Crossover Nexus was fantastic; considering Adventure Time was the most recent Cartoon Network show to end before the episode aired, and the fact that Adventure Time sparked new life into the CN modern era, I find it poetic how KO and Ben ended the punch to Strike with Finn.

Some of these crossovers sure bring back memories.

Why do I not know about most of these crossovers??? My mission now is to find these episodes and binge watch em all!!! Here, hold my homework, its gonna be a loooong night 😎

In the crossover episode of Steven universe “Say Uncle” (with uncle grandpa crossover) People were surprised when they saw uncle grandpa’s list of memorable characters from old shows in Cartoon Network’s history and the last kid that uncle would help is Clarence😂

For me, one of the best Cartoon Network crossovers was Monster Party from OK KO; mainly because it introduced the Grimwood Ghouls into the series

The crossover that I wish cartoon network would is making all the shows with alien main characters meet each other. This would include ben 10, steven universe, KND, transformers animated, and more!

As a huge fan of both cartoon network and crossovers I have seen generally most of these and have quite a lot of thoughts on them. 10. "Cartoon Network Invaded" - It's hard to really count this one as a crossover since if you were to separate these episodes and only watch them in relation to Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, Ed Edd n Eddy, My Gym Partner Is A Monkey, Camp Lazlo, and The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, there really aren't any crossover elements within the actual narrative of any of these shows. Most of them are either background gags and Billy and Mandy having some crossover gags in alternate ending credit scenes but yeah not like these shows ever directly meet. I do get giving this a spot though just for the idea of it; of Cartoon Network actualy wanting to have an event within their various shows at the time of having special specific alien related episodes themed around a seeming invasion and each of the shows trying to capitialze on a part or trope of such a thing. Like Foster's it was the call and message part and bringing that theme of "cheese" throughout and then EEE had the aliens actually land and begin preperations while Gym Partner was about actual infiltration, Camp Lazlo abduction and interrogration and BIlly and Mandy fighting them back. Pretty clear there were only vague notes about what each episode had to have in it to be a part of this crossover but it still is at least an interesting experiment if not really a corssover. Then again the first three entries on this list I wouldn't classify as full on crossovers though this one at least has a unique gimmick attached to it to explain it. Not so much the other two outliers, starting with... 9. "Let's Team Up Because We Aren't Bad Friends" - Personally I prefer crossovers where the two specific worlds of a cartoon actually mix and you get to see elements of one series interact with another. IMHO a much inferior but I guess due to time and budget way of doing a crossover is to take just one specific character from one specific world and put it into another show. So technically you're not really mixing the worlds together as much as you're having someone from another world play around in your world. It's not nearly as interesting or enjoyable and honestly feels more empty as a premise but again I get the idea of at least having the crossover come from that one specific element being the focus of how they interact with their new enviornment. Which I'll talk about later down on the list because yeah this isn't really the case. This is more just an extended cameo or shout out taking someone from one show and putting them in another for a few minutes even if they are far from the driving element of the narrative. And quite honestly to me that's more just a guest spot then a crossover. And CN series sespecially back in the day would do that all the time with another even outside of advertisements. You'd have Johnny Bravo referencing Ed Edd n Eddy; The Powerpuff Girls having cameos of Dexter and even a Dexter running gag The TV Puppet pals; or say Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends showing a cameo of Mandy from Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. Really having Rad be brought over by Prohyas is just pretty much the two minute version of that as yeah he doesn't really have much to do with the actual story of that epsiode and just seems to be done because this was the last Mighty Magiswords ep so they figured "hey let's throw a line to another series more then we normally would cause we're ending." Seriously there are a lot of OK KO Crossovers (more on that later) that are all pretty great crossovers but the show that had an OK KO character in it was not a great crossover as well it was again just a guest apperance. To me you need to have cameo or extended appearance be key to the story for it to really count as a crossover and that was not the case here so yeah even compared to the not