Black History is the perfect way to begin to understand the question of race in American society today. To help clarify this topic, and in no particular order, here are ten of the most influential African Americans in history.
Black Americans have played a crucial role in helping to advance America’s business, political and cultural landscape into what it is today.
Immigrants contribute to the U.S. economy in many ways. They work at high rates and make up more than a third of the workforce in some industries. Their geographic mobility helps local economies respond to worker shortages, smoothing out bumps that could otherwise weaken the economy. Immigrant workers help support the aging native-born population, increasing the number of workers as compared to retirees and bolstering the Social Security and Medicare trust funds. And children born to immigrant families are upwardly mobile, promising future benefits not only to their families, but to the U.S. economy overall.

Ida B Wells, George Washington Carver, Benjamin O Davis Jr, Booker T Washington...more impactful than some of these. Malcolm X warned us about certain people telling us athletes and entertainers are our leadership!

Why can't actors and athletes be leaders too? I have nothing but the utmost respect for Malcolm X however I disagree with him on this point.

Athletes and actors have a great platform to speak from. There's nothing wrong with that.

It's difficult to determine the top 10 in a category like this. People who fought for civil rights in their own way. However I do not understand why Malcolm X wasn't mentioned. Or wasn't in the top 10.

In the past several decades, we've seen how difference reduces. Two different cultures of African American descent. We all grew up in the same way. Deal what we've all dealt with racial thoughts. Dangerous people. Absurd thoughts? But we all have one thing coming. We've all can stand our own ground and be who we are. My Mama raised me to be no fool. Ever since I was a small girl, I was friends with a sweet girl. Ever. my best friends ever, from elementary when I was a kid. She was a wonderful person. And I became friends with more people in the world like that. But most of my mentors were African American women, and they all inspired me to be who I am. It's true I was taught by white people, but I respect the African-American mostly. Because most of them had taught me amazing things. And The thing is, me and my boyfriend are fans of Harriet Tubman because in life she was Moses to those in the past of the South. So if you're an African American descent out there, remember it's thanks to her and all great people like Martin Luther King Junior Rosa Parks that you are here. Have a good day all.
