I mean, he's not wrong. A rivalry implies there's some kind of parity between the teams in terms of wins and losses. The two surest things in life are death and taxes, and the third surest thing in life is the Leafs will lose to the Bruins.

As a Wings fan, I actually like the call he did for a Datsyuk to Zetterberg goal. "The puck seems to do magical things for these two guys and after a while, you realize it's not the puck, it's the guys."

I met edwards after the bruins loss to vancouver this year (9-3). He talked with me and my brother for about 20 min. real class act, great guy.

I've been a bruins fan since I was about 8 years old. I remember when Jack started and I loved him immediately. I think every teams announcers should be homers. It's just so fun to have someone calling the game who gets into it as much as the fans do.

It's one thing to be a homer who just gets super excited when your team does something good, but he takes it too far by ignoring/justifying clear penalties committed by the Bruins and cries about phantom penalties which are not called against their opponents. His consistent apologetics for the Rat and complaints when he gets the retaliations he deserves are what bugs me the most.

The thing nobody gives Jack credit for is that he gets excited when the other team scores too. Say want you want about him being a homer but for me the Avs guy who just goes into a monotone, barely audible voice whenever the other team scores is 1000 times more annoying.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Edwards on one of our family’s annual Bruins pilgrimage. A more gracious, warm and friendly person is hard to imagine. The Bs are lucky to have him.

I don’t see a problem with him being a homer, he’s the Boston commentator for a reason, not like he’s Doc Emrick doing calls in LA and then in Pittsburgh or wherever all the time. He’s BOSTONS guy. Here in st. louis we have john kelly and darren pang but there’s been many times where they’ll admit oh that won’t be a goal even if the Blues scored it.

Perhaps at being an absolute tool, unintelligent announcer and utter annoyance. Definitely not the best broadcaster in the business. If he worked for literally any other hockey team aside from the Bruins, he’d be fired ages ago.

I like him and i'm an habs fan.. the guy is hilarious, sure he is biased, but every commentator is. At least, Jack Edwards is funny and entertaining as hell!! Why do you watch hockey? to be entertained? Well this guy does just that, you don't have to agree with him every time he makes a call, give him a chance people and accept the fact you won't always agree with him. Calling Chara a ballerina, how can you not smile lol?!

I got some off the top of my head: PK Subban’s goal in game 7 2011, Phil Kessel’s goal in game 7 2013, or Kadri’s from the same game.

That would not be a challenge if you actually watched NESN. Philadelphia 2010 Game 7, Montreal 2011 Game 7 Plekanec and Subban goals Toronto 2013 Game 7 Kessel and Kadri goals to name a few.

Sabres fan here, my quintessential Jack Edwards call happened some random game where Tuukka Rask made 2 breakaway saves in short order, and on both of em he goes "Rask robs him!" And then he made another great save and he said "THERE'S A CRIME WAVE IN BOSTON!" 😂😂😂

My personal favorite Jack Edwards call is from Game 4 of the 2011 Eastern Conference Semifinals vs. the Flyers on Milan Lucic's 3-1 goal: "off the legs of Horton, he delays, Lucic in alone with Kelly, HE SCORES! SUMMERTIME IS COMING TO PHILADELPHIA!"

Jack is from NH grew up a Boston fan and now is the play by play announcer for the Bruins. He shows his love for the team and the game with every sentence. What's wrong with that? People seem to ignore his comments about great plays or players from other teams and only focus on his unfavorable comments about some players . Love or hate him you always know where he stands. I think he is the 2nd best announcer the Bruins have had. Only the great Fred Cusack was better.

Colorado for sure. As much as Jack calls the game with a fair bit of a pro-Bruins bias, he does acknowledge when the opponent makes a great play, and sometimes you'll hear him call an away goal with the same energy as he does for a Bruins goal. Colorado on the other hand, their play by play guy just goes into a full on depressed voice whenever there's an away goal.

Say what U want about him but Jack does call a good game and I actually enjoy him being an unapologetic homer . I can only name a handful of PxP guys by name and Jack Edwards is one of them so he’s doing something right

Jack was a Whaler fan believe it or not. Its why I love his call on Doug Hamilton wearing a retired Whaler number in a Whaler sweater.

I love how the one thing people complain about him is how much of a homer he is. As if the local announcer is supposed to be treating it like a national broadcaster
