In the late 18th century, the tiara came into fashion in Europe as a prestigious piece of jewelry to be worn by women on formal occasions. The basic shape of the modern tiara is a semi-circle, usually made of silver, gold, or platinum, and richly decorated with precious stones, pearls, or cameos.
On today’s video we are going to look at some of the most beautiful tiaras worn by the royal family of the Scandinavian royal court. Scandinavian Peninsula is a subregion in Northern Europe, with strong historical, cultural, and linguistic ties between its constituent peoples with countries like Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Sweden.

Emperador Pedro I from Brazil gave Bragança (right way to write the name of former Brazilian and Portuguese royal family name. He chose the design to make it.The right pronunciation of "ç" is /s/) tiara to his second wife as wedding gift in Brazil. She, the former Brazilian empress, gave the Bragança tiara as enheritance for her sister who was Swidish queen at the time because her only child has died - just some months before marriage.

While Napoleon won eternal glory, Bernadotte's dynasty still reigns, his vision of what Sweden should be is fulfilled, and he is an ancestor to five other reigning monarchs, and that even Josephine's blood joined his in ruling two kingdoms!

I love the swedish royals. They are so kind & warmhearted! I know i don't know them, but I've met the king, queen & the crown princess more than once, prince Daniel i've seen once. And i'm not swedish & never lived there.. But you can look at the king at any chosen moment, he's always himself, open & kind. I love how he just walks put in front of the press & people, forgets himself when he sees one of his horses & he cant keep himself from going over & giving it a pet.. 😅 They dont go on that need to have to mutch "mystery & myth" around them. Sweden is lucky to have Victoria as next in line. She will do an absolutely marvelous job being queen & head of state!

Although like this video said, tiaras became popular in early 1800s the Empire style admired Ancient Rome in jewelry and dresses. So when you think of princesses prior to 1800s they would not have worn tiaras. Prior crowns were worn however by the monarchs and tiaras and diadems were worn by monarchs in antiquity.

A few minor mistakes but some mistakes often slip in! The blonde swedish Princess (in the Aquamarine diadem) name is Madeleine & not Margaret as he says. And the Margaret he talks about was her great grandmother, king Karl gustav XVI's grandmother.

They are scattered around after the frech revolution. One Diamond atleast used in the crown in the french crown jewels can now been seen at the Louvren in Paris. (I've learned this from the top 10 Diamonds video here 😂)

Never forget: if we are lucky in life, we will ALL be old one day. GBS, the great Irish playwright said that "youth is wasted on the young". There are plenty of younger people who look terrible and don't know how to show what they have to best advantage, while there are many old people who look stunning and wear their age well.
