+A Gill Not a whole lot of hard and fast rules, but it mostly comes down to added sugar during mixing. A liquor doesn't add any sugar (though the flavorings they add might have some), while liqueurs add a generous amount of sugar, usually in the form of simple syrup. Liqueurs are sweet, sticky, and thick, liquors are not. I don't think that WM bothered with the distinction when making this list, as they had Bailey's as an honorable mention.

BAcardi is not limited to only white rum, whereas captain Morgan is usually always spiced rum. White just means unaged, or aged for a short time then filtered thru charcoal or other things to remove color and make it clear

Sinatra wasn't a Chivas fan as you said, but rather nearly a lifelong Jack Daniels drinker. In fact your Jack Daniels piece even shows images of Old Blue Eyes. He was true to just three things: Jack Daniels, Camels cigarettes, and Ava Gardner. Good job on the video. I sincerely enjoyed it.

I was going to mention the same fact. I was re-reading an article about his son and one of his jobs before each concert: make sure there was a carton of camel straits/filters (I’m not sure which) And a fresh bottle of Jack Daniels black. I am positive about that!

Johnnie Walker didn't produced their own whisky until much later. They used to (and still do for some of their products) buy cheaper alternatives from small distilleries and carefully selected wich ones to use and how. They've been criticized due to the inconsistency and the highest quality version they offered at a time (blue label) was considered to be an overpriced inflated alternative compared to other brands.

I agree with other comments finding the absence of Crown Royal odd. Chivas & Johnnie are blended Scotches, which in the opinion of many, are inferior to single malts. Glenfiddich or The Glenlivet would have been better choices.

My favorite liquor brand is koskenkorva. But I think that you can only get it from Finland. I really love Koskenkorva Salmiakki ;) Everyone should taste it if they ever visit Finland.

Back when I was a young man and drank alcohol, beer mostly. I would drink a mixed drink from time-to-time. Of the drinks listed on this list, Tangueray Gin was the one drink I proceeded to get the most wasted on ever. Jack Daniels I could never stand the taste. The smell alone makes me gag. However, my most favorite was J&B, which I didn't drink much. I've not drank a single drink of alcohol in over 5 years.

Jose Cuervo (at least the cheap shit anyway) is a fucking joke. And bacardi? Really. My go to for cheap rum is Havana Club. The only time I touch bacardi is if I'm at someone's house (or a bar) and that's all they have. I wouldn't buy it myself if it was the last rum on earth...and no Morgan is shit too

Have bought 4 bottles of JW blue in my life, all tasted different...have had red, black, gold also - all are crap. I'll take Oban or Aberlour any day (best scotch I ever had was a limited 24-year double distilled Oban I bought for about 200 euros back in '06, and I'm still kicking myself for not keeping the empty botle)

Jack Daniel's should've been Number One. The mellowness from the charcoal gives it a perfect balance of not too smoky and not too sweet, but plenty of fire to feel and a lot of sweet flavors and notes of vanilla/caramel/oranges/maple/charcoal; thereby giving it a unique flavor from their unique ingredients in a beverage that's almost reminiscent to bourbon.

It's not about the taste, it's about the popularity. Most of the liquor in this video taste like crap. Jose Cuervo and Captain Morgan are absolute piss. Smirnoff and Absolut are the worst mid-shelf vodkas ever, you could find superb Polish and Russian vodkas for even cheaper than that. Jameson made me gag the first time I tried it, and Johnnie Red tastes like medicine. Johnnie black, chivas regal, JD and makers mark are fine, but you could still find better stuff if you don't judge the book by it's cover. Same thing for Hennessy.

HA! Drinking a glass of Black Label right now! xD Although, I have to say that I'm surprised it's on no. 1... Just doesn't seem right to me, I thought it'd be an honarable mention _at most_. Sure, I can casually enjoy it from time to time, but I still think there are better blends out there than the typical (and commercial) Johnnie Walker & Jack Daniels. Just my two pennies. :)

It wasn't about quality though, but recognition, and in that context I think JW is an appropriate pick, even though it's not even close to "the best damn scotch ever" as they say in the video. I personally don't like it at all, I think Maker's Mark beats it by a mile and a half for the same price any day (at least the price in Europe, don't know the comparison in North America).

Smirnoff history is kind of sad. The original russian creator had to set up shop in europe due to the Russian government's pursuit of private businesses at the time. He agreed to partner up with a younger businessman from Jewish descend that convinced him to take the brand to north America. Once Smirnoff landed in the states the permits and paperwork was done under his partner's name acknowledging him as the owner and creator leaving the original owner in the dark with no chance of fighting back. Quality went down but branding took over. I believe there's a trial case against the company's owner started by the descendants of the original owner that's still on going today. It's kind of sad.

I'm from Puerto Rico and I believe the Headquarters of the company are in Catano a city near the capital San Juan. They moved from Cuba to PR because of the Castro's take over.

Absolut is the only one for me. I'm proud of Absolut, and i don't just say that as a Swede, but as someone who loves alcohol. I do however tend to drink too much, and my liver ain't feelin' so good. I don't buy alcohol that often, but when i do, i often gulp down too much at the same time. I often drink half a 700 milliliter bottle everytime i drink. Don't ask me how i'm not dead. I'm somehow just alive, and i'm thankful for that
