I'm surprised the Caramoan challenge where you have to avoid drowning at high tide wasn't included or mentioned. That one seems like such a thin line between holding your breath to win a challenge and accidental drowning.

Just the fact that Chet survived that challenge with Joel is a miracle. Underrated challenge beast

I was gonna point out how much of a miracle it is that none of these contestants didn't even sue production for breaking safety hazards, but I have a sneaking suspicion that all contestants signed a contract that waved their rights to do so.

The attack zone was by far the most dangerous challenge. You had to survive being associated with Survivor: Thailand.

Watching Joel drag Chet through that challenge hurt so much. Poor little guy never stood a chance. I felt like I was watching a live reenactment of the coyote tied to a rocket bouncing from rock to rock in the canyon.

Even with just a brief mention that mouth-meat challenge haunts me. When Jeff happily tells them they get to keep the spit-covered meat I died a little inside.

FYI, the "better" camp they were racing towards in item 4 was actually the WORSE camp according to everyone who visited both camps that season. It was a mini-controversy post-season.

Seeing that a couple of those challenges were at Heroes vs Villains makes me realize they wanted a lot of struggle and fighting between the Tribes... more than usual, I mean

What’s always been odd to me is with challenges like these they don’t wear any protective gear. Think of the challenge on MTV. They do physical challenges all the time or challenges where they fall into water but always wearing helmets, knee pads, mouth guards, etc

Honestly I'm convinced the only thing they could've done to make Schmergen Brawl more unsafe was attach primed C4 to the contestants and tell them good luck

I still can't get over how Rupert smashed Jerri down and then proceeds to get angry at her when she is rightfully upset.

I know it’s for safety concerns but I miss the physical contact challenges from old survivor. Everything is a puzzle race in the current seasons.

I couldn’t imagine having to participate in most of these challenges. I’d be scared out of my mind.

That one challenge in Survivor 42 where Jonathan beasted his way for Taku while the other two tribes struggled to stay afloat was pretty hard to watch. Less the challenge and more the conditions, though

My favourite part is Boston Rob seeing Jerry get slammed by Rupert and just body checking Rupert.

I'm surprised Last Gasp wasn't on here, because in addition to the obvious physical dangers of potentially drowning, there's also a good chance of someone having an anxiety/panic attack once the water starts coming in

This was easily the Survivor video that I had the hardest time getting through. Watching people get injured, especially stuff like knees bending backward and faces getting cut open, it's really hard to watch. Survivor sounds fun in theory but I could never do it cause of stuff like this

That clip of Spencer getting hit in the leg and foot with the puzzle piece always makes me wince 😫😖

I'm aware the contestants sign their lives away when entering the show but there has had to have been some injuries that caused some kind of permanent damage. My hand was permanently damaged in a minor mishap at work 12 yrs ago. I can Still feel the results when certain pressures are applied. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some lawsuits against the show over some of these incidents.

I "love" how clearly post-production Jeff is when explaining the wrist warning at the Break Your Wrist challenge. But also Thank God bc while being worked on in the medevac they found a grapefruit sized tumor in Kourtney so that was the most lifesaving medevac in Survivor history

I really like Get a Grip and don't know why they never do it in water, because I think it would be way safer. Also if I was ever on Survivor I would hate the Blind leading the Blind challenge, especially the ones with the huge blocks... watching Spencer getting destroyed by those blocks physically makes me cringe every time.

The last one had me thinking "oh that'd suck but that doesn't seem that dangerous" and then I saw the tape and literally shouted "THERE'S THREE PEOPLE ON THE WHEEL!?!"

The Blindfolded challenges are definitely one of my favorites because you can get so many funny moments which for me in this case I think Caramoan and Cagayan tie for having some of the best moments from this specific challenge especially with Jeff's commentary LOL

i feel like the puzzle from HVV with the massive cubes should’ve been there. if a team loses balances with those things on their shoulders it’s broken bones galore

Whenever I heard someone in Season 41 say that "it was the hardest season ever" it infuriated me and at the same time made me laugh My family is from Guatemala and I've been to those jungles before. An 11-mile hike like that is more dangerous than all of season 41 combined

Uhhh...where's the breathing challenge from Caramoan? That was so dangerous and Torturous, it should have at least got a mention.

This was the first survivor video i ever watched.Which means Rupert is the first survivor i ever heard of and battle dig was the first challenge i ever heard off. I owe a lot to this video.

PS: Joel might actually be...not the nicest person. I remember that happening with him and Chet, and it's like, "Dude, you're five times his size, ease up." It would be like him dragging me around. I'm five feet tall, which is a ridiculous height for any adult to be.

semi-unrelated but that chrissy confessional in your outro is one of the most iconic of modern survivor, i quote it so unnecessarily often PLEASE but to be more related, and i know this is similar to 32's almost-killed-caleb challenge where it's really the elements' fault it was so dangerous rather than the actual challenge design, but 42's recent water challenge where literally almost half the cast drowned from unreasonably insane high tide, where jonathan was the only one able to even carry his entire tribe to victory... yeah that was WILD

I disagree about the heat thing in that challenge from Kaoh Rong. I don’t think it would’ve been a problem if the digging area wasn’t so massive and deep. They’ve stayed in that filming area, but every future challenge involving digging has had a much smaller area and we’ve never seen anything close to what happened to Caleb

I was surprised to see Last Gasp not up here. Of course it would be all women on the torture device…. I’m really glad the wheel water spinning death trap and the meat eating thing are not a challenge anymore. Caramoan had a lot of brutal challenges.

Some challenges, like building a step puzzle using huge, heavy wooden blocks on HvV, you can immediately see the very real possibility for danger. Like what if one of them slips and falls, and those huge blocks come crashing down on them. Some seem simple enough, but can go bad very quickly. Like hanging on to a very high thin platform, for as long as possible. What if someone passes out,a very real possibility, and breaks their neck on the way down. Honestly some of these challenges are downright bone headed from production. Its only sheer luck they haven't killed or severely maimed someone.

9:30 for the WIN!! I’m shocked that Chet is ALIVE after being dragged like that and being slammed into posts repetitively!! With losing so much body mass that poor guy didn’t have any protection!! BONES OF STEEL

Surprised to not see the water challenge from 42, where Rocksoy had the ladder on his head and almost drowned. Maybe the challenge design wasnt so bad on its own. Its just that they should have realized the waves were too strong that day and had a back up challenge

I was surprised there weren't any accidents with the challenge where you fill up your bucket with water from a high platform I always thought it was potentially dangerous if someone were to slip off

Last Gasp and the Australian Outback cliff jump challenge that had leeches in the water are for sure at the top of this list.

I watched this immediately thinking the water wheel one had to be on here, because that one always gave me so much anxiety to watch. I just kept thinking what if they didn’t stop the wheel when they moved onto the puzzle and one of the women were still under water ?! Just crazy they did this challenge in two different seasons.

Some of these challenges remind me more of weird fraternity, initiation challenges, thensurvivor challenges LMAO

The most dangerous challenge is being forced to watch Jack and Jill, that should've been the challenge for the contestants where the final one to stay awake or not leave the movie theatre wins for their tribe. If there is a tie, the remaining contestants would be asked to guess the total number of product placements in the movie, closest to the number wins immunity for their tribe.
