Jaromir Jagr scored the OT winner in Gretzky’s last game. He would later retire as the NHL’s second all-time leading scorer. The second greatest scorer ever ended the career of the first. How’s that for poetic?

@@UnleashthePhury He's 2nd all time in pts but what I was saying is, he's not the 2nd greatest scorer, Orr and Lemieux would have outscored him had they played longer and healthier, Howe would have outscored him in a different era, Crosby, McDavid and Mackinnon could pass him eventually, the things that could stop them are the era in which they're playing and health.
@sksaddrakk5183
@sksaddrakk5183 3 жыл бұрын
@@gymguy25 Orr played 20 or so years before Jagr where scoring was easier as the Goalie equipment was not that bulky as in the late 80s/90s until the league put a stop to the ridiculous gear the GK's had, Gretzky was the superstar in every team he played, Jagr was not the number one guy with his first stint with the Pens (that was SuperMario)... And I think it is an achievement of its own to stay fit and healthy enough to play in the NHL until the age of 46 of course luck is also a factor in that respect, but there is only a limited amount of luck to go around... McDavid and Mackinnon we will see how their career turns out...
@gymguy25
@gymguy25 3 жыл бұрын
@@sksaddrakk5183 Between 1981-1996 (if you exclude the lockout year), the NHL had an average of twelve 100 pt scorers a year, much more than in any other era. Jagr played 6 seasons in those high scoring years, in Orr's essentially 9 seasons, only 4 times did a non-Bruin reach 100 pts.
