Great video. Thank you for the time and research you put into this. I never would’ve thought of the Thornton. I don’t think I’ve ever even seen that card. Thank you for sharing

As a long time collector, the Donruss Preferred Marian Hossa will be a close second to the Joe Thornton Gold...it is so condition sensitive, most collectors aren't aware of its true value. Hossa is such an underrated player, he is very decorated and a PSA 10 is super rare.

Can you tell me why the score facory set 1990 ican be find at 50 $ vs lindros and Brodeur card much more expensive ?
@tenclubcards3 жыл бұрын
If you're asking why a factory set cost less than those cards in the video, it's because these are psa graded cards in a Gem Mint 10. I've opened several dozen 1990 factory sets over the years, and I've probably found 2 to 3 cards out of 10 sets that get a Gem Mint 10 from PSA. The 1990 Score was tough for centering, along with the corners and edges of the cards due to the colored red and blue pin stripes on the border. I hope this helps what you were asking and please feel free to comment back if you have anymore questions. Thanks for watching Martial and have a great weekend!

May have to get my Jagr and Fedorov opc premier graded- i bought way too much of that when it came out, made some money on it then...but now- wow the prices have gone up. At the time Jagr was well down the list of the rookies to collect- Fedorov was by far #1 in that set. I bought a few boxes of them from Costco at $15 or 20 each Canadian.

Yeah, I made a lot of mistakes in my research on these early videos. I found that one a few more later on. Newer videos I'm using a membership based website for research that's a lot easier to narrow down a list like this. Either way, I appreciate you watching and have a great weekend!

I mentioned in a few other comments I made a lot of mistakes in this early video. I've since started using a subscription based website for doing research that makes it a lot easier to narrow down such a wide range of years. Sorry for the confusion and hope you still enjoyed the video Jeff 👍

Interesting, a lot of these pop reports are extremely low relative to other sports from the junk wax era. I mean if you look at the 1989 Upper Deck Ken Griffey Jr Rookie for example - it has something like 20,000 PSA 10's, and like 100k submissions meanwhile some of these junk wax era hockey rookies have pop's in the low 100's.. And I have hundreds of each of these in my collection.. But truth be told there is absolutely no reason at all to have any of these slabbed, I mean just because they have low pops doesn't mean much - all it means is that these cards haven't been submitted as much as cards in other sports from the junk wax era. Unfortunately these cards are just far too abundant to hold any significant value even in a 10 because millions of these were produced, and a good 50% of them are at least a PSA 9 and 30% a 10 so given that millions were produced - even slabbed - the supply significantly outweighs the demand... And it really does suck because you want to believe (or at least I do) that rookie cards of these Hall of Famers would hold significantly more value than what they do, because the junk wax era produced dozens and dozens of some pretty terrific players and even some All-Time Greats such as Lidstrom, Hasek, Sakic and Lindros just to name a few that would find themselves on any top 5, 10 or 20 list yet their rookie cards raw are valued at less than a cup of coffee and even slabbed as PSA 10's overvalued.... I will say tho, there are some interesting variations and sets that have rookies which are worth perhaps investing in which I believe are tremendously undervalued at the moment - such as: 1990-91 OPC Premier 1990-91 Upper Deck Hologram Variations like the comic ball, and "carrot" versions. 1991-92 Upper Deck Czech And of course there are plenty of inserts and parallels from the 90's that are extremely desirable. Upper Deck Electric Ice, Pinnacle Rink Collection, Stadium Club First Day Issues to name a few.
