The name of the Gulf depends on which surrounding country you are referencing. In this case, the UAE (United ARAB Emirates) has called the body of water the 'Arabian Gulf' since the 1960s. You can read more on the naming dispute here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persian_Gulf#Naming_dispute

@@GOGlobeHopper Thanks for clarification. So according to UN there is only one name for this body of water: Persian gulf. Arab people are a great nation with brilliant history but changing the historical name of a land or body of water is not proper.

I've stayed at Mina and the Waldorf Astoria, I would say that Raffles is missing from the list. Incredible rooms and best service.

We included Raffles when we originally created the list a few years ago but re-did our picks when we updated the video. Yes, Mina and Waldorf Astoria are also excellent choices. As a matter of fact, there are several Dubai hotels worth mentioning. However, for the purpose of a Top 10, they can't ALL make the cut.
