In this video our instructor Boris take a look at the top 10 free vintage synthesizer emulations / inspired synths, available for both PC & Mac in a 64-bit format. We're starting off with Oberheim OB-X. Then we have 3 roland-style synths: Tyrell, Noisemaker and PG8X. We're following that with two Korg synths: Mono/Fury and FB-7999. As for Moog emulations we have Model E and the MG-1 Plus. Then we have Dexed (Yamaha DX7) and Nils' Kawai K1v. Let's get started!

*I am now always interested to see who still promotes Nils K1v in 2023. It is a true enigma of limitless value.* Top notch vintage 8-bit sounds, brilliant interface, tons of headroom, perfect for synth wave and other vintage or videogame themed work, but it also has plenty of sounds and instruments that are perfectly suitable for modern music that needs an authentic VST instrument. *I think when it comes to free VST's, it's a good idea to suggest people install a VST browser like Cantabile for previewing them, sorting and deleting as they pile up!* You can build a collection as good as a $600 package, but it takes a very long time and a lot of effort.

Great Video and great job , i tried to download and instal the synth but some don't work fully : i mean the ROLAND JX8P emulator is without any preset .....what i'm doing wrong?

I thought Tyrell N6 was modelled after the Juno 60, not the Jupiter? To me it sounds way more juno-esque then anything else. The TAL noisemaker has it’s own flavour as well. Great video nonetheless!!

Obxd doesnt let you use for commercial free without the license so its free, but still use restricted.
