Is nobody going to mention that Harry can’t do magic outside of school, but in the third movie he uses Lumos Maxima in bed without receiving a howler or, indeed, anything happening? They took a LOT of liberties in the movies… Not to mention creating a crapload of plotholes while doing it. You don’t have to be a fan to spot a cameraman or microphone, by the way.

I can't believe that in the "Fantastic Beasts" timeline, McGonagall is depicted as a full grown woman running around Hogwarts, despite the fact that the second movie is set in 1927, eight years before her official birth year of 1935.

I read that when they filmed the first movie, they tried to give Daniel Radcliffe contacts to make his eyes look green but the contacts irritated his eyes too much so they scrapped it and just went with his natural eye color

Harry snapping the elder wand made more sense as he was the owner of it and eventually an auror. At some point, he would be disarmed and that person would be the new owner.

I only ever noticed two of these, and NOT on first viewing! I noticed Harry changing table sides in the first movie pretty early on. I don't know why, just one time it just hit me. Also, the inconsistencies of a lot of the magic, including the Expelliarmus spell and the different ways different directors treated the Polyjuice Potion. I chalked that one up to the Director's egos getting in the way of making things match up from movie to movie.

2 aint a mistake. If Voldemort himself even chooses to say the T at the end, regardless of the inspiration of the name, he can say his nickname anyway he wants. Since he is English, it makes sense he wont just make a french pronounced nickname.

I had hoped we would’ve seen Voldy’s Mum in the 6th film but I know they couldn’t add everything, not to mention Peeves! We didn’t see much of the ghosts after the 2nd film.

Expelliarmus can knock over an opponent because intention play a role in how a spell works. If you only intend to knock a wand out of a hand or knock them down is up to the caster. It can be used for both. Knocking out of the hand happens in school because the kids are weaker magic and as to knock allow injury of the kids.

1. The fang of a basilisk is known to destroy horcrux's. Harry is a horcrux so when the basilisk bit him, it should have killed Harry. 2. Students are never permitted to do magic outside of Hogwarts as they're being monitored by the Ministry Of Magic 24/7. When Hermione first meets Harry and Ron, she tells them that she did a few basic spells. Strange that the Ministry Of Magic doesn't punish her or rescind her attending Hogwarts.

Hagrid's moving hut. In the first two films, Hagrid's hut is shown near the school across a grassy lawn. But in film three and film six it is shown as being down a steep slope out of sight of the school.

at the 38:26 mark of the Prisoner of Azkaban, after Harry lands with Buckbeak and Malfoy ignores Hagrids warning earlier about insulting hippogriffs, Malfoy is injured and Hermione walks up and says he needs to be taken to the hospital wing, when she is saying this she does not have her robe on and for a brief time, you can see the time turner she has been using in the movie, but she is supposed to keep it hidden so others do not find out how she is getting to classes, this is only instance where you see the device until she and Harry uses it near end. Don't know if she was supposed to display it for all to see or not but doubt it

2 bonus mistakes people miss 1st movie: when harry is showing Ron the mirror you can see the invis cloak as a green screen for a split second. 3rd movie, when harry is being told about Sirius, a number (i think is 300) pops up just after Arthur says "Harry"

