Similarly to our last video, we understand that some viewers might have a different “definition” of what is considered a gangster film, however for our video, films such as ‘True Romance’, ‘Reservoir Dogs’, ‘Heat’ and ‘The Usual Suspects’ haven’t been included as we don’t really consider those to be gangster films in the same light as the ones in our list.

This movie is older(70's) but i suggest the warriors you probably watched it already since rockstar made a game about it but it's a good movie it wouldn't hurt to rewatch it

Sure, the Departed which is entirely copied from Infernal Affairs makes the list, and Infernal Affairs which is the original (and even slightly better as a movie per se) is just in the honorable mentions...

Millers crossing is awesome. The departed is one of the best gangster films ever. Goodfellas definitely the number one of all time. Eastern Promises is very underrated, as is snatch and lock stock which is better than snatch.

Awesome list ..I love Gangster Films. Only just saw The Irishman & Bronx Tale last year but they are all Brilliant. Goodfellas & Donnie Brasco are in my top five 👍

Thanks a lot. Yep definitely, we're trying to promote more world cinema in our videos. We did one looking at the cinema of South Korea a couple months back, and we're hoping to do more like that in the coming months. Next week's video is looking solely at international gangster films, so make sure to check that one out! :)

Nice list.However,two films from that great year of 1990 should of at least got honourable mentions,if not included in the top ten - State Of Grace,and King Of New York.Especially S.O.G.One of Oldman's best performances.

Irishman should be higher on the list..that movie is amazing gotta remember thats the first time that aging tech was ever used and it's was pretty damn good once they perfect it then actors and actresses will never age lol

interesting fact, when Scorsese made Casino he was also offered to make " Do the right thing" but obviously he gave it to spike Lee because he was making casino already

I don't know why but theres always a spacial place in my heart for 'the irishman'. Many say it's slow paced. I personally found it fast paced. And not funny or similar to any scorsese movie. And a great ending.

Yeah, thought it was a strong return to form for Ritchie, more akin to 'Snatch' and 'Lock, Stock'. It was ultimately a fun film, and it had its gangster elements, so could definitely be considered! Thanks for the comment.

This list is only looking at "modern" gangster films, made post-1990. 'The Long Good Friday' was released in 1980, we have another video looking at classic gangster films.

'The Godfather' was released in 1972, as mentioned at the start, we're only looking at "modern" gangster movies released post-1990.
