The main beach is sandy with calm, paddle-friendly waters and it has lots of cafés, restaurants and kiosks. Meanwhile, Playa de Guincho is a favourite with surfers and windsurfers.

In around half an hour you’re in wildflower-filled Teide National Park. It’s home to one of the world’s biggest volcanoes. There are 2 options for getting to its 3,718-metre-high peak - a walk along the trails or a lift in the cable car. Either way, the views at the top are pretty spectacular.
