@@anthonygalon8981 it was a commercial failure bcs at the time, if U spent 1 million dollars for a Mclaren, U dont want to open the hood and see a giant BMW logo on the Engine, at least on the Ferrari engines there isnt a Fiat logo, the engine itself had a displacement of 6.1L so the car could only compete in races without displacement limit. For everyday use... the F1 was just unconfortable and unpractial, rims are extremly fragile, a road hole is enough to break them, i remember that the gage cluster made me blind bcs was white with soft gray pointers, the 3 seats configuration was tested by Gianni Agnelli on the Ferrari 365P 30 years before and considered awfull bcs there isnt rear visibility at all, seat are tight, enter end exit from the car is rather difficult and also talk with passengers is. There wasnt even an optional radio on the F1, only a CD player hided in the front trunk. at the time, who wanted a race car bought a F40 bcs was "cheap" and regulation-friendly for each kind of race, who wanted a luxury car bought a Ferrari 456 bcs it was a really everyday supercar, or if U want a more "extreme" but stil luxurious vehicle, there was the Bugatti EB110 that at 300.000$ less was 10 times more refined and technological than the F1

DD dorsett It bought rear wheel drive balance and fun to the road for an affodable price. I have no doubt the car has taught countless amauters the ways of car control and drifting. Add in the stories of the car being the underdog in many "GT" races in japan and over the world in the 80's and 90's.

MLP-Hot-Rod some of the cars deserve to be on this list like the McLaren F1 and other revolutionary cars like that, as opposed to just looking up on Google for "legendary" cars then seeing expensive cars, why can't there be in person at watchmojo that cared enough about these rather disappointing and obvious cash-grab videos to promote to the masses.

madcaesars ya a stock supra is not that impressive and would be eaten alive buy most corvettes. and if you want to tslk about tuning let me remind you Chevy small and big blocks are some of the most frequently build engines on earth. I have a couple of big blocks with 2500hp+

madcaesars LMFAO youre the one that wounds like a kid. chevy has a long list of higher performing engines than the 2jz. the 409bbc, 427bbc, the 454bbc, the 502bbc, the 572bbc, the Lt4, the Ls1, the Ls3, the Ls7, and the Ls9. Btw this is coming from a MOPAR guy. the 2jz is good in the supra but the C4-C7 Corvette can rip it a new asshole each time stock for stock or tune for tune. And for a whole lot less money.

I gotta say with the Subaru's history in rally, it should have at least an honourable mention. I just don't understand where the Mini cooper, Ford Mustang and Jaguar E type are.

@@KidSerious04 Mustang isn't legendary enough. It's iconic that it's the 1st pony car on the market but once the Camaro came out, it sort of levelled the playing field and once the Challenger came out, it yet again took a pie out of Ford's sales then consequently, other companies started to chase up on Ford's pony car trend like Buick, Plymouth, Pontiac and even AMC with their Javelin thus once the appeal passed, the Mustang wasn't anything great after all and it wasn't any much of a legend unless you're talking about those Shelby GT350 Hertz "Rent-a-racecar" Mustang but yet again, ain't legendary right out the factory. However, the other cars that you mentioned are actual legends and why it wasn't on the list is boggling me too.

r32 because it won every freaking race in its time period and earned the name godzilla. AWD all wheel steering attesa system putting out f1 horsepower after some tuning r32 skyline gtr was one of the most advance in that time for a much cheaper price. learn what you are talking about before trash talking dummy. but others shouldn't made it here. maybe nsx and maybe hachiroku for memes. but audi quettro was only a honorable mention for stupid mojos so what can i say. this list sucks.

The high performance variant of the *Oldsmobile F-85 coupé* called the *Jetfire* was the first turbocharged production car *on the market* (The Oldsmobile went on sale in April 1962) the turbocharger version of the Chevrolet *Corvair* a released a month later... the most people don't even remember the *Jetfire* and since it is "just" a month most people Assume that the *Corvair Monza Spyder* was the first however the reliability of these engines was poor anyways It was not until the 1970 that the turbocharger took of in production cars thanks to cars like : 1973 BMW 2002 Turbo 1974 Porsche 911 Turbo 1977 Saab 99 Turbo

Mcgugger Nuggets you don't know anything about cars do you? Allow me to give you a little history lesson. In the early 1970's, Porsches and jaguars were king. They were the best sports cars money could buy. Then Datsun, now known as Nissan came out with the Z. Everything changed. The Z was better in every way. Faster, better handling, and above all, more reliable. This isnt the only time Japan has done this. Japan is an innovator, and to say their cars are bad racecars is simply idiotic. The Nissan r32 gtr and Mazda 787b were banned entirely from racing for being too good, and the type of engine that was in the 787b was banned all together. Mazda designed an engine that was too good to race LeMans. Also, the top spec 1996 Toyota supra was banned from sale in the usa completely, because it was too fast and the police cars of the day were outclassed. Still think Japan makes bad race cars? Today is a different story. Due to emissions, the Japanese can't be as adventureous as in the 90's and yet the Honda Civic Type R Became the fastest front wheel drive car around the Nurinburgring. I hope you've learned something you ignorant little faggot. Now go back to playing Forza.

I'm surprised the first gen NSX didn't make this list. Not only was it one of Japan's first supercars, it was known as being the first everyday supercar and the first mass-produced car to use an all-aluminum body. It also proved that a supercar can be powerful, fast around a track, beautiful, AND reliable (no supercar before its time was). Heck, it was even Gordon Murray's design reference and target goals of both ride quality and handling for the McLaren F1.

One of the most important road and race cars has been missed here. The Bugatti type 35 gran prix. In its production time it won over a 1000 races, won the 1926 gran prix world Championship, set 47 records amd at its peak won up to 14 races a week. If one car deserves a spot on this list or at leat an honorabele mention it is this vintage beast

Why does 'legendary' only include sports cars because the original Porsche/Volkswagen beetle should be there and for the sports car genre Bugatti should have at least one car which should be the Bugatti Veyron or an original post WW2 Le Mans car

The only people who know of half of these cars are car enthusiasts and rich guy collectors... The countach, f40, db5 is well know by almost anyone, but the rest are unknown by many. That don't make em legendary if idiots don't know what they are.

For me the 300SL is definitely number one. Based on a Le Mans winning race car that won every race it entered, the fastest car in the world for nearly a decade, the first production car to use direct injection and one of if not the most gorgeous cars ever made. So ahead of its time.
