Sam, I really respect how you stand up and don't shy away from your faith and beliefs. As a fellow Christian, it is refreshing to see (not that you really are aggreessive about it), and I'm glad you don't shy. When I first got into 'the hobby', I bought 2 games from my Favourite Online Game Store - Island Siege and Viva Java: The Coffee Game: The Dice Game. Lots of fun with those. I later found out they were Kickstarter games (and that my FOGS is a big Kickstarter backer so they tend to have KS games in stock). I've now graduated to making copies of my own games (with the Print and Play options that KS sometimes provides) and Dead Men Tell No Tales and Cauldron are two of my recent favourites. Fun to make, and fun to play!

I wish you guys would do a yearly "top" (not necessarily 10) Kickstarter Games! Or games to watch for, on KS, or hey, maybe both! And yes...we're still playing Blood Rage.

This list needs a redo badly, I know Tom said “we won’t do this again” but I think it’s worth a redo to remind people of the amazing games that came from kickstarter

Xia: Legends of a Drift System, winner of the coveted "double vomit" award.

Also, for all it's initial problems, Myth is a game one of my groups plays bi monthly and has a blast with! The cards have been clarified which was the games biggest problem IMO. Great game there! Surprised Redacted wasn't on anyone's list.

I was shocked at how many of these games I own and how good the games were overall. I know Kickstarter gets flack for the amount of junk flying out of it but man there are some great games that I didnt realize came from Kickstarter. Great lists guys !

I think a good idea for a kick starter game is a remake of the 1960 movie Psycho. You could play as a resident in Bates Motel or depending on how you want it, play as Norman Bates. Go around the Bates Motel and either stay hidden in areas, or find Marion Crane.

Absolute favorite would have to be Sentinels of the Multiverse. In a house full of gamers, it's very easy to find a full party to go play a game or two, and is often played. We even have a campaign going where we try to defeat all of the villains on Advanced, with random Environments, and a death timer for the heroes that have fallen in previous battles. Wonderful how you wish the characters actually had comic books, the games feel like a portion of a bigger campaign, but it's also well-oiled and can give a challenge to even the masters.

One of my favorites is: Camp Grizzly.A simple game that pulls off the classic slasher horror movie theme amazingly.

Off the top of my head... Among the Stars, Alien Frontiers, Fleet, Francis Drake, Ancient Terrible Things, Pay Dirt, are ones I really like. Looking forward to playing Orleans and Blood Rage.

Wow, this list turned out way more interesting than I thought when starting to watch it! And it made me want to buy some of the games that were mentioned :)

Galaxy defenders has been my favourite kickstarter game so far. Conan will probably take over that spot when I get a chance to play it

Awesome list! Several of the games mentioned I have never heard of and really want to try out. I am really surprised that this list was under 50 minutes long, might be because ya'll didn't disagree as much in this list, nevertheless I appreciate all the work that ya'll do, keep up the great work!

I love Arcadia Quest, Alien Frontiers, The Ancient World, Xenoshyft: Onslaught, and one you did not mention, The Resistance, it is my go to large group game, especially for non-gamers, it always goes over well, as long as no one is extremely introverted.

Cannot wait until I get my kickstarter version of Blood Rage!!! AUGH! I want to paint and play with those minis!

Kickstarter games I'm waiting for: Orleans Deluxe Edition, Blood Rage, Raiders of the North Sea. Lots of pressure on that last one in such company but I really think it will also be a great game. Fingers crossed!

So Funny. I started this year with high expectations for Viceroy and bought Orleans mostly for the components and resale value. Now that I've played both a few times I've sold Viceroy (just a little dry for me) and Orleans is in my top 10. Can't wait for my copy of Orleans to get here. Viceroy I found that even with the "Auction" mechanic nobody ever talked during the game. I like the mechanics but it just doesn't work for my social needs. Orleans is fantastic.

Xia is amazing, surprised to see the hate!

Arcadia Quest easily number one. Can't get enough Run, Fight, Or Die either. I also can't believe how much Star Realms surprised me.

I would say my favorite game from Kickstarter is a game I don't think Dice Tower has reviewed yet, Camp Grizzly. The game perfectly captures the feel of Friday the 13th as the players play as camp counselors being hunted by a serial killer named Otis which is controled by the game. I LOVE this game. I would say Shadows of Brimstone is a very close second.

I have to agree on the production quality of Viticulture. I didn't know at first look that it was kickstarted at all.

Hi DC peeps. I love your top 10's, BBG with Zee, the podcast, all your stuff.. Could I make a suggestion? It would be awesome if you could include the number of players that could play each game when you present them in the box in the bottom screen. I often use your top 10's top find games to purchase, and that info would help a lot :)

I wish Steampunk Rally was out when this was made. AMAZINGLY run, AMAZINGLY produced.

Great list ! :) I agree with it. That were not listed that I liked a lot are : Agents of smersh, Assault on Doomrock, Flashpoint, Guardians Chronicles and Galaxy defenders. Hum... Only coop ! ^^

Guys, I think you should switch up the order of presenting your top lists. You should 1st place first, then count down. If you think about it, by the time someone has showed up to watch your video, you have their view. So inverting the order of presentation will serve your customer base by giving them the most relevant information first without sacrificing view count.

Viticulture/Tuscany Collector's Edition would easily be my #1.

Catacombs isn't out yet. That's a KickStarter I wish I had caught. I only heard about it when Tom started up-selling it on here though.

