We just bought our camper. It took me 1 hour to completely set everything up alone, leveling included. This was my first time figuring out proper vinyl placement, getting the door right, leveling, beds made. Everything. I’m super proud of myself and will only get faster and more efficient.

Great videos, I love our popup for it's ease of towing and maintenance. I left the forums because Instead of being a group of like minded campers ,my experience was with critical, insulting, individuals. Not all but as with many forums it was bad. Ask a question and get insulted. Your videos are a great alternative!

Great video. I never timed myself on setup just got to site had a cold one looked at site then started set up. Safe to say maybe 30 minutes counting beer and sitting in chair enjoying the view. Never rush unless you have to for like weather conditions. When ever you rush you will do something wrong or break it. Your on vacation slow down and enjoy.

Great content as usual. We have a Forest River and have taken it out 4 times since buying it two years ago. We have another three trips planned this summer. I will say that sleeping in our pop up, has given me one of the best night sleep I’ve ever had. Super comfortable and you actually feel like your outdoors versus being in an aluminum box. Two things I wished were better though. A fridge that actually made things cold and in our case an air conditioner (our pop up is like an oven in the summer). Otherwise, we love our pop up.

John, I loved your analogy of feeling like you were in an aluminum box! That is precisely why we sold a beautiful 26' Cruiser Viewfinder bumper pull travel trailer. I really never felt like I was truly camping in it as apposed to our Coleman/Fleetwood pop-up. I'm not knocking t.t.'s as some people feel safer in them ; just saying they are not for us. Have a good day! Illinois

I think the biggest issue packing and setting it up is the lack interior floor space for taller items. A travel trailer you can put everything inside and just start putting the jacks down. You have more space in your tow vehicle for food and coolers.

I count setup time as "parked to out of the rain." 10 minutes alone for our 95 Dutchman. No amenities or canopy or anything, just parked, leveled and up then out of the rain. :) I think we were down to about 7 minutes if I had my 2 oldest kids actually helping. You're right, setting up these things isn't all that hard. At least, it's not as hard as many people make it out to be.

Hi thank you for this info, was great like all your other videos. Question I have a Jayco 2010 Jay Series 1206 Model and I have the wet bath, they say that is not recommended to show in the wet bath due to floor rotting ? In my Jayco I 'm redoing my sub floor because I think the original owner would shower inside and the floor all around is rotted to the point that the black membrane and linoleum is holding it up...

First off, thank you for taking the time to upload all these helpful videos. I have a question regarding weight. You'd mentioned dry and gross weight. If you max out your Pop-Up gross weight at 3500lbs, does that affect your Tow vehicle's load weight? For example, your towing vehicle has a tow weight of 3500 lbs and a load weight of 800 lbs. Can I still load up my tow vehicle until I hit 800 lbs? (I hope my questions made sense) I am very new to this type of hobby. I apologize for any questions that seems silly.

I just inherited a Palamino pop up and it looks a lot like yours. I know how to set it up but not anything about the electrical, and as I never owned a popup like this am not sure about how the electrical works, and since I have no manual I don't know what model it is to try and get one. how would I find out the model? So I can learn more about it.

One misconception I learned when we bought our 2017 coachman clipper is that not all pop ups have support bars for the slide outs. Ours uses a cable support system from the roof instead of the bars that our old camper had. Unfortunately the dealer didn’t mention it to us when we picked it up and I spent 20 minutes looking for the bars and ended up looking up the system to find it out.

The same thing happened to us. After learning about it I thought it would be great, but after a season of adjusting cables and getting everything completely perfect to avoid playing see-saw at night, we traded it back for a camper with support bars and a manual winch. Love the simplicity that comes with those systems.

A. It has to be specific rv fridge and B. How to hook it up to my converter which you just told me isntused for that. Lol Guess its true.. If the dealership orders the pup-up with the AC already installed, the weight of the AC will be included in the dry weight. Some dealerships order pop-ups with "AC prep," and the dealership installs the AC once they receive the unit. In this scenario, the AC will not be included in the dry weight. If you are looking for a new pop-up with an AC, be sure to ask the dealership if the manufacturer installed the AC. Additionally, items such as the awning, propane tanks, spare tire, spare tire carrier, jack crank, outdoor grill, shore power cord... should all be included in the dry weight if they were provided by the manufacturer.

I have a 01 Jayco Eagle, it has a split door and no lift braces, is that normal
@ItsPoppin
@ItsPoppin 2 жыл бұрын
So I downloaded the manual for your pop up and read through it. I didn’t see any mention of roof safety brackets. With that said, I don’t know the reason for the split door with no safety brackets unless this was a feature that was added in later years, buts that’s speculation. If this is worrisome, there’s two things I recommend. 1. Periodically checking your roof lift system components to make sure it doesn’t fail. 2. Fabricate your own safety support brackets. I’ve heard of people using both wood and pvc, but have no direct experience with this.