really crossover Cartoon Network Invaded this doesn't count as one to me so I would place it on the lowest slot thinking about it. 8. "Let's Get Serious" - And this crossover isn't too much better honestly. Really if you wanted a Teen Titans Go Crossover how about "TTG vs PPG" or even "Cartood Fued" where the Titans crossed over with the Scooby Doo gang. Since those are actually crossover that involve actually interacting with the full cast and actually fully if not taking shots at both worlds at least more fully acknowledging and interacting with them. Here the Titans just interact with Young Justice's Aqualad... well more like Robin does. And the team only admitted they even did that because Khary Payton voices both Cyborg and JL's Aqualad so they didn't have to get other VAs (as back in season 2 no way would they of bothered with that) and just used it as a springboard of there first sort of "meta" episode that mocks the people who don't like Teen Titans Go! However unlike other meta episodes that actually bring up points either for or against the show that actually make sense, this one just doesn't work. The whole point is Aqualad saying the Titans are so goofy which yeah is a take on people mocking the TT in TTG! for being too silly but it's shown to be a negative thing within the show. And their attempt to be "serious" is just the most idiotic kid's thinking of what serious is which somehow is still considered serious but seems to work but then doesn't and even the YL say they are taking things too far and... I have no idea what the point that episode is trying to make. Other meta episodes bother actually taking a stand even if it's "ha ha we like being silly screw you if you think otherwise" while this one is just a mess. It doesn't work as a crossover, as a take that to people who dislike TTG, a defense of the series and it's not even really that funny either so... it just fails as an episode. And yeah as a crossover. It's clear the TTG! did not care about YL at all (even if they are part of the reason that show wound up getting cancelled but that's a whole debate on into itself) and put no effort into having the tones properly mesh which is what the best crossovers actually do. Which is why IMHO one of the best CN crossovers is... 7. "Say Uncle" - I admit I didn't watch much of Uncle Grandpa or Steven Universe before this episode but I knew enough about both series to be hyped by the idea of such desperant odd atonal series colliding. Uncle Grandpa was this non sequitur out there experience just focused on being surrealist abursidt goofball shennigans while Steven Universe was this grounded more serious emotional and thoughtful series about connecting and emotions and actually having a constant narrative and character growth. At the time this came out these would of just been the most out there series to cross worlds. I mean you could see something like Regular Show and Adventure time working or even the Amazing World of Gumball possibly finding a connection with Clarence but this mix is just so out there... but that's the fun of it; it knows how absurd the idea of these two series colliding is and really has fun with it. It does find that common ground (Uncle Grandpa is a series about UG going around helping kids with problems and Steven has a problem that needs fixing) and allows that to build and form unique scenarios you wouldn't see in either show. The absurdity in UG's universe is just common so people either upset by it or actually trying to assault UG for that is such an out there thing that alone makes the idea of the Crystal Gems trying to off this guy actually funny. And Steven Universe getting to play around with more meta gags like UG being self inserted as an ad in "Gem Glow" or Mr. Gus talking about Gemsonas or Garnet waiting for "the episode to end" is all the funnier. And maybe this is just me but despite UG saying this episode isn't canon... I think it totally is canon. I mean you'll notice after this episode Steven never has a problem summoning his shield in battle again and gets what emotion to go for plus even before Perdiot's face turn we have Steven standing in the way of the Gems beating up some stranger and trying to find more a compromise. I also like how due to this being a crossover it actually has a chance to momentarily get away from some of the weaknesses of either show. UG though still random does have more a grounded base line and honestly this actually expands the typical "only from Steven's perspective" feel of the series you normally don't get much of a break from. Seriously how often do you get a scene of just the three cyrstal gems chatting not in the same location at all where Steven is and he doesn't interject or see them at all? Not very often so yeah another thing I appreciate about this one. It doesn't have the best plot but its' comedy is top notch plus yeah that list does extend the crossover fel to more then the two shows but yeah other series do better shout outs more on them later.... in the reply to this so yeah ending this here as youtube doesn't like ultra long comments.
