Fun Fact: Jackie Chan got into a fight with a group of thugs and left home as the winner. he realized that a bone was sticking out of his knuckle. it wasn't until he realized that it wasn't a bone but a tooth lodged into his skin

Ah who doesn't love Mr Bean huh? I remember when I was a nipper and we used to watch Mr bean before bed. Good memories🤔😍. Then if I was extra extra good, my mum would let me stay up super late to watch A touch of Frost...very different genres but still awesome lol...thanx Mum!😄❤️.

Lone Wolf you are out of your damn mind. Charlie Chaplin was and is still one of the greatest filmmakers of all time. He practically invented to comedy feature movie. He wrote, directed, starred in, edited, and composed the music of nearly every movie he made. With his Tramp character, he was the first worldwide movie star. His influence on movie making can not be over-stated. On the point about Stan Laurel, though, if Laurel did invent the Tramp concept with "Jimmy the Intrepid", Chaplin was the one who perfected it.

+randomjeb Yep!, he made a film called life at his essanay period way back in 1915.but the studio execs reminded him he's only supposed to make shorts not features.so that film was abandoned and eventually scrapped to become the film triple trouble released by essanay some three years later.

There are so many great ones here, it's hard to find a place for Laurel and Hardy. Still, they should be put in 10#, and take out The Three Stooges, who don't deserve to be there anyway.

Really, where are Laurel and Hardy? I was glad that Lucy got an honorable mention, that woman was hysterical. I guess you can get picky and do a update list of current actors to include Steve Martin, John Candy, Robin Williams, Mike Myers, Dana Carey, Eddie Murphy, Whoopi Goldberg and so on.

Stooges and Marx Brothers are my top 2! I can watch them everyday and still laugh. I only saw one of Buster Keaton(The General) and Charlie Chaplin(can't remember which one) film and barely laugh. I guess I should try to find their other films before I judge.

They could have filled this list entirely with people filmed only in black and white. But they still did a pretty good job and the top 3 were pretty fair. I love the Marx Brothers but I admit they had a variety of styles in their act. I do feel like I have to make a mention of the ladies, though... only one on the list and she was an honorable mention. I'm not crazy about Lucy personally but she was an icon of slapstick comedy, and there were others out there. I have to concede that those ladies, though, aren't more famous than these are. But Lucy, at least, is really deserving of more recognition in this area. That famous scene with the chocolates alone is familiar to pretty much everyone.

Regarding the Marx Brothers: Gummo did not perform as part of the group on the Silver Screen; only on the Vaudeville circuit. It also should be noted that Zeppo played the "straight man" while Groucho, Chico and Harpowent for the laughs.

Why don't you do a complete list about him? You've done it with other actors/directors, why don't do it with the greatest film-maker ever? Top 10 Charlie Chaplin Moments for example.

Love all these on the list, but there’s some people in others languages besides English who did great job. In Latin America people really love chavo del 8, probably the most influent slapstick in the region.

Fun fact: Jackie Chan initially wanted to do Bruce Lee-styled action movies but realised he couldn't breach the market, hence he ended up developing his slapstick-comedy-kung-fu action movies instead