Obviously, when it comes to adapting books to movies, there will be inevitable differences between the two mediums. Harry Potter is certainly no exception. I have a few more things to note: - Chamber of Secrets is my favorite in the series (both book and movie). In the theatrical cut of the movie, Harry and Ron are shown discovering about the Basilisk thanks to a page that Hermione was holding when she was petrified. That's a very good scene, as it's fascinating how Harry and Ron piece the whole mysteries behind the Chamber of Secrets together. If you look closely at the page, it mentions that a rooster's crow is fatal to the Basilisk. However, what they didn't mention in the theatrical cut (but only implied in the extended cut because of a scene with Hagrid) is that Riddle made Ginny kill the roosters when she was possessed by the diary. - The First Task of the Triwizard Tournament in the movie was very inaccurate to the book, because if the dragon broke off of its chains, the event would've been stopped. - The attack on the Burrow in the Half Blood Prince movie wasn't in the book. You can't just add things that aren't in the book. It doesn't affect the story at all when it really should've. - They ruined all sense of suspense in the movie for the scene when Ron is poisoned and almost dies, with him saying "These girls, they're gonna kill me!" In the book, the chapter ended with Ron lying perfectly still. They could've very easily done the same thing in the movie so it keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. - Snape's reveal as the Half Blood Prince didn't have the same buildup to it like it did in the book. And when Snape orders Harry to show him his books after catching him using Sectumsempra on Draco, Harry goes to hide the Half Blood Prince's book in the Room of Requirement. This is how Harry discovers the location of Ravenclaw's diadem in Deathly Hallows. - The opening of Deathly Hallows (the book and the Part 1 movie) shows that Hermione altered her parents memories so that they wouldn't be targeted by Voldemort and the Death Eaters. However, in the movie, she used Obliviate to erase herself from their memories, to make it seem like they never even had a daughter. But in the book, Hermione simply used a False Memory Charm, then she could recover everything once it was all over. I watched MovieFlame's Books VS Movies Comparison series for Harry Potter, and I absolutely loved it. Go check it out if you haven't already.

It came to my attention that in Episode 2 (The chamber), the Weasleys' clock has a word "Dentist". But in Episode 6, Sir Slughorn asked Hermione about her parents' job as if he knew nothing about Dentists. Of course, this is just a mistake in the movies. ^^

Honestly, I could see Quirrel just losing his hair through a combination of general stress and the physical side effects of having Voldy sticking out of the back of his head. Also, if R*wling is the only one who pronounces Voldemort with a silent T, then nobody important says it that way.

There are way more. Let’s not forget Harry practicing “lumos maxima” in bed. No punishment letters sent by owl. But with Dobby, and again with the Dementors, he gets owls from the MOM either giving a warning or expelling him.

Am I the only one who noticed the glaring error in Harry Potter involving the fact that Voldemort was set up to fail? So in the Deathly Hallows, Voldemort tracks down the Elder Wand so he can kill Harry. The problem is that Harry was the true master of the Wand, and the Wand will not kill the one whom it views as its true master (Or so I've read). In other words, Voldemort never would have been able to kill Harry, due to the fact that the wand he was using wouldn't (and didn't) allow it. And for anyone who wants to try the "Well, Voldemort was able to use the Killing Curse against him in the forest when Harry went to confront him" excuse, the Wand was targeting the soul shard within Harry, not Harry himself. That, or J.K Rowling doesn't pay attention to her own lore.

The biggest mistake of all is that, there is this creature that was only visible to harry and luna.... The creature that can fly, which also carries a cart... Yeah so luna said "this creature can only be seen by people who have seen someone dying. And in order of the Phoenix, (5th movie) Hermione, ron, neville, ginny, harry and luna flies to london to try and save sirius... They fly on THAT CREATURE WHICH HERMIONE, RON, NEVILLE AND GINNY WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO SEE! HOW DID THEY FLY ON IT?? 😐 ive searched it up, and the creature's name was 'thestrals'. It also says that Hermione, ron, ginny and neville witnessed the death of 'cedric diggory' but they actually didnt see him dying did they? No. So that will be counted as a big mistake!

In every single one of these videos, why is there never a single mention of the battle with the death eaters following the death of Dumbledore as they try to escape Hogwarts? In the movie, it showed the death eaters basically power walking to the exit unnoticed, whereas if they had followed the source material, could have been an undeniably epic scene. It's hard to pick whether this or the changes to the labyrinth in Goblet of Fire was a worse sin.

I never really liked Harry Potter, I got dragged to ever single s*itass movie by friends, and it was a nightmare. I did get some relief by sneaking into Transformers Revenge of the Fallen when I got dragged to the third to last or second to last Harry Potter movie. No one noticed me and another friend were even gone. The inconsistencies and blunders are pretty funny and blatantly obvious. How do people not notice these things? Harry Potter and Twilight are probably the two stupidest and most hated series for me.
