one of the more subtle running gags was asking for something and then rejecting it. for example.. moira: oh, i need some tea. twyla! twyla: tea? moira: no, thank you. there are a few of those moments in the show and they ALWAYS get me.

Please tell me you have seen her in all the Christopher Guest movies...? If not, go watch them all now! Catherine is hilarious and incredible in them. Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, and For Your Consideration. She is one of the main ensemble characters in the first three, and the star of the fourth. Eugene Levy stars in all four movies as well, and they play couples in two of them. They are stellar movies full of wacky characters, just like Schitt's Creek.

You will love them! When you see them, you may get a sense of where Daniel got the knack for creating wacky, yet very believable characters. “This Is Spinal Tap” was Christopher Guest’s first foray into hilarious mockumentaries. I’m pretty sure he and Michael McKeon invented the genre and they just got funnier from there. “A Mighty Wind” and “Best in Show” are my favorites. Eugene and Catherine together are comedy gold. Daniel and Annie clearly have that same magic.

I think Jocelyn's changing hairstyles throughout the series should make the list too. Including when she got Moira to go with her to her hair salon.

Moira’s accent is a Canadian thing, It’s kind of how we would pretend to speak in a La-dee-da way, about someone who is full of self-importance. What’s hilarious to me as a Canadian fan is that Moira has so naively taken on this way of speaking for real. Lots of irony there.

It’s definitely NOT a Canadian thing, but that gave me a good laugh. It’s a consistently inconsistent affectation of pretentious old-hollywood theatre RP, transatlantic “drunk” and a drop of East London.

Instead of #6 "David Rose's Disgusted Face", I would have said David Rose's Sour Face he makes every time he drinks alcohol. See episodes Little Sister, New Car, Moira Rosé, The Job Interview, and Happy Ending.

Loved this! Most of Moira's accent weren't actually mispronunciations - they were usually English or French, like "bébé"

My *favorite* running (like every ep.) “gag” was David’s choice in fashion. I know it was supposed to come off as over the top, ridiculous, & odd (as well as the special care he gives his knits-which most of the world calls sweaters). Some of them admittedly cracked me up, but most of the time I was envious. I’m sure part of that is the fact that I became totally enamored with the character of David Rose. And from his public interviews & appearances, Daniel Levy is a doll as well.

Really? John's gift-giving? That concept was only mentioned in one episode. It does not deserve to be considered a running gag, and there are plenty of other actual running gags in the show that deserved to make the list: *Ted's affinity for puns *Roland's inability to keep his cool when needing to act or pretend *Moira's ever extensive vocabulary *Everything about Gwen *Ray's many side businesses *Ray always bringing up the Rose family's downfall in every conversation Just some examples of actual running gags that should have been considered

No one mentioned Alexis' t-Rex arms and how common that stance is with her and how Anne Murphy purposely makes this a quick with her character, which she credits some high profile celebrities in coming up with Alexis' signature hand movements which she described as a T-Rex playing the piano at an old-timey saloon.
