Penny suddenly realizing Amy was her best friend, then telling her so after demanding to be her maid of honor. You could tell by Amy's response that was the first time in her life someone said she was their best friend.

I loved the episode when the food in Howard's refrigerator was in danger of being completely lost and the gang had a giant feast...with some sincere emotions during discovering what was in there, during the feast, and the slow digestion afterwards.

Sheldon lost his father at 14, so he was the only one in the group to lose a parent before Howard's mom died. Being the only one who had lost a parent, he knew how it felt and was the one who could have empathy Howard.

The scene when Sheldon sees Amy in her wedding dress is my favorite. I cry every time I see that scene, because it's just so authentic, heartfelt and kind. We need more people like Sheldon in this world when he's with Amy.

I always felt that as an apology, she should have given the napkin to Leonard for making him feel like trash, and being a slut. Honestly, he had every right to yell at her, and it could have been a learning lesson for her, that she gave up on her and him too soon, and that his comment about “community college”, wasn’t supposed to be an insult to her intelligence. What is wrong with this girl?

The different versions of Howard's father's letter is one of my favorite moments. 😢

Howard's song to Bernadette while she's in quarantine still makes me teary despite the fact that I've seen it dozens of times. My favorite is probably "You look like a pile of swans" because Sheldon is the most honest character in the show - brutally, painfully honest, most of the time. Any compliment that one person gives another almost always has the undercurrent of possible insincerity, obligation, or obsequiousness. With Sheldon, compliments were always genuine, which is why some of his compliments are really insults, and others are weird like "She's like the dryer sheets of my heart!" The "pile of swans" simile is such a strange, but very sweet, way of saying "You are beautiful," and it gave Amy the confidence to build her wedding to HER tastes, not her friends'.

#1 will always be hard to watch. i lost both my parents a year apart & hearing this broke me. worst part is that i didn't know the actress actually died in real life so this came out of left field. anyone else cry during this?

At the time, I merely cried bc of the acting and the fact that I DID know the actress had passed away. However, somewhat similar to what you described (altho I would never compare what you went thru!!) my father got ill in 2017 and passed away late 2019. And at this point in time, we already knew that my mother was clearly having problems and as I type this, she is in the middle stages of Alzheimer’s. It’s almost frightening to watch a parent disappear day by day (I’ve lived with her for over a decade now) and watching both of them like that was horrifying. Rewatching the scene re Howie’s mom turned me into a weeping hysterical mess. But I would like to send my condolences to you and your family for your losses. Like I said, each person’s experience is unique to them and I don’t know if I would (or could) deal w losing both parents within 12 months. 😭🕊️💔

Even though I'd never wear something so extravagant, I liked Amy's wedding dress. She looked like a Little House character. Also, hearing Sheldon use a bird simile to describe something/someone as beautiful is kinda strange, due to his ornithophobia.

To be fair, he had actually made progress with that particular phobia, going so far as to actually holding a bird and wanting to keep it as a pet until it flew away. He was at least able to acknowledge their beauty, even if he still feared handling them. So it makes since that he would admire the swan's beauty at least from a distance.

I really loved the moment when Sheldon felt inspired by his Dad! Similar thing happened to me with my Dad but only when I was reading his journal after his passing

TBBT was really a moving show. And I'm glad that Howard's space adventure is finally not being overlooked by this channel. By the way, why is nobody talking about Amy finally becoming attractive at the end of the show? Everyone complains about Raj staying alone or Penny's last name staying secret but forgets that there were other resolutions which were fulfilled, like Amy's styling and the elevator.

I really hope they do a sequel to the big bang theory after young sheldon ends. I would like it to be set several years after the end of the big bang theory when everyone has kids and what not. It would be amazing if Paige Swanson was a series regular on that show. I could imagine that she passed up a life of higher education and science to have a successful marriage and family life. Sheldon could regularly criticize the idea that she gave up her opportunities, yet is continuously frustrated by the fact that despite that she is still smarter than him and often comes out on top during their debates.

I adore Sheldon’s response to Amy’s dress & his comment to Howard when his mother passed away. The song to Bernadette tho stands out in my mind as one of the sweetest on the show (which is remarkable to me, only bc of my extreme bias towards Shamy.) Two things missing, IMO, were when the guys returned home to hear their GFs arguing abt a comic book. They almost went into shock. And when Sheldon realized Amy would date other guys without a commitment, he went to the movies to ask her to be his GF. Except 1st time w four double negatives. The whole scene was adorable!

I'd put Sheldon's Nobel speech at #1 Howard's Mother dying at 2, and Sheldon thanking his Dad, after seeing the tape at 3....all based on how much tissue I go through, no matter how often I watch them. The others are all good though.

But #1 was for sure the NUMBER ONE moment because the actress that played Howie's mom passed away in real life from cancer and this episode and the one where the food is unfreezing are tributes to the actress.

When Howard's mom died it was a really sad moment, but more because of the actress per say, because Howard joked so many times about his mom's death, he mistreated her so much that for me was a bit strange when he got upset with the news.

I didn't have a close relationship with my father, yet one of the most painful things to me was when he passed away last year. I wasn't ready for it yet (I think we never are). So of course you will grief if you lose one of your parents. Howard's jokes often seemed to cover for the kind of relationship they had. Maybe due to the fact he had grown up without a father. Some were really mean, yes, and there are many moments I didn't like his character or couldn't relate to him but his reaction to his mother's death is probably one I could relate to the most if I'd re-watch the series.

To bad Parsons cancelled the show so he could do Young Sheldon... It nice he is coveing for Cuoco who also had onther projects. Everything I read states these two are great friends... I find it hard to believe Cuoco didn't know. They both have the right to quit a TV show... but they did impact everyone else on the show and watching it.