I can really only name 3 games from kickstarter I really would say I like. Dragon Slayer (only if you get the actual kickstarter version, but last I knew, it was readily available on Amazon.) Lagoon, and Dice Throne which I managed to back just a few days before it ended. I know Dragon Slayer is like...crazy basic dice game, but it's really fun for what it is, and I've found ways to use it as an expansion of sorts into other games.

33:46 What powers is Zee referring to? Because one of the things I'm a bit meh about when it comes to Among the Stars is the lack of special powers and combos. Okay, the starting aliens have some powers, but the tiles themselves don't do much except score points.

Am I the only one who's mildly amused that the game immediately following the religiously themed "Kings of Israel" is called "Evolution"?

I love Alien Frontiers, wondering why the Dice Tower hasn't tried the Outer Belt? It's my 4th favorite game. Also wondering what Tom still thinks of Lost Legends? I know he owned it and loved it, but don't see it on his games on BGG.

Sam I have noticed you do not mind bring up "religious" type games. Do you think you could make a top 10 or maybe even a top 5 of church safe (+1 if it also has the religious theme)? Most times people just give me a list of party games and yeah they most times are safe i would like something a bit more crunchy I guess. I have tried to ask Tom a couple times in Q&A but i think he has addressed it somewhere else (cause he wont even say boo about it lol) just not sure where. Anyway thank you all for theses videos you have made getting into board games a lot less daunting. Be Safe.

Shadows of Brimstone is by far the best kickstarter game, I've tried. Xia is also very good. Sentinels of the Multiverse

So I think after listening to Tom on this video, it has to be said, a lot of good games have now come from kickstarter. The fact that there are many many more bad ones doesn't detract from the good ones. Plenty to make top ten list thats for sure, and kickstarter seems a valid place to find good games, My pick for a missing game from here is Euphoria.

I am very salty about Viceroy, because I'm still waiting on my copy from the kickstarter. But I'm really excited to play it.

Here is how I view Kickstarter games and please let me know if I got it wrong: For an independent publisher (say myself) it allows me to get funding for artwork and a playable prototype produced by a game company. To keep costs down the prototype company will produce generic components and may even ship the kickstarter game. But mainly this allows me to the chance to bring my game and idea to conventions and sell it in its current state while also looking for a publisher company to make it how I want. They will be able to source out for distribution and customized dice, better tokens or components.

Xia is an excellent fun game..good choice Tom, and my group is having a ton of fun with Arcadia Quest now

I hope that Scoville at least made your short lists. I love that game - simple rules and some good choices. A little surprised by Among the Stars, as I found it really boring when I played it. (I know I'm in the minority there though.)

Actually a lot of the non queen games I've kickstarted haven't officially come out yet.

While I'm sad that neither Euphoria or Agents of Smersh made your cuts, you still have some fantastic games, and I'll have to check out the ones I don't know. Also, 2nd Ed Xia? Hope they tweaked it to cut down the downtime, cause I love the game.

Good Cop Bad Cop: or expansion didn't make it? Surprised! they talked that one up like crazy.

No King's Forge? Kids and I really enjoy playing that one.

My favourite Kickstarter games were Dogs of War, Evolution and Viticulture. I'm really not sure why Freedom is considered a Kickstarter game, isn't it published by Academy Games which is a well-established publisher? Then again I'm not familiar with the game's design history. I have to ask if Dogs of War made anyone's short list because I was quite blown away by the production and the gameplay.

Some friends of mine have just put out a kickstarter for their first card game, Fate of Akalon. Hope they get funded.

Two of my favorites that were not on your lists: Shadows of Brimstone Dead Man's Draw

No love for Flash Point: Fire Rescue? That was my first ever Kickstarter and I ended up having to sell it a couple years ago in a culling. I was torn between that and Pandemic since they fit the same niche, but ultimately it came down to resale value and it was still very popular. I regret that sale now and recently just made a trade to get it back.

I must say, I'm shocked that Tom didn't have Sentinels of the Multiverse in here... Pretty sure it was a Kickstarter?

Blood Rage looks similar to Chaos in the Old World, (I know they are both designed by Eric Lang).

Euphoria is my fave kickstarter game I think.

Sam and Zee ... I haven't played Xia ... but when I see it, it always makes me think ... I already have that experience with Firefly the Board Game and I love that. I know that Sam likes Firefly. So, what makes it better than Xia to you? Or are they really so much more different than they appear at first glance.

my favorites are steampunk rally and steamdonkey, mostly because of the theme and artwork. Disagreement: Star realms is too much based on shuffle luck of the cards you can buy to be considered a good and balanced game.

I've really enjoyed Scoville and Coup.

Great thing about kickstarster some game are actually make another kickstarster board game so even if you didn't like the first one the second kickstarster they make is better

Gonna have to check out XenoShyft I think, based on Sam's recommendation. Also, I have to mention the elephant in the room here because of it's omission, but my favourite Kickstarter is the popular Zombicide series. Before you all groan at me, I have to mention that the component quality from Cool Mini Or Not are out of this world terrific (you know this, but its worth repeating) and it's a challenging experience as a cooperative/semi-competitive style survival game. True, this multimillion dollar project has obviously got its fans, it is also responsible for transforming Kickstarter into a tiered-reward pre-order device - BUT - I think overall it's an excellent package [even despite the odd rule on having to shoot friendlies first in the same tile on ranged combat] ;)

Alien Frontiers, Euphoria, Viticulture/Tuscany, Dragon's Hoard, New Amsterdamn, I've only had about 5-6 stinkers i wish i'd not backed. and only maybe 1-2 of those are horrible. I guess I've been really picky with the ones i've backed and i've backed 3 queen and some eagle games excluding those even i've been lucky i guess.
