting to know more about the beginning of carnivore, the rule I found was, eat when you're hungry. Eat till you're full every time. Don't worry, it fades away after a short while (less than 2 weeks for me). Gained muscle and lost more weight while not even working out. A lot of mental clarity and constant energy. Performance in the sack drastically improved tbh. It's great, but I'm currently battling alcoholism so I don't want to mix them cos it's deadly then. Needs to be a pure thing else I find a lot meat with alcohol has some adverse effects.

Love this. I’ve gone down two sizes in a matter of weeks; no hunger but eating nutritious, healthy meals - one solid one per day. My way of intermittent fasting is to postpone meals so I don’t eat more than the one full meal. I do have a “snack” now and then, with a salad or something fermented like pickles or green olives stuffed with garlic from TJ’s or a handful of walnuts. Also, every day I drink a cup of coffee with cacao powder for a mocha flavor (with cream and stevia) and a small square of dark sugar free dark chocolate also from TJ’s. Also I only eat fish and eggs as animal protein. I eat raspberries with plain yogurt and a tbspn of peanut butter as a small meal. Just aware of not eating as much as I did, and no-to-low carbs. Lots of water and green or hibiscus tea.

@@huskitty1 once a week to a 1 or 2 day fast and one meal a day. Example i made a wok full of 1kg lean lamb mince,2 cougettes,1 egg plant,1 red onion,500g chestnut mushrooms,half garlic bulb,3 bell peppers,1 tin chopped tomatoes and chilli con carni powder mix 50g and extra water and 125g edamae beans. It's enough foid for 4/5 days. 1 large bowl is very filling. I also did a 3 week fast at the start. The first 6kg/1 stone, 50% is loss of water. Get some electrolite powder when water fasting.get fizzy water. I do cheat with 20ml of elderflower codial per 500ml water but have since quit that of water fasting days. Oh and walking.every other day walk 2 hours.

I came across Dr Ekberg's video on intermittent fasting two weeks ago and tried a 14 hour fast with no problem. So then tried the 16,18,20 and 23 fasts with no problem. I have since settled down to one meal a day and have zero pangs of hunger. Along with this is zero feeling of tiredness and I am not missing food or snacking at all. Blood sugar has decreased dramatically and so has my resting heart rate. Intermittent fasting is absolutely brilliant. Thanks Dr Ekberg for your well researched and explained videos.

I can eat a bowl of green salad at lunch topped with nuts, avocado and olive oil as dressing. I feel really full but not sleepy after eating. My fullness lasts for 18 to 20 hours, feel great, no lethargic feeling, stable energy, no cravings. I will never go back to eating crappy foods again. I can do IF for long hours and break my fast with nutritious foods high in essential fats. It's easy to remove addiction to toxic foods if one will educate himself first. That way, we can change our perspective of eating. Fasting and keto diet is not a fad. It's a healthy lifestyle.

In my language,kannada, We have distilled wisdom from generations which is encapsulated in a adage or proverb which roughly translated to as- One who eats once a day is a 'Yogi' (A master) , twice a day is a person who is enjoying (bhogi) and thrice a day is a rogi (patient)

You'll never get the benefit of intermittent fasting if you still eat crappy/junk food during your eating window. The first thing you must avoid when doing intermittent fasting is sugar and refined carbs because it'll only make you more starving and lethargic during your fasting window..

Another nice video doctor Ekberg. I want to say thank you to you. 3 1/2 months ago I started watching your videos because I had to go to the doctors and get blood pressure medicine prescriptions refilled. As usual he wanted to check my blood for a whole host of things specifically glucose and cholesterol. I told him I already new I was a type 2 diabetic because of the food supply we have in this country. Anyway the results came back and I was a type 2 diabetic and my triglycerides were through the roof. Glycolsylatedhgb was 11.8 Triglycerides were 592,Cholesterol was 245 (Which according to your videos isn't that bad really) HDL 29 LDL 98 Chol/HDL Ratio 8.4 I started a low to no carb, no sugar, no grain diet with acv in water,and I eased into intermittent fasting just like your videos said to do. About three weeks ago I started a omad routine with acv and water twice a day to relieve my hunger at noon and before dinner.I don't know why but a cap of acv in a coffee cup of water does the trick. It has been three months since last tested so this last week I went and got the same tests done again. My Glycolsylated HGB Ratio is now 7.4 my cholesterol is still good at 266 My HDL is 36 LDL is 184 (Just trolly cars that's all they are)But my triglycerides are now at 246. I have also lost 15 pounds and we had to adjust my blood pressure medicine down 5 Miligrams. I am going to continue what I am doing and not go on the statins like the good doctor wants me too and retest in another 3 months. I am also very interested in lowering my inflamation from now until then. So any advice there is welcomed. I have rang the bell and subscribed and can't wait for another life style video from you. Again Thank You Dr Ekberg for being willing to teach us how to live better and longer naturally.

Probably the best and most comprehensive video I've ever seen regarding keto and intermittent fasting on youtube! I have been doing this for over a year and a half now went from 290lbs to 180lbs 65 years old and not on any meds. Walk 5 miles or so every day and fast every single day minimum of 14 hour but mostly 18+ hour fast. It makes me feel amazing. This is the video that if anyone ask what it is I do to get the results I have gotten I can recommend them to watch! Thanks Doc!

This channel has been so incredibly helpful! Understanding the science behind these nutrition and excercise choices makes it feel so much easier to grasp and put into practice. I've started walking 10k steps a day (up to 20k some days) and transitioning into keto/IF and already have lost a few KG but more importantly I feel healthier, have more energy, sleep better and I am so much more calm and mentally clear.

Your videos keep me inspired, motivated and remind me of what I can achieve in time. Six years ago I performed my own experiment for a year and lost 38kg, before realising I was actually intermittent fasting. I achieved my goal and body, remaining that way for five years, my body managed to get rid of anything I put in it. But due to complacency and stresses, over the last two years I have gradually gained some of the weight I had lost. Therefore, I know I’ve done it before and will do it again with my goal on its way to be reached by December 2020. Thank you for your honest information...and no advert cuts!

Well, Dr. Sten. I have watched a couple other people and their videos on pretty much the same topics here. I have sorted out in my mind that I prefer your style of video production. Especially the charts and visual aids. Nothing more Boring than a man or woman sitting at a desk talking and talking. Your charts help to settle things into my brain. I am astonished at how little I knew of the inner workings of the human body. Never heard of the word Autophagy until I began watching your videos. I am closing in on 10 lbs of weight loss. This is a brain booster. Thanks for the well put together videos. No annoying music, well lit , good clear speaking.

I love your videos. I have learned so much from all of them. General Practitioners are not that helpful, they look at parts of the body in isolation, they never view the body as a whole. When the body is out of balance, disorders occur. By correcting one disease with meds, other organs can be thrown out of balance. I have seen this and experienced this over and over. It is so important to understand how your body works and to look after your own health because nobody will do it for you.
